This is a super-practical guide about Xinjiang (mainly northern Xinjiang), because I read a lot of guides before I went, but I always feel that it is not particularly detailed, and many precautions are unknown, so from Xinjiang When I get back, I'm going to write one myself. This article focuses on providing personal experience as a reference, and it is all dry goods; as for the beautiful scenery, because it is so beautiful, and there are too many pictures and videos on the Internet, I will not focus on it. I can only say "why do Northern Europe if there is Xinjiang".

1. About the timing of going to Xinjiang

My travel time is from September 25th to October 5th. During this period, some friends also wanted to travel together, but they couldn’t ask for leave before the National Day, so they chose October 1st to October 10th (about this time ). In hindsight, it is wiser to go early, because the temperature difference between morning and evening in Xinjiang is very large at the end of September and early October, and some scenic spots will face relatively bad weather at any time, such as heavy wind and heavy snow, which will lead to road closures or closure of scenic spots, such as everyone's favorite alone Kulu Highway and Kanas have been closed intermittently from October 1st to October 6th of my codeword this year, causing tourists to temporarily change their itinerary. The saddest thing is that they came but did not play. Many tourists in the WeChat group lamented that coming to Xinjiang in autumn is to unpack the blind box to see if they are lucky enough to check in all the scenic spots. But our time choice has indeed maintained a play journey that is consistent with our established strategy. Of course, there is also a little bit of luck.

Summary: If you want to take advantage of the golden week of national conditions, it is recommended to start the vacation at the end of September. The sooner you go, the better, so that the weather is relatively better, the schedule is more controllable, and there are fewer people, so the travel experience is better. If you really can't take a vacation before the festival, it is recommended to prepare plan B at any time when doing the strategy.

2. About the route of the Northern Xinjiang Ring Road

Not much to say, first on the picture:

This is a relatively classic northern Xinjiang route arrangement (we call it route A), the general idea is: after arriving in Urumqi, head northwest to Burqin to rest, then go to Kanas and Hemu; then travel from Kanas to Start from the southwest through Karamay to Yining and then to Duku, and finally end the whole journey.

When I was planning the route, I wanted to go to the Duku Highway, and at the same time, I checked on the Internet that the Duku Highway might be closed in October. In order to ensure that I can take the Duku Highway, we will go in the opposite direction (we call it Route B ), that is: after arriving in Wushi, go west from Dushanzi to Duku Highway, and then continue west to Yining after arriving at Nalati, then to Sailimu Lake, Karamay, then Kanas Hemu, and then from Transfer back to Urumqi in Burqin. In the end, this route is ideal for the following reasons, for your reference:

1. The most beautiful scenic spots in Xinjiang in autumn are Kanas and Hemu. Route A is equivalent to going to the most beautiful scenic spots quickly after landing. The follow-up scenic spots may go down from the high point, which will lead to anticlimax The feeling of driving high and walking low; route B is equivalent to going from ordinary landscapes to beautiful landscapes to the most beautiful landscapes. The freshness and satisfaction of the journey are constantly improving, allowing you to always maintain admiration and recognition for the beauty of Xinjiang. And relieve the fatigue of long-term travel.

2. Route B can ensure that you can go to Duku Highway with a high probability, and it is already the first week of October when Route B reaches Kanas Hemu, and the feeling of autumn is more intense, which is more suitable for viewing autumn colors.

3. The final route

After reading the strategy online, communicating with local tour guides, and communicating with friends who have been there, our final itinerary is as follows:

ü On September 25th, land at Urumqi Airport at 12:50, rent a car, check in at the hotel, and go shopping in the city; When picking up the car, carefully observe the vehicle to see if there are any scratches, so as to avoid subsequent disputes; it is recommended to find a regular car rental company, implement insurance, and ensure that the vehicle procedures are complete. If you are not familiar with the vehicle, you can ask the person who sent the car in detail; observe whether the vehicle has a mobile phone holder , Xinjiang will use mobile phone navigation for a long time. This is very important, and it is usually available in the car; after we got the car, we went to Carrefour to do the shopping as soon as possible, and bought a box of various leisure snacks and ham sausages Water, etc., because there will be a lot of time on the road, these are essential; we visited the Grand Bazaar in Urumqi, and if you have time, you can go to the museums and Hongshan Park in the city)

