Because I wanted to have a leisure trip, I decided to go to Miyun to explore the ancient castle. After searching, I decided to go to Yaoqiao Castle first, because Yunxiu Valley is opposite the ancient castle, so I went to visit Yunxiu Valley first. I thought it would be easy to go on No. 5 Road, but a friend got stuck on the road and I didn't arrive at the destination until nearly ten o'clock. Yunxiu Valley is 17 Li deep. Strange peaks, strange rocks, deep pools, and waterfalls are all there, especially the geological phenomenon of beautiful water and red stones and the group of glacial boulders and boulders in the Paleoquaternary are relatively rare in the country.

Because it was relatively late to enter the valley, I turned back to eat Chinese food before reaching the end of the scenic spot. I had Chinese food at the gate of Yaoqiao Castle and visited Yaoqiao Castle.

Yaoqiao Castle is the only well-preserved Ming Dynasty castle around Beijing. Now the castle is home to descendants of soldiers stationed at the frontier. There are about 60 villagers, most of whom are reception households for folk tourism. In the past when a city was built, two gates were called a city, but here there is only one gate, so it is called a fort. It turns out that there is a city gate in the middle of the city gate on the south side, and there are turrets for sentry at the four corners. The turrets and towers no longer exist, but the entire city wall is relatively well preserved. Yaoqiao Castle was built in the 26th year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty. The city is 123 meters long from east to west, 102 meters wide from north to south, the wall is 7 meters high, and the top is 4 meters wide. The ancient castle of Yaoqiao is carefully designed, with complete facilities, and its geographical location is suitable for strategic requirements. It uses the goat fine building in Yunxiu Valley as its eyes and ears, and echoes the enemy building on the Great Wall from the east of Simatai to Caojia Road. When the Great Wall met the enemy, the sentinels on duty on the Goat Jing Building immediately lit up smoke and transmitted the alarm signal on the Great Wall to the city. It is also difficult for spies to find it. So it had very important strategic value at that time.

Get up the next morning and go to Shangyu Ancient Castle. If you are navigating, you must guide Shangyu, not Shangyu Village. The distance between the two places is 20 kilometers. Shangyu Ancient Castle is more than 40 kilometers away from Miyun County. The castle was originally built in the Yongle period of Ming Dynasty. Fengjiayuguan is one of the road choices for northern nomads to enter the capital. Shangyu is very close to Fengjiayuguan, about two miles to the northwest. The castle is used to guard the pass and should be built at the same time as the pass. It is close to the pass, so it is called "Shang". About three miles southeast of the slope is "Xiayu". Later, I thought "Xia" was not good, so I changed its name to Fengjiayu. Shangyu is named after Fengjiayu Pass, which is the abbreviation or common name of "Shangfengjiayu Fort", and forms a defense system with "Xiayu" to guard this passage. The city is not facing forward, it is built along with the mountain and the water, leaning against the hill and facing the small river. The water is a tributary of the Baimaguan River, like a moat, flowing from the east to the south of the city. With such a good shape, the builder must have inspected the site before choosing it. According to the legend of the local people, there is a nuclear locust tree first and then a city. The locust tree by the river and the walnut tree next to it must have entered the vision of the builder. Due to the topography, the distance between the castle and the river was kept. There used to be a walnut tree and a locust tree in front of the city gate. Due to the age, the walnut tree is gone, and only the ancient locust tree still stands in front of the city gate. According to the name tag on the tree, this ancient locust tree has been around for more than 1,000 years and has witnessed the changes of the castle.

Because the castle is not big, the tour was completed in about half an hour. Seeing that it was still early, I decided to go to Baimaguan, 20 kilometers away. According to legend, Baimaguan Castle was built in the Qin Dynasty. In the Song Dynasty, the Jin soldiers invaded the Central Plains. The patriotic soldiers headed by the Yang family fought bravely against the Jin Dynasty. The legend of Yang Liulang who controlled the three passes alone was circulated in the local area. Jin Bing fled after hearing the news. When Jin soldiers invaded Yanshan area, Yang Liulang stuck his gun at the Qiangzi Road pass, guarded Gubei Pass by himself, and tied his white horse to the gate of Baima Pass. Jinbing spies found out about this situation. Fleeing in embarrassment, not daring to pass the pass, hence the name of White Horse Pass.

The Baimaguan castle is rectangular in shape, with a circumference of more than 400 meters. There is a south gate, and the 2-meter-long and 1-meter-wide "Baimaguan Fort" stone plaque on the gate tower is still eye-catching. The city wall is made of large rocks, the city gate is made of bricks, and the city gate is made of bricks. .
