Day 1 Golden Sumu Mountain

The month-long trip to Inner Mongolia was finally finalized when it was approaching November. The first stop was mainly to see the yellow leaves of the trees in Sumu Mountain in Ulanqab City. Can you make your wish come true. But when we got to the mountain, we saw golden leaves at the first parking spot. It was the leaves of the birch forest that turned yellow first, and the pine tree, the main tree species on this mountain, has just turned yellow. Although it is not particularly gorgeous, it is yellow and green. The comparison effect still has some artistic conception. If it can be around October 10 in another week, it should look even better.

The second day, the black Ulan Hada volcano

One of the big expectations of this trip to Inner Mongolia is to see the volcano. I have never seen this kind of landscape before. This time it is a dream come true. Ulan Hada Volcano is located in Chayouhou Banner, Ulanqab City. This is a volcanic group with 7 or 8 volcanoes. The most famous are three volcanoes, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 volcanoes. within a radius of several kilometers. This volcanic group is the only volcano in China that has erupted within ten thousand years. Volcano No. 3 is on the east side of the National Highway, and Volcanoes No. 5 and 6 are on the west side of the National Highway. Both numbers 3 and 6 have been excavated, with number 5 being the best preserved. There are quite a lot of people going to Volcano No. 3 on this National Day, which caused congestion on the national highway. However, there are relatively fewer people on Volcano No. 5 and No. 6. I think these two volcanoes are more beautiful, especially standing on the top of Volcano No. 5. Shooting Volcano No. 6, the landscape is even better. Looking at the black volcanic rocks, it really feels like the surface of Mars.

Extremely windy on the top of the volcano

Day 3 Colorful Ordos

This time I temporarily changed the route to Ordos, first because I wanted to see what the Kangbashi New District of Ordos, which was called a ghost town in the past, looks like now, and second, I wanted to see what is known as the highest musical fountain in Asia. After reading it, I feel that there are really few people there, and there are almost no pedestrians or vehicles on the wide road. I have never figured out where there are so many houses and where people go. The music fountain is said to have invested more than 100 million yuan, but the performance is still close to that of the music fountain in Hangzhou West Lake. The combination of fountain and music has not come out, but it is worth seeing for those who have never seen a large music fountain.

Day 4 Green Seven Star Lake

Day 5: Clear water, yellow sand and beautiful Wuhai

Before planning this trip, I really didn’t know much about Wuhai. After coming here, I feel that this small town is pretty good. Not only the beautiful Wuhai Lake, Gander Mountain, but also the rough Ulan Bu and desert. It is a lake, The organic combination of sand, mountains and urban landscape is very distinctive. The original plan was to go to Mount Gander, the commanding height of Wuhai, but due to the poor visibility of the weather, I was unable to climb to the top to overlook Ulanbu and the desert. If you have a chance, come to Wuhai. There are few people and the scenery is beautiful.

Day 6 Duozisha Lake

A total of seven days of intense travel including the round trip, nearly 3,500 kilometers, is still full of rewards. Although it is a bit tiring to drive alone, it is worth it and has left many good memories. I have only traveled half of the place in Inner Mongolia twice. In the future If I have the opportunity to go to the east and west of Inner Mongolia again, feel the vastness of Hulunbeier and the magnificence of Badain Jaran and Populus euphratica Forest, I will come again to the beautiful Inner Mongolia.
