Zhangye Danxia landforms are widely distributed, mainly in Linze and Sunan counties, covering an area of more than 300 square kilometers. It is one of the regions with the largest and best-developed Danxia landforms and the most abundant landforms in China. Zhangye Danxia landforms are mainly divided into two groups, north and south, which echo each other. The North Group is located in the Heli Mountains on the north side of Zhangye City, about 25 kilometers away from the urban area. The mountains in the north are low and gentle, with red, white and ocher red as the main colors. The southern group is centered on Baiyin Township, Sunan Yugur Autonomous County, about 40-50 kilometers away from the urban area. The Danxia landform in the southern group is relatively steep, with continuous bedding and clear texture.
