There are many Miao villages in southeast Guizhou, the most famous one is Xijiang Qianhu Miao village, but we went to another Miao village today, a little-known Miao village, this is Jidao Miao village. There is no hustle and bustle like Qianhu Miao Village here, and there is no commercial atmosphere like Qianhu Miao Village. This is the place we photographers like, simple, primitive and quiet.

Jidao Miao Village is located on the Bank of the Bala River. It is 20 kilometers drive from Kaili, the capital of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture. There is an inconspicuous branch road next to the national road near Guzhai. The branch road is very narrow and belongs to a one-way street. The way will be the car. Go straight from the branch road, pass the village entrance, and you can go directly to the bank of the Bala River. The river bank is very large, and you can park at will.

The moment I arrived at the village, I felt that time had stopped and everything was worth it. The village is surrounded by mountains and rivers, and the villagers are simple and hospitable. When we arrived at noon, this point was not the best time for photography, but everyone couldn't help but approached the village and recorded this quaint cottage with their mobile phones.

The quaint houses and the mottled light and shadow show the charm of the centuries-old village. When shooting in such an environment, it is necessary to extract as much light as possible to render the photos, so as to enhance the texture of the photos.

Most of the houses in Jidao Miao Village were built in the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, and have a history of two or three hundred years. After a long time of baptism, such a wooden wall marked with big characters makes time freeze instantly.

In addition to the bluestone road, there are still some cement trails in the village. After all, the times are advancing, and the old village also needs to be updated.

There are very few people in the village, and the artisans return home from get off work at noon, and rush to work on the construction site after lunch. This kind of life story is not unusual, but under the support of the century-old Miao Village, the story is longer and more intriguing.

In the aisle, I saw a bunch of small benches, stacked one on top of the other, and the light and shadow happened to fall here, and there is actually a sense of beauty in the staggered arrangement.

An original film straight out without any post-processing. There is a rusty iron nail on the wooden wall, and the just right sunlight casts a long shadow on the iron nail. The inexplicable beauty made me take this photo.

The young people in Jidao Miao Village have all gone out to work, and there are only old people and children in the village. Most of the old people in Jidao Miao Village can’t speak Chinese, so communicating with them basically depends on guessing. But I can really feel their simplicity and enthusiasm.
