Zhenyuan Ancient City (Zhenyuan Ancient Town) is located in Zhenyuan County, Zhoudongnan, Guizhou. The river meanders through the city in an "S" shape, forming a pattern similar to a Taiji diagram, so it is also called Bagua Ancient Town. The ancient city is divided into two by the Wuyang River. The north bank is the place where the old soldiers were stationed, which is called the Acropolis; the south bank is where the administrative agencies and civilian businesses gather, and it is called the Fucheng. There are still some ancient city walls and city gate ruins in the city. There are two bridges on the Wuyang River. The west side is newly built, and the locals call it the New Bridge. The east side of the Zhusheng Bridge is a landmark building in Zhenyuan Ancient City, and the locals call it the Old Bridge. There is a three-story pavilion on the bridge. It used to be the main channel connecting Hunan and Guizhou, and it has been known as the "throat of Hunan and Guizhou" since ancient times.
The ancient town in the early morning is relatively quiet and the environment is very good. After eating Yuanmei’s tofu nao for breakfast, I walked along the Wuyang River, from the south bank to the north bank. After visiting the old bridge and the new bridge, I had a look at the appearance of the ancient town again. Nearly 11:00, we set off for Qianhu Miao Village. When we arrived at Miao Village, we became Miao people, wore Miao costumes, danced Miao Village dances, lived in Miao Village buildings, and ate Miao local products. It happened to be a market that day, so I bought a native chicken and made a pure native chicken soup. In the evening, I also went to watch the spectacular night view of the Miao village, the world's largest Miao village, and the lights of thousands of families built on the mountain, which was spectacular and shocking. Although Qianhu Miao Village is a very mature scenic spot, it is still a simple Miao style, which is worth a visit.

