travel date

There are three considerations for the final selection of the 8-day self-driving tour from June 12 to June 19, 2021:

1. Dragon Boat Festival holiday: Although there is only one day off for Dragon Boat Festival, but if you take 4 days off, you can have 9 days (6.12-6.20) of continuous travel time. Finally, it was decided to return on 6.19 a day earlier. First, under the premise that the physical strength can be tolerated, all the important scenic spots have been covered, and there is no need to stay for another day; the second is to stay one day to come back for renovations, in case the back and leg pain cannot be relieved and moved back. Brick is too bad.

2. Off-peak travel: the May Day holiday has passed, and the summer vacation has not yet arrived. June, when the Dragon Boat Festival is held, is the most suitable time window for short- and medium-distance travel. Facts have proved that this time I also avoided the crowds, and it can be said that there was no queue in the whole process (except for the Red Cloud Golden Summit of Fanjing Mountain, which was slightly delayed because of the steep steps). In short, it is a very good experience to avoid the travel anxiety of the crowds.

3. Early summer climate: Guizhou enters summer from June, that is, the rainy season, which lasts until October. Although there are many troubles in the rainy season, there are many waterfalls in Guizhou. How can the fun of watching water be without enough rainwater? However, 3 days before the departure of this trip, I received a new round of rainstorm warning in Guizhou, and I was still worried. After all, there is a whole week's self-driving journey, and Huangguoshu, Fanjing Mountain needs to be measured and climbed with both feet~ Later, I found out that the rain in Guizhou often comes and goes in a hurry, and it usually happens in the morning. As long as we persist a little, it is basically around 11 o'clock It can be sunny. So this road was able to relax and experience the beauty of the mountains and rivers calmly. Of course, Guizhou in early summer is still unavoidably humid and hot, and you will basically be sweating profusely throughout the day. It's just that I don't care about it because of my physique that is afraid of cold but not heat.

4. Small Easter eggs flying from outside the sky: After setting the time, I found that Guizhou will select several provinces, cities and regions every year to give free tickets to scenic spots, and from June to mid-August 2021, it happens to be given to the people of Shanghai ( With ID card) free ticket discount. Suddenly feeling hit by an easter egg? However, there are sightseeing cars and cable cars in many scenic spots, and tickets need to be purchased.

Pre-departure equipment

Another advantage of being close to the Dragon Boat Festival is that it is directly adjacent to 618, so the purchase of equipment before the trip can be done at a pleasant price. (Here is really a personal shopping record, and there is no "business")

The following are introduced in order of importance:

 1. A pair of lightweight, non-slip, waterproof, and beautiful outdoor professional white shoes: In Colombia, which was hurriedly done the weekend before departure, the offline shopping malls cost less than 800 (the original price was around 1200). Considering the rain and mountain roads along the way, only anti-slip is the top priority. If you fall, it will greatly disappoint the good intentions of travel. Therefore, after comparison, I still firmly choose outdoor professional brands. At that time, I was still struggling to buy black or white. After all, there were many mountain roads and rain on this trip, so I was very worried that white would not be dirty. But the facts have proved that the little white shoes have fulfilled their mission all the way, the before and after looks are always online, and they can be matched with all kinds of clothes when taking pictures at any time. I am glad that I made the right choice.

2. A light-colored assault singlet that is windproof and rainproof: I don’t know when the so-called assault jacket has only referred to the outerwear (in the past, the liner was an important part of the assault jacket). I chose the North Face short style in light beige. I saw it in an offline store before departure, and it cost 1200 after the discount, so I didn’t buy it. On the weekend before my departure, I went back to find that all the new summer skin clothes were on sale in the mall. I found it on a certain website. After the discount was 800+, I placed an order decisively. Choose light beige because it can contrast the skin tone and have the effect of polishing the board. The short style is more light and summery. The temperature in Guizhou has a large temperature difference between morning and evening, so you need a light jacket that can protect you from wind and rain, just in case. Especially for Mount Fanjing, when the foot of the mountain is 30°, the top of the mountain is only 10+°, and the wind and rain can appear at any time, so charging single clothes is a must for mountaineering. In fact, I really only wore this dress once on the day when I climbed Mount Fanjing. Therefore, lightness is also for the convenience of portability.

