In the summer of 2022, our family of three went to Guizhou for vacation, on the one hand to escape the heat, and on the other hand to relax. I write down our travel diary, which is convenient for readers to plan their trips.
We stayed in Guiyang and Huangguoshu for eight days in early August. The local temperature is between 21-31, suitable for short-sleeved shorts. The trousers and long-sleeved shirts we brought were useless. The sun in Guiyang is very strong at noon and it is relatively hot. Ladies, bring sunscreen. Anshun, where Huangguoshu is located, is in the mountains, and heavy rains come at any time, so you must bring an umbrella, which can not only block the rain but also shade the sun. Taking Didi in Guiyang is very convenient and inexpensive. We all take Didi instead of taking the subway.
August 2: Arrive in Guiyang
We took the afternoon flight and arrived in Guiyang at night. According to the epidemic prevention requirements, we uploaded the itinerary code, etc., and after a while, we left the airport. Take a taxi to the hotel. The hotel we live in is close to Qianlingshan Park and Jiaxiu Tower.
August 3: Visit Qianling Mountain Park
After sleeping until I woke up naturally, after breakfast, I took Didi to Qianlingshan Park. We enter the park from the south gate, we can take the cable car to the top of the mountain, and then walk down to play. Going up directly is still very tiring. Park tickets are 5 yuan per person (children under the age of 14 or under 1.4m are free of charge), and the cable car is 20 yuan for one way.
Get off the cable car at the top of the mountain, go down, and start to visit Qianlingshan Park. There are many macaques along the way. These macaques are not afraid of people. When they see food in people's hands, they will come up to grab it, even mineral water bottles. So, be sure to keep your stuff in your bag and avoid hassle. After a short walk, you will arrive at Hongfu Temple. The ticket is 2 yuan, including three incense sticks. Many places in the temple are under construction. We walked around and ate a vegetarian meal in the temple. During the epidemic, the buffet was 10 yuan per person. It was very poor and not recommended.
Come out of the temple, continue to go down, and you will arrive at the zoo. We have visited the zoo more times, so we just looked at it casually. Going down the mountain, you will arrive at Qianling Lake. The scenery here is very good, there are many snack bars, and boating, 15 yuan per hour per boat, very cheap. Renting a boat and rippling on the lake is a good choice.
After eating cold drinks and rowing, we walked through a tunnel (likely called Qianling Cave) to the exit of the gate. We played for a total of 4 hours. In the evening, we went to "Old Kaili Sour Soup Fish" for dinner. I heard that this one is very famous and has several branches. But we can't eat spicy food, sorry.
August 4: Jiaxiu Tower
I got up late, so I took a taxi to "Guichu Beef in Sour Soup" for early lunch. This is what I found in the reviews. The environment and dishes are very good. You can also order the non-spicy beef soup base, which suits our taste. After eating, I walked slowly for 15 minutes to Jiaxiu Tower. Jiaxiu Building is an ancient building, and you need to make an appointment to enter. We didn't make an appointment, so we could only look outside. There is also a flower orchard in the urban area of Guiyang, where you can see the night view of the "White House". The night scene light show, we watched too much, so we didn't go. In short, there are relatively few places to play in Guiyang.
August 5th: Arrive in Anshun, visit the Seven Star Bridge in Huangguoshu Scenic Area
Woke up early, ready to catch the 9:30 high-speed train to Anshun. I booked tickets for Huangguoshu Scenic Spot after I woke up, and found that online bookings can only be made 24 hours later. Check out, take a taxi to the high-speed rail station, high-speed rail to Anshun, everything goes well. After getting off the high-speed rail, there is a bus from the high-speed rail station to the scenic spot, 22 per person. After thinking about it, I took a black car to Huangguoshu scenic spot, which cost 120 yuan. The advantage of taking a taxi is that it is fast and takes us directly to the hotel. The master on the bus told me that I can buy tickets on the spot, and I was also relieved.
The Galaxy Holiday Hotel we stayed in is very close to the ticketing center of the scenic spot, and the hotel is very clean. It may be due to the epidemic, there are few tourists staying in the hotel, and the hotel is empty. After putting away our luggage, we went to a nearby restaurant for lunch. Compared with the restaurants in Guiyang, the restaurants here are 30% more expensive, and the food is poor. So don't have high expectations, just make do with it.
After eating, go to the ticket center to buy tickets, and you can buy tickets as you go, without queuing. Adults 220/person, children 60/person. After returning to Guiyang, the service staff of the hotel where I stayed told me that during the peak season, tickets cannot be bought on the spot, and tickets must be booked in advance 24 hours in advance. It may be because of the epidemic that there are a lot fewer tourists. When visiting Huangguoshu Scenic Area, you can wear sandals with non-slip soles. If you wear sneakers, be sure to have waterproof and non-slip shoe covers. There are shoe covers sold in the scenic area, 10 yuan/set. After buying the tickets, we queued up to get on the sightseeing bus (by the way, the tickets booked in the morning were refunded). There are three scenic spots in Huangguoshu Scenic Area: Steep Pond, Huangguoshu Waterfall, and Seven Star Bridge. Among them, the Seven Star Bridge is the biggest attraction, and we plan to spend the whole afternoon playing the Seven Star Bridge. At 1:00 in the afternoon, I got on the sightseeing car and soon arrived at the entrance of the Qixing Bridge scenic spot.