The first stop, military fortress, Longli Ancient Town
Longli Ancient City is located between Jinping County and Liping County in Southeast Guizhou. This magnificent ancient city was built in the 19th year of Hongwu (1386) in the Ming Dynasty and built in the summer of Yongle (1404). It is an important military castle in the Ming Dynasty. In 1385 AD, Zhu Zhen, the sixth son of Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang, mobilized officials and troops from nine provinces in the south of the Yangtze River to suppress the Wu Mian uprising in Guzhou, set up a thousand households in Longli, and built an ancient city at the same time. He was ordered to reclaim and guard the border to guard here, and the ancient castle was built again during the Yongle period. In the fifteenth year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1658), "Longli" was changed to "Longli" by taking the meaning of "Longsheng". It is the "Seoul" of the Dong nationality area. The ancient city of Longli has a history of more than 600 years. There are a large number of historical sites in the city to appreciate. The ancient city wall, four ancient city gates, ancient streets and alleys are all places worth pondering. The buildings in the city have the courtyard style in Beijing, exquisite Anhui folk houses, and Jiangxi folk houses. The planning of the city takes into account the role of military defense everywhere. The ancient city is not big, but it is really special. It is worth mentioning that there is no development in the ancient city of Longli, and the degree of commercialization is very low. Even places to eat can only be found outside the village.
The second stop, Zhaoxing Dong Village to see the Drum Tower
Zhaoxing Dong Village is located at the junction of Liping County and Congjiang County. It is one of the largest Dong villages in southeast Guizhou, covering an area of 180,000 square meters, with more than 800 households and more than 4,000 people. It is known as the "No. 1 Village in Dong Village" reputation. Zhaoxing Dong Village is surrounded by mountains on all sides. The village is built in a basin in the mountains, and a small river passes through the village. The houses in the village are stilted buildings with stilts, row upon row, well-proportioned, all built with Chinese fir, and covered with small green tiles on the hard hilltop, which is simple and practical. The Zhaoxing Dong villages are all Dong people with the surname Lu, and they are divided into five major families, living in five natural areas, which are called "Tuan" locally. It is divided into five groups: benevolence group, righteous group, ritual group, intellectual group and letter group. Each group has its own Fengyu Bridge and Drum Tower, each with its own characteristics, and it is worth watching one by one. The journey from the gate of the scenic spot to Dongzhai is about three kilometers. It is recommended to buy a scenic spot transportation vehicle to enter.
The third stop, Libo Ancient Town After admiring the largest drum tower group, we continued on our way and arrived at Libo Ancient Town at around 7:00 pm, because we chose to stay in the ancient town mainly because it is relatively convenient to eat and live in the town. Stay at Xingyalou Inn, take a break and go to the nearby snack street to taste Guizhou's special hot pot "fish in sour soup"!
D5 (20th), Libo-China Tianyan Science Popularization Base (200)
Libo Xiaoqikong Scenic Spot is located among the peaks in the south of Libo County. There is a seven-hole arch bridge made of bluestone across the Xiangshui River in the scenic spot, so it gets its name. The scenic spot integrates mountains, water, forests, caves, lakes and waterfalls into one. It is beautiful and quiet, and the strong Tujia and Yao customs make Xiaoqikong scenic spot famous.
After entering from the east gate of the scenic spot, you can take the battery car of the scenic spot to visit the scenic spots one by one. Visit the Xiaoqikong Ancient Bridge, the symbol of Xiaoqikong Scenic Area, and then look at the 68-level waterfall. Then enjoy the unique landscape of Xiaoqikong - Water Forest, which is a good place to shoot large landscape films. Continue forward to Wolongtan, and then come to the finale of the scenic spot—Yuanyang Lake. The water of Yuanyang Lake is green and dignified. It is named after two towering trees side by side in the lake. The scenery is very charming. We took a boat trip and saw three old people selling homemade bamboo rice by the lake, and each bought a bamboo rice, small fish, and chestnuts to eat.
Daqikong Scenic Area is located in Libo Scenic Area. It is named after a bridge with seven holes on the Mengtang River. The main attraction of Daqikong is the karst canyon and Tiansheng bridge. It is much smaller than Xiaoqikong. Compared with the well-developed Xiaoqikong, Daqikong has more fun of exploration.
From Libo, we drove to Pingtang China Tianyan Science Popularization Base. Because the base is in the deep mountains, it is relatively remote. The road is not long and tortuous. When we arrived at the base, it was already dark. After staying, the enthusiastic boss served the special bacon and fried bamboo shoots for dinner.
Therefore, it is called Aerospace Town because of the reason of the China Sky Eye Base, and because of the small town in the Sky Eye Base that became prosperous.
D6 (21st), China Tianyan Science Base - Qingyan Ancient Town (130)
China Sky Eye—FAST (Five hundred meters Aperture Spherical Telescope, referred to as FAST), was completed and put into use on September 25, 2016. It is located in Pingtang County, Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. It is the largest single-aperture spherical radio telescope in the world. . We are here to feel the latest technology.
The package tickets sold by the China Tianyan Science Popularization Base include the FAST Observation Deck, the Astronomical Experience Hall and the Astronomical Cinema. We bought the full ticket and toured in the order of "uphill-downhill". We did not give up this opportunity and fully experienced all the programs. .
At the FAST Observation Deck: Enjoy the Single Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope. After depositing your electronic equipment, take a shuttle bus to the core radio station, and then walk more than 700 steps to reach the top of the mountain. During the steps, there are 12 constellations such as Pisces and Aries on display. From the FAST Observation Deck on the top of the mountain, you can have a panoramic view of the China Sky Eye, and appreciate the "cauldron" that is nearly 30 football fields in size, which is extremely shocking. The FAST viewing platform has three floors. On the viewing platform on the third floor, you can see the "cauldron" from different angles. In this situation, I couldn't help but express a sigh of emotion: "My country is amazing!"

D7 (22nd), Qingyan Ancient Town - Huangguoshu Waterfall - Dishuitan Waterfall - Guiyang (120+20+170=310)
Qingyan Ancient Town is located in Huaxi District, the southern suburb of Guiyang City. It was built in the Ming Dynasty. It was originally a military fortress. A large number of ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties have been well preserved in the town. There are four city gates in the west, south and north, and the exquisite stone and wood carvings of the buildings in the town are a major attraction
In the early morning, before the gates of the city were opened, we entered the small town by the small road. Walking along the ancient post road paved with stone slabs, the bluestone slabs on the road surface have been scoured and sharpened for hundreds of years, and they are already shining like a mirror. It feels deep and quiet. There are almost all shops selling local specialties on both sides of the street, and most of the shops are still closed. The streets and alleys of Qingyan Ancient Town are deep and winding, but there are guide signs on the main street and every important intersection, and most of the alleys can be taken back to the main street, so there is no need to worry about getting lost when walking through the ancient town. We walked along the city wall to the top of the mountain, looking from a height, the layout of the whole town gives people a three-dimensional beauty that is difficult to see.
As the largest waterfall in China and the third largest waterfall in the world, Huangguoshu Waterfall can be said to be one of the representative works of natural attractions in China. Huangguoshu Waterfall Scenic Spot is the core scenic spot in the entire Huangguoshu Waterfall. Therefore, we should mainly visit here. I know the waterfall, it is really shocking to see it! The small traffic in the scenic area is good and relatively orderly. The beautiful scenery continues along the way, and the mountain road is not difficult to walk. There is an escalator at the bottom station that you can take at your own expense, and you can see the waterfall after a ten-minute walk from the exit. The water flow is very fast and very spectacular! After driving for more than 20 kilometers, we arrived at an undeveloped waterfall—Dishuitan Waterfall. Dishuitan Waterfall is located 6 kilometers west of Huangguoshu Waterfall in Guanling County. It is said that the total height of the waterfall is 410 meters, six times that of Huangguoshu Waterfall, and the lowest level is 130 meters. It is a pity that when we went, there was not much water. Although the shape was peculiar, it was not spectacular enough.