3. Slim raincoat with split buttons: Raincoats are more useful than umbrellas when climbing mountains, because it is inconvenient to hold umbrellas when there are many climbers. In addition, raincoats can also free your hands for holding railings or taking pictures. When choosing a raincoat, remember to choose the one with two buttons, because it is convenient to put on and take off at any time, and it can also be ventilated when it is sultry. The pullover raincoat bought by a friend in the same company is very laborious to put on and take off frequently while carrying a backpack (the rain suddenly heavy and then stops suddenly, and it feels stuffy from time to time). Regarding the style of self-cultivation, the main reason is that when encountering strong winds, if the raincoat is not self-cultivating enough, the raincoat will be blown up, which will affect the actions and the actions of the friends around you. I brought the rain poncho I bought in the supermarket in front of Universal Studios Japan back then. It was very thick and durable. I brought a small square bag, which could be folded and stored after use without getting other items wet.

4. Hair dryer: Due to the humid weather in Guizhou, it is impossible to dry the clothes of the previous night if you change your travel itinerary in a different place every day. So, I brought a blow dryer, both for drying my hair and drying my clothes.

Itinerary formulation

At first, I had no idea where to go in China this year. Jump out of the beautiful scenery of Fanjing Mountain at any time, and plant grass in an instant. Therefore, step by step to explore the places that can be played in Guizhou, and gradually completed all the itinerary. Since I went to Guizhou for the first time, I habitually wanted to follow the previous way of traveling around a country by car abroad. Fortunately, the most important scenic spots in Guizhou can just form a circle.

6 important attractions:

1. Huangguoshu Waterfall

2. Qingyan Ancient Town

3. Libo Xiaoqikong

4. Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village

5. Zhenyuan Ancient City

6. Mount Fanjing

Guiyang is both the starting point and the ending point, mainly due to the large number of flights. Looking at other travel notes, there are also direct flights to Anshun Airport, starting from Huangguoshu. But considering renting a car, it is speculated that Guiyang Airport is more convenient. As for whether it is clockwise or counterclockwise, there is no particular tendency for individuals. The reason why I chose counterclockwise is because I feel that Fanjingshan may be the most tiring place on this trip. I will feel tired from the journey when I first arrive. I hope to proceed step by step. Moreover, only two nights of accommodation were arranged for Fanjing Mountain during the entire itinerary, also in case of exhaustion after climbing the mountain. When I actually walked down, I found that Huangguoshu was the most physically exhausting, 18,000+ steps on the first day, and the calf was sore in the next few days, and it was difficult to go downstairs. It was not until the last time I went to Fanjing Mountain that I just recovered. However, because of Huangguoshu's exercise, I didn't feel too much after Fanjing Mountain. I felt relaxed. The second night's stay in Fanjing Mountain was quite leisurely.

Proper self-driving tour

Since the scenic spots in Guizhou are relatively scattered, with a distance of 200-300km, it is recommended that traveling by car is more convenient. Of course, at least 2 drivers are needed in the team for replacement. Since my friends and I have been used to driving by ourselves in the past few years, we have not studied any other ways of sightseeing during this trip.

high speed:

Generally speaking, the roads in Guizhou are quite easy to drive, there are few cars on the expressway, and the road surface is also good. Although there will be ups and downs, there are always beautiful hills on both sides, and the scenery is pleasant even if you take a photo. Generally, the far right of the high-speed toll booth is the manual toll booth. If you rent a car without ETC, just keep to the right. The high-speed speed limit is 110-120km/h, but there are many tunnels. Once you enter the tunnel, the speed limit is 80km/h. Some expressways have partial interval speed measurements. For example, a section of the Shanghai-Kunming Expressway is a section from Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang to Zhenyuan Ancient Town. There is an 80km interval speed measurement. The rest stops in the middle of the expressway usually have relatively simple facilities, gas stations + toilets are necessary, and sometimes there are small supermarkets. However, the restrooms in Guizhou, whether they are rest stops or scenic spots, are generally relatively clean and have no peculiar smell, so they need to be praised manually.

