Guizhou Travel Notes

Our family of 4 (me, the old woman, my son and daughter-in-law) departed from Chengdu on August 9th for a trip to Guizhou. My son drove the car, and it was hot and hard. I entered Guizhou from Bijie on the same day, and it took 10 days. On August 18th, I departed from Chishui. Return to Chengdu from Luchi Expressway via Chengcheng. Stay in Bijie on the 9th, stay in Huangguoshu on the 10th and 11th, the local area is full of hotels in the form of farmhouses, the Four Seasons Hotel is good; live by the pond on the 12th, go to Tianyan in the morning on the 13th, and stay at the Yuhang Inn in Tianwen Town at night, which is also good , clean and hygienic; set off early on the 14th to go to Xijiang Miao Village, but when I arrived, I found that there were too many people at the entrance. The traffic control made a decisive U-turn at the entrance and went to Xiasi Ancient Town via the expressway. I stayed for 2 nights. The stone hotel at the gate where I stayed on the 15th was good. Newly opened, the facilities are good, clean and hygienic; there was a performance in the ancient town on the evening of the 14th, but unfortunately I didn’t see it; I left for Zunyi early in the morning on the 16th, and stayed at the Charming Pearl Hotel that day. Stayed in Chishui that night; I visited more places this time, and now I have two small notes, one is the Zhijin Cave. 2. Pingtang "Sky Eye". Funding comfort and publicity.

1. Zhijin Cave
Located in Zhijin County, Guizhou Province, Zhijin Cave is a great masterpiece formed by nature. For the first time in our lives we saw each other. The situation at the end is unimaginable. It is worthwhile to see the strange things in reality. It's just that I didn't see any publicity and explanation materials on the spot, and I only describe it superficially based on my own experience and knowledge.

Zhijin Cave is a unique natural karst cave in the limestone area. It is not a magical work. It can only be formed in the limestone area, and it is absolutely impossible to form in other rock formation areas. The principle is that limestone is composed of calcium carbonate (caco3), which is easily soluble in water. The groundwater dissolves along the underground fissures and expands into fissures.

Then gradually dissolve and expand into caves. Several halls (caves) seem to see the sky, vertically and horizontally: the space is about 70 meters. It's so hard to imagine, it's amazing. In the Zhijin Cave we have seen so far, several halls are connected by small holes, and it took at least millions to tens of millions or even hundreds of millions of years to complete. is a slow process.

After the caves are formed, there will be surface water seeping downwards, and the water containing calcium carbonate ions will drip downwards at the top of the caves. Because the speed is very slow, calcium carbonate ions will :: deposit on the roof of the cave when they stop before dripping, and :: deposit to form stalactites. The undeposited drips in the cave, and the water at the bottom deposits to form stalagmites. Hundreds of millions of years later, the formation of stone pillars is mainly due to the connection of stalagmites and stalactites. If the water containing calcium carbonate ions sinks to the wall of the cave, it will form stalactite columns on the wall of the cave. Because the calcium carbonate just deposited from the water will not solidify and form immediately, it will flow slowly and form various shapes, such as a human, a bird, and a double human in the shape of a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. ...and so on.

Of course, because scholars discovered the strange mystery of this cave, they carried out artificial development and finishing: repairing, dredging, building ladders, building toilets, electrifying, naming and other artistic processing, forming the current appearance, which is commendable. Worth a visit. It is the first time in our life that we have seen such a natural wonder. The motherland has such a magnificent and peculiar beauty. It is recommended that everyone who is interested come here to see it. Don't miss the opportunity and leave no regrets. Attached is a poem to soothe my mind:

The Zhijin Cave, a natural wonder, is so mysterious that it is difficult to describe it. It's not magical workmanship, don't lose the view of life

Attached are some photos of the cave:

2. Pingtang "Sky Eye", the world's first telescope

The "Sky Eye" in Pingtang, Guizhou has a mirror surface of 500M. It is the world's first astronomical radio telescope in China. Purely based on scientific and technological strength. It took nearly 20 years from conception and site selection to completion. This is a manifestation of national strength and technological level. We have solved many problems and built the world's first. Four newest pulsars have been discovered with Sky Eye, and some hypotheses have been confirmed. It is a major contribution to world astronomy. It also contributed to the improvement of the lives of the local people in the future, transforming a small mountain village into an astronomical town. Neat houses, street construction, big hotels, supporting facilities of Sky Eye, transportation construction, and engineering are very great, and the future development of tourism will be even more limitless. Now the supporting facilities are not enough, and the number of tourists has to be limited. Only 2,000 people can be received every day, and there are no promotional materials. What's even more regrettable is that you can't directly observe celestial bodies with the "eye of the sky". I don't know if it will be possible in the future?

But you can buy tickets to watch the astronomical experience hall, astronomical theater, and flying theater. Located near the ticket office, it is very convenient, but the ticket price is a bit too expensive, and there is suspicion of base renovation. The astronomical experience hall is some text pictures and some simulated real objects. Tianxiang Cinema and Flying Cinema have high technological content. Not only children, but also young and middle-aged people should go and see it. It mainly introduces the situation of astronomy and celestial bodies, and introduces them in the form of a movie. The spherical screen is huge, and the seats are moving, which is worth seeing. Some photos are also attached. Since the Sky Eye is not allowed to take pictures, I can only post some photos inside the museum:

A little poem to comfort my heart:

The old man likes to make an ode to the evening (note) 80 years of traveling and harvesting a lot, the first time in his life to see China's "Sky Eye" big technology

It is the first place in the world to search and discover new stars in the universe and interstellar. It has contributed to the increase of the astronomy family.

It is difficult to see wonders, but it is difficult to grow. Think tanks have no boundaries and create richness.

Note: It is a poem by Ye Jianying.
