Delingha is located in the seat of the state capital of Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province. There are two theories about the creation background of Haizi's poem. One theory is that Haizi fell in love with a female writer more than 20 years older than him. Just one night, when it was raining heavily, Haizi put his palms together on the Peking University campus, knelt on the ground, and waited for the female writer until dawn the next day. Unable to bear the suffering, the female writer returned to the west by car. Haizi followed all the way and wrote this little poem when the train passed Delingha.
The second theory is that in order to get rid of emotional entanglement and depression, Haizi went to Tibet to seek creative materials. When passing through Delingha, it happened to be a rainy night. Haizi was so depressed and sad that he wrote this poem.
Delingha was fortunate to befriend a poet, and this small western town, which was originally inconspicuous, became famous because of this poem by the poet Haizi, and "Delingha" became synonymous with sadness. Delingha also established a Haizi Memorial Hall.
Yak Soup