This time the whole journey is about 1390km. Only in Guiyang, the road surface is in poor condition, the road surface is uneven, and there are often deep pits, which will cause damage to the shock absorber~ The roads in other places are relatively easy to drive, except for Xijiang Miao Village and Fanjing There will be a mountain road with some slopes near the mountain, so you can rest assured by other self-driving cars.

Highway fees for all routes are as follows:

Guiyang-Huangguoshu: 69RMB

Huangguoshu-Qingyan Ancient Town: 60RMB

Qingyan Ancient Town-Libo Xiaoqikong Town: 153RMB

Xiaoqikong Town - Libo County: 24RMB

Libo County-Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village: 127RMB

Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village - Zhenyuan Ancient City: 82RMB

Zhenyuan Ancient Town - Fanjing Mountain: 100RMB

Parking Fee

Basic hotels will provide free parking (or reimbursement for parking fees), and parking fees at scenic spots are not expensive

Huangguoshu: 10RMB/time

Qingyan Ancient Town: 30RMB (stop for one night)

Xiaoqikong: 19RMB (we played for about 3 hours in the afternoon)

Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village West Gate Ecological Parking Lot: 30RMB (one night)

Zhenyuan Ancient Town: 15RMB (stopped for about 3 hours)

Fanjingshan dinner parking: 15RMB

Car wash: 30RMB (Is the national unified price now?)

driving safety

The speed of local vehicles is relatively fast, and sometimes they will change lanes in a straight line to overtake. Generally, motor vehicles must give way when encountering pedestrians. Motorcycles, bicycles, or humans sometimes appear on the highway. In short, when traveling, it is better to pay attention to yourself.

Ticket purchase and admission time reservation

This trip to Guizhou can basically be done through the official account of the scenic spot, which is very convenient

Generally, the official account will have a "service" option, where you can order tickets and make an appointment. If not, there will be a dedicated ticketing official account.

When ordering tickets and making time reservations, please pay attention to the following points:

1. Order directly from the official account, the easiest and most convenient

Usually, I am more used to ordering tickets from some travel platforms, such as dp, ctrip, etc.; but in fact, all major scenic spots now have their own official accounts, which are the most direct ordering platforms, and the information is the most comprehensive and clear.

Several official accounts:

Ticket purchase steps: select the date - select the specific time period for entering the park - fill in personal information (ID card can be photographed for identification number) - pay

For example: when ordering tickets for Mount Fanjing, a certain platform gave "arbitrary allocation of admission time", which is not very conducive to travel arrangements

In addition, when ordering on the official account, you can also receive timely information about the temporary closure or opening of scenic spots

2. Purchase tickets and reserve time for popular attractions in advance

Although this trip is in the off-season, there are no reservations for all attractions, but it is generally recommended to purchase and reserve tickets for attractions in advance before travelling.

I read the guide before and found that the most popular is Mount Fanjing. Check the official account of Mount Fanjing, and you can make an appointment 3 days in advance, starting at 7:30 in the morning.

3. Planning of admission time

Due to the long distance between scenic spots in Guizhou, 200-300km, self-driving tours have to consider how to reasonably arrange three things: play time, accommodation, and driving distance.

The schedule of this trip is for your reference. According to personal driving speed, meal time, and buffer reservation, the reservation time for admission can be adjusted accordingly~

Play and driving schedule:

D1 Arrive in Guiyang-Huangguoshu

I chose a comfortable flight time, and the total price is around 1700RMB.