The scenic spot of Seven Star Bridge is divided into two routes: upper and lower. There are no waterfalls on the way up, just mountains and rivers, and many places have such scenery. There are several waterfalls on the next journey, among which the "Silver Chain Falling Pool Waterfall" is very spectacular. We played for more than four hours in the afternoon and were very tired from walking. If time is tight, try to play next time.
August 6th: Visit Huangguoshu Waterfall, Doupo Pond, return to Guiyang
Get up early in the morning, have a buffet breakfast at the hotel, and then take a sightseeing bus to visit the Great Falls. Huangguoshu Scenic Area opens at 7 o'clock, so try to avoid tourist groups as early as possible. When visiting the Great Falls, you must wear a raincoat. One-time use is fine. If you don’t use it, you will throw it away after playing. Some people sell sightseeing cars, 3 or 4 for 10 yuan, you can prepare them in advance.
It was already 8 o'clock when we got on the sightseeing bus, and we arrived at the Great Falls attraction in half an hour. You can take the escalator up and down when you visit the Great Falls. We chose to walk down and take the escalator up after playing. Escalator one-way 30 yuan / person. It takes about 15 minutes to walk down. There are very few people on the road. You can take a look at the scenery and see the distant view of the Great Falls. If it is a young person, it should be no problem to walk up after playing.
The further you go down, the greater the water vapor and the louder the sound, it is a big waterfall. Attached is a close up. I heard that during the peak season, there will be a queue of several hours here, and many people have to give up and go back the same way. Although there are many people at this time, there is no need to line up and walk around casually.
Then queue up to Shuiliandong, because the cave is relatively small, so you have to queue up. The line kept moving and was soon in the hole. After entering the cave, you can see the waterfall from behind. There is a lot of water vapor in the cave, try to put things in a raincoat to avoid getting wet.
After exiting the cave, go down, and you can see the Great Falls from below. There are a total of six angles to see the Great Falls. Huangguoshu Waterfall is the largest waterfall in my country, but compared with Niagara Falls, it is much smaller.
After playing for two hours, we left the waterfall and went to Doupotang. Compared with the Great Waterfall and Qixing Bridge, Doupotang is much worse. I think this scenic spot is only because the TV series "Journey to the West" was filmed in Doupotang. We walked around and left. If time is tight and you only have one day to play, you can visit the Great Falls and Qixing Bridge and give up Doupo Pond.
Back to the hotel at noon and checked out, went to the station to take the bus back to Anshun. The bus stops at two stops in Anshun: Anshun West Station and Anshun Railway Station. The fare is the same as 22/person. I wanted to book a high-speed rail ticket in the car, but it was only at night, so I could only book a green leather ticket. Fortunately, the terminal of the bus is Anshun Railway Station. During the two days of playing, there will be heavy rain for half an hour from time to time, so you must bring an umbrella.
After returning to Guiyang, we changed hotels, this time we stayed next to Huaxi Park.
August 7: Visit Huaxi Park
Woke up early in the morning, had a buffet breakfast, and couldn't wait to go to Huaxi Park. It takes only 5 minutes to walk from the hotel to the park entrance. Huaxi Park is known as the back garden of Guiyang. The Huaxi District where Guizhou University is located is far from the urban area. From Huaxi to Guiyang North Railway Station or the airport, it will cost 60 or 70 by taxi. Huaxi Park does not require tickets, you can enter by scanning the health code. The park is so big that you can't go shopping for half a day. There are several gates in the park, and there are many restaurants, pedestrian streets, and snack bars when you go out from the other gates.
August 8: Visit Huaxi Park
Originally, I planned to go to Libo Xiaoqikong to play, but when the child heard that he would have to walk in the scenic spot for 6 hours, he backed down and refused to go. Claiming to have been to the big Jiuzhai, why go to the small Jiuzhai again. We can only continue to visit the park and eat delicious food.
August 9: Visit Qingyan Ancient Town
Instead of going to Libo Xiaoqikong, go to Qingyan Ancient Town. The ancient town is not far from Huaxi District, about 20 yuan by taxi. Tickets for foreigners are 60 yuan/person, which is very unfriendly (10-20 yuan for locals). The commercial atmosphere in the ancient town is very strong, and there is nothing special about it. We went shopping, found a restaurant at noon, and ate local specialties: braised pig's trotters and sour plum juice.
August 10: Depart Guiyang
I booked a ticket for the afternoon and went to Huaxi Park in the morning. I found a bar and restaurant in the park called TripSmith, which opened on the 6th, and had lunch there. It's the end of our trip.