ü On September 26th, we departed at 8:00 am, arrived at Dushanzi Grand Canyon at 11:00 am, and officially entered the Duku Highway at 12:00 am. When we passed the Qiaoerma Mausoleum, we navigated to the Tangbula Baili Gallery. It is very beautiful and highly recommended. Check in at Nalati at 9:30 in the evening; (Dushanzi Grand Canyon is more commercialized, and it is all recreational facilities. It depends on whether you like it. The real Grand Canyon is circled instead. The scenery on the road is very beautiful; if you don’t It takes only 30 minutes to play the amusement facilities; Anjihai Grand Canyon is said to be more beautiful. After consulting the tour guide, there was a landslide accident a few years ago and it was shut down. It is not recommended to go there without permission; It’s a big loop, and the second half starts with snow mountains, which is really shocking; focus: Duku Highway is stop-and-go, so we must plan to finish it in 2 days, one day is very strenuous, and we met some people who had to stay overnight in the rest area ;In addition, before going to Duku Highway, you should call the local highway bureau to find out the weather and whether it is open; Baili Gallery strongly recommends going; Duku is very dangerous to drive at night, and it is strongly not recommended to drive at night; remind drivers and passengers to go before Duku Highway Pay attention to the weather forecast, do not go in the evening, in rainy days or in extreme high temperature weather; there are many sharp bends and steep slopes in mountainous areas, there is still snow on both sides of the roadbed, and the roadbed in the permafrost thawing section is deformed greatly, so drive carefully when passing; Landslides, mudslides, landslides and other serious road sections need to pay attention to observation, pass quickly, and do not stay)

ü On September 27, visit the Nalati Grassland in the morning, drive to Yining in the afternoon, and visit Liuxing Street; (The grass in the Nalati Grassland is already withered and yellow, and there are sightseeing cars in the scenic area. The air grassland route we take has three stops Point, maybe because the season is not right, the overall feeling is average, we set off for Yining after a short 2 hours of play; you can go for a walk on Liuxing Street, and eat some snacks on the roadside)

ü On September 28, visit Yining Kazanqi Hanren Street in the morning, drive to Sailimu Lake at noon, arrive at about 5:00 pm, and go around the lake on the same day; (Kazanqi Hanren Street is two local streets, see Personally like it, usually it can be finished in 2 hours; Sailimu Lake is very beautiful, you can eat fish in the lake at a restaurant near Dianjiangtai at night)

ü On September 29th, continue to play in Sailimu Lake for half a day in the morning, drive to Karamay at noon, and stay in Karamay on the same day; food)

ü On September 30th, visit the World Devil City in the morning, drive to Hemu at noon, stop at the gate of the scenic spot, and take the shuttle bus to the hotel; The shooting location; when driving to Hemu, the road is very beautiful, there are parking spots on the side of the road, you can stop and enjoy at any time; after parking in the Hemu parking lot, it is very convenient to enter the scenic area and take the shuttle bus to the hotel; personal feeling The commercialization of Hemu is relatively serious, but the scenery is beautiful and you can ride a horse)

ü On October 1, before 4:00 p.m., visit Hemu, then take the shuttle bus out of Hemu, and drive to Kanas to check in; (Kanas is the most beautiful, if Hemu is Xiaojiabiyu, then Kanas Si is a lady, so we arranged 2 days to play in Kanas; Hemu took a shuttle bus out of the scenic spot, went to the parking lot, and drove for 1 hour to Kanas. The Kanas parking lot is called Jiadengyu, park well After the car, take a shuttle bus from Jiadengyu to the transfer center. Pay attention, you will have to take a bus from the transfer center every time you go to the internal scenic spots in Kanas; there are 5 lines in the transfer center. If you live in the scenic area, you can Call the hotel owner and ask the hotel owner how to transfer on that line; if you live in Jiadengyu, you can take a shuttle bus from Jiadengyu to the transfer center and then take a tour bus; remember, if you live in the scenic area and live in For many days, you must not come out of Jiadengyu, once you go out, you have to buy a ticket again)