Outbound: Juneyao Airlines HO1209 (Snacks provided) Shanghai Hongqiao T2 10:55-13:25 Guiyang Longdongbao Airport T2

Return trip: FM9464 (with dinner) Guiyang Longdongbao Airport T2 11:00-13:35 Shanghai Hongqiao T2

Drive directly from the airport, heading Huangguoshu.

The hotel chose Huangguoshu Aidu Art Hotel, a group of 4 people, two rooms for 1 night, a total of 482RMB, located on the west side of Huangguoshu Scenic Area. The entrance of the entire scenic spot is on the east side, but it takes about 7 minutes and 3.7km to drive there. There are various restaurants near the entrance of the scenic spot for dinner. I drank "Maotai Puree" that night hhh

D2 Huangguoshu

For tickets and related information of the scenic spot, you can follow the official account of "Huangguoshu Scenic Spot" to purchase tickets online, make an appointment for admission time, etc. From provinces and cities with free ticket discounts, pay attention to choose the corresponding ticket type.

Basically, it is a combined package of tickets, sightseeing cars, escalators (there are escalators in the Great Falls Scenic Area that can be used to save energy, and the escalators are divided into one-way and two-way), accident insurance (must buy). If it belongs to a province and city with a free ticket discount, the ticket fee can be waived, and the package price for the rest is 110RMB according to the two-way escalator. Tickets can be booked on the day, and it is recommended to make an appointment in advance during the peak season.

Huangguoshu Scenic Area is divided into three small scenic spots: Steep Pond, Tianxing Bridge, and Great Waterfall.

Entering from the entrance of the scenic spot, you will take a scenic sightseeing bus. The mode is similar to that of Jiuzhaigou, that is, a sightseeing bus station is set up in each small scenic spot. After visiting the small scenic spot, take a bus from the sightseeing bus station to the next small scenic spot.

Because there are not many people during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, our tour order will follow the normal order of Doupotang-Tianxing Bridge-Great Waterfall. It is said that when there are many people in the peak season, the tour group is also in this order, so individual travelers will suggest to doubotang-big waterfall-tianxing bridge first to avoid large groups.

D2-1 Steep Pond

Steep Pond is a place with wide surface and gentle drop. Looking at it from a distance, there is no special surprise. It is said to be the filming location of the 86 edition of Journey to the West.

D2-2 Star Bridge

The Tianxing Bridge scenic spot is divided into upper and lower halves, and is the scenic spot with the most small scenic spots.

The first half includes Tianxing Lake, Tianxing Cave, Basin Scenic Area, Water Stone Forest, and of course the most beautiful is the Yinlianzhuitan Waterfall in the second half.

The first half may be the most exquisite bonsai area. Following the stone engraved with 365 days, detour between the walkways with green stones and pools, there is a sense of fun of hiding.

Guizhou karst cave landscape is also very rich, the most famous is the Zhijin Cave, which I did not go this time. The Tianxing Cave in the Tianxing Bridge Scenic Area is already pretty good.

In the second half of the favorite Yinlianzhuitan Waterfall, the water rushes in, and the boulders pile up underneath, suddenly increasing the drop, and rushing all the way to the place where the tourists are standing. Suddenly, it seems that there is only a very small water outlet, so the momentum is even more grand. Get up~ Sticking to the rock wall, looking at the rushing water near your feet, a sense of grandeur blows over your face, which is amazing~

Let's experience a dynamic silver chain falling into the pool waterfall

D2-3 Great Waterfall

When I came to the scenic spot of the Great Falls, the sky had already started to clear up, and the moment I finally saw the blue sky, I was very excited~~

For me, the Great Waterfall is the favorite place in the entire Huangguoshu Scenic Area~~~Due to the heavy rain in the past two days, the water flow of the Great Waterfall is extremely abundant~ The rushing water flow starts from the moment I see the Great Waterfall from a distance. There is the sound of rumbling water accompanied by misty water~ I couldn’t help cheering as I got closer~ I raised my phone to take a picture of this beautiful scene, and when I opened it, I found that there happened to be a bird flying in front of the waterfall. Big birds like phoenixes or peacocks~~~ I feel very lucky to be able to capture this moment inadvertently~ The original impression of the Great Falls may be yellow and turbid water, but it is so holy and white when I witness it with my own eyes!

