On June 4th, I came to the Eight Immortals Garden in Shanghai Forest Park in the afternoon. The temperature was over 30 degrees and the sun was strong. And the good sunshine lasts from early morning to evening! Lucky day, auspicious day! I really like such a bright day. Photography is the art of light and shadow. The gloomy sky and the dark things are difficult to produce satisfactory works when entering the camera. Therefore, I agree with this statement: Light is the life of photography! There is such a vivid saying in the field of photography: photography uses light to paint, and without light a photographer cannot paint well, so making good use of light is the basic condition that a photographer should possess. According to my experience, different light irradiation angles can be divided into forward light, side light, backlight..., and can be divided into diffuse light and direct light according to the intensity of light. The ideal light seems to be side light, and metering can enhance the three-dimensional effect of the subject. Under the illumination of the side light, shadows appear on the faces of the characters, the three-dimensional ratio of the faces is enhanced, and the characters appear more vivid. Therefore, the most ideal time to shoot in the Eight Immortals Garden today is when I sat on the bench by the forest for an hour, and when I got up and left, it was past four o'clock and the sun had already slanted to the west. Whether it is flowers, people, or scenery, Enter the best time. When shooting portraits with side light, the face and body of the person will show a clear contrast between light and dark. In order to prevent the light and shadow effect from being too blunt, of course, I am only a photographer. Photographers will also use auxiliary lighting such as reflectors and flashlights. The equipment fills in the dark parts of the characters, so that more details and layers can be preserved. When I came to the western iron bench in the south corner of the Garden of Eight Immortals, I asked visitors to take a picture of me. The soft light of the setting sun in the west, red, shining on my body and face, I felt very good. Walking out of the Eight Immortals Garden, the setting sun was shining from the west. I was going to the west gate and walking towards the west. The giant trees were illuminated by the setting sun along the way. Of course, the light used at this time is not metering, but backlighting. Backlighting adds a beautiful silhouette. Backlighting refers to the situation where the light shines from the back of the subject and the front of the camera. Shooting portraits under the backlight will produce gorgeous contour lines, making the subject golden and translucent. On the other hand, backlighting can also create a sharp silhouette effect. When using backlight to shoot portraits, you can properly fill in the light on the faces of the characters according to the effect you want to obtain, so that the faces of the characters can be clearly seen while retaining the edge light effect. But if you want to shoot portrait silhouette effects, try to make the subject overexposed and underexposed. When shooting portraits against the light, the hair of the characters is bright and dazzling, and the outline of the characters is also quite eye-catching under the outline light. The supplementary light through the reflector can make the faces of the characters clearly visible in the picture. Of course, shoot silhouettes against the light. This is a later story, so I won't mention it here.