ü On October 2, visit Kanas Sanwan and Kanas Lake; (personally recommend Shenxian Bay and Wolong Bay, Kanas Lake is also very shocking)

ü On October 3rd, visit Baihaba before 2 p.m., and then drive to Burqin (an epidemic broke out in Yili, Xinjiang that day, and many people’s journeys were affected. Fortunately, we basically finished playing; Baihaba feels that it is the least commercialized. Very beautiful small village, when buying a ticket, you can apply for a border defense certificate at the transfer center at the same time, it is strongly recommended to go there)

ü On October 4th, we were originally scheduled to visit the Irtysh River and the colorful beach. Due to the epidemic, we only enjoyed the beautiful scenery on the road. Changji Expressway for business, there is no security check at that expressway, so go directly to Faxiao’s house to rest)

ü On October 5th, depart from Changji to Wushi Airport and return.

4. What I want to tell you the most

1. Xinjiang is really too dry. As a northerner, I can’t stand it. I feel my face and lips are very dry every day, and the corners of my mouth are rotten in the next few days. Therefore, you must bring lipstick and moisturizing skin care products. Remember to take a vitamin tablet and eat more fruits. PS Fruits in Xinjiang are very cheap, and they are sold by the kilogram. Kur’er pears, various grapes (may not be grapes but they look alike), apples, cantaloupe, etc. are all delicious.

2. If you rent a car, Toyota Prado is very easy to use. There are 4 people in a car, and you can put 4 boxes (2 large and 2 small) in the trunk, some backpacks, and some sundries. Of course, it is best to book a lease in advance, otherwise The price is also very high, and other models can also be considered, depending on the person.

3. The law and order in most places in Xinjiang is very good, and the local people are also very enthusiastic, and they will get a response when they ask for directions; and the probability of seeing police stations and patrol cars is much higher than in other provinces.

4. Most of the signals in Xinjiang are quite good, except on some high-speed and national highways where the signal will be worse. Some people on the Internet said to prepare some small change. Even if it is a small stall, if you are really cautious, I personally suggest that you should prepare a maximum of 300 yuan. I belong to the kind that brings back as much as I prepare.

5. In Xinjiang, you must carry your ID card with you. It is unlikely to be checked at any time. The main thing is to refuel. You need to swipe your ID card when you enter the gas station. Before entering, all passengers except the driver must get down and wait outside; Just swipe the ID card again; when I swipe my ID card at a gas station, the portrait authentication always fails. I thought about it because the sun was too strong and the camera couldn’t capture the image, so I asked the administrator to stand beside me to help me Blocking the sun, sure enough, solved it.

6. Be sure to check the navigation the night before every cross-city trip, mainly to check the distribution of gas stations. Some gas stations in Xinjiang may run out of gas. In addition, the Prado I drive needs to add 92, and some gas stations do not have 92. The best way is to fill up the gas before you go out, and fill it up at the gas station when there is half of it left, don't choose, don't take chances.

7. It is strongly recommended not to drive late at night! Don't drive late! Don't drive late! On the first day in Xinjiang, we drove a night train on a national highway, with two-way single lanes, no guardrails in the middle, and no street lights on the road. Many large trucks drive far and turn off the lights. The overall driving is trembling, and there are no traffic lights at some intersections. It all depends on experience and experience. The tacit understanding is very dangerous; the next day, I drove the night train on the Duku Highway for 2 hours because of the time limit.

8. The most beautiful Xinjiang is on the road. Sometimes it is vast, sometimes towering mountains, and sometimes the route is winding. Both sides of the road are always beautiful. Don't pay too much attention to what scenic spots you go to. Whenever you think it is a beautiful place, park your car and let your eyes enjoy the beautiful scenery.