Two days before the departure, I received a notice from the official account of Huangguoshu Scenic Area, saying that some scenic spots in the scenic area were temporarily closed due to too much rain, including several small scenic spots in the Great Waterfall and Tianxing Bridge, but the notice was reopened the night before departure. During the tour that day, only the Water Curtain Cave of the Great Falls was still closed and not open, and it was restored only 2 days after we left.

D3-1 Qingyan Ancient Town

It was evening when we arrived at Qingyan Ancient Town, and it seemed that there was no need for a ticket to enter the ancient town at that time.

After dinner, I wandered around the ancient town. I happened to encounter a themed performance in the ancient town at night. I went to sleep after watching for a while.

In the evening in the ancient town, there are hills in the distance, a bit like the foot of Mount Fuji

The next morning, I entered the scenic spot again (you need to make an appointment on the official account to enter the park, and you can do it on the spot in time), go to have breakfast, go shopping on the back street, and have a bit of flavor

D3-2 Libo Xiaoqikong

It was already 1 or 2 pm when we arrived at Xiaoqikong. It takes 2 and a half days to add the small seven holes and the big seven holes together. The Xiaoqikong ticket is a two-day ticket, so you can enter it in two days.

There are more and more essential attractions in the small seven holes, so D3 mainly played the small seven holes in the afternoon, and the big seven holes can be arranged flexibly in the morning of D4.

Xiaoqikong generally enters from the west gate for individual tourists and self-driving tours, and enters from the east gate for group tours.

D3 enters from the west gate to play the small seven holes, and D4 enters from the east gate in the morning, which is the big seven holes scenic spot.

There are Wolong Lake, Yuanyang Lake, Water Forest, Cuigu Waterfall, Laya Waterfall, 68-level Xiangshuihe Waterfall, Xiaoqikong Ancient Bridge, etc. in the Xiaoqikong Scenic Area.

The water in Wolongtan is similar to jade color, with a feeling of tranquility.

Yuanyang Lake is a boating tour, 1 hour, you need to row your own boat to shuttle between it, it is also quiet green, the lake is shaded by trees

The viewing angle of Cuigu Waterfall is very friendly. The overall surface is wide and open in front of you. The delicate waterfall hangs down from the hillside. On the way, it encounters scattered stones and is separated into different water flows. I like it very much~

Raya Waterfall is basically passing by along the way without leaving any impression.

The 68-level Xiangshuihe Waterfall, tourists climb down the steps on one side, and the wide Xiangshui River is on the right side. It is a very good experience to accompany them all the way~

above picture

Wolongtan

Cruise on Yuanyang Lake

Cuigu Waterfall is very happy

The 68-step Xiangshuihe Waterfall is a landscape along the way, not a scenic spot in a certain place

Along the Xiangshui River, there will be a waterfall across the sidewalk on the way, hahahaha

The Xiaoqikong Ancient Bridge is not particularly amazing. The water was high when we went and the vegetation was so lush that the holes seemed small. Fortunately, there are not many tourists, and you can take pictures when there is an empty bridge deck.

D4-1 Libo Big Seven Holes

On the morning of the fourth day, I entered Daqikong. Time was limited, so I walked through it quickly. In order to save time, the first section took an electric boat tour at Daqikong and arrived at the lake. After a short walk, we saw the Tiansheng Bridge. I didn’t go to see the Daqikong Ancient Bridge because it was too late.

Tianshengqiao is the favorite of Daqikong.

D4-2 Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang

First upload the picture, and slowly fill in the text :P

When I first arrived in Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang, the sky was a bit cloudy, but the photos taken by my mobile phone turned out to be good, with more light

In the evening, the night scene when the lanterns first come on is another flavor.

To be continued. . .