D8 (23rd), Guiyang - Bing'an Ancient Town (350 kilometers)
Every city has some iconic sights. The symbol of Guiyang is Jiaxiu Tower. Jiaxiu Tower was built in the 26th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1598), and has a history of more than 400 years. There have been 6 large-scale repairs in history, and the existing building was rebuilt in 1909. It is also one of the most historical monuments in Guiyang. In the morning, we came here again and traveled along the Nanming River from Jiaxiu Tower. The bustling city center is on both sides, and the scenery is good.
The next goal of the day - Bing'an Ancient Town. Because there is a section of high-speed highway that cannot be walked due to road construction, the original itinerary has increased in length and difficulty. When we arrived at the destination, the sun was about to set. However, the advantage of not taking the high speed is that you can see the scenery along the way more clearly.
Bing'an Ancient Town is located in Bing'an Township, Chishui City. It sits on the dangerous rock beside the Chishui River. It is known as the ancient town on the Dashi. "Old Castle". Along the Chishui River, enter the ancient town through the small path "Snow Corridor" on the cliff. The town is small and there are not many tourists. The well-preserved Ming and Qing buildings are antique and still retain the traces of the original ecological history.

D9 (24th), Bing'an Ancient Town - Maotai Town - Zunyi - Sinan (162+95+180=437)
The next day, we entered the town again. In the early morning, the ancient town was quiet and harmonious, with a faint smoke from cooking. From Taipingmen to Donghuamen, there are different small shops, and several breakfast shops have started business. We stopped in front of a shop with "Huangba, Zhuerba" written on it. , Ordered "yellow cake + pig cake + millet porridge" to taste. There is an ancient road going down outside Donghuamen, which is the salt road in ancient times, and it is also the only way to enter the ancient town. Because I am practicing Taoism, I didn't go for a walk, which is a pity.
Maotai Ancient Town is the second stop today.
Maotai Town is located on the banks of the Chishui River in Renhuai City. It is an important throat of water and land transportation in Sichuan and Guizhou, and it is also the birthplace of the national wine Moutai. In Moutai Town, you can learn about the culture of Moutai and the history of the Red Army, which can not only increase your knowledge, but also enhance your patriotism.
The roads in Maotai Town are really difficult to drive. The roads in the town go uphill and downhill with turns, and there are so many cars that you have to wait in line for a long time to park a car. I don't know what to do during the holidays. I didn't expect Maotai Town to be really big! Walking into the town feels like jumping into a wine steamer. The air is filled with a faint fragrance of wine. Both sides of the narrow street are full of wine shops, one after another, which makes people dizzy. Friends who don't know how to drink will feel drunk here. We wandered around the town, went to 1915 Square, Maotai Ferry, Yangliuwan Street, took a photo at the archway, had lunch in the town, and then left. The former site of the Zunyi Conference is also a must-see point for us this time. Our childhood education taught us that the Zunyi Conference, at the critical juncture of the Chinese revolution, saved the party, the Red Army, and the Chinese revolution, which is a life-and-death turning point in the history of our party. Therefore, I thought that I must visit this sacred place if I had the opportunity, and this time my wish finally came true. There are still a lot of visitors, and they queue up to enter in batches. Touring the site of the Zunyi Conference, you can relive the difficult history, watch many historical photos and written materials, as well as various items used by revolutionary martyrs. This is a place to increase historical knowledge and remember the revolutionary martyrs.
It was still early, so we decided to continue to Tongren, stay in Sinan County in the evening, and taste the delicious "Boneless Chicken". The night view of Sinan is quite beautiful.

Our last stop in Guizhou is Fanjing Mountain, about 100 kilometers away from Sinan.
Fanjing Mountain is located in the Tongren area in the northeast of Guizhou Province, with an altitude of 2572 meters. Take a sightseeing car from the entrance of the scenic spot to the cableway, and then walk up the wooden plank road for about 1000 meters to see the famous "Mushroom Stone" and "Thousand Volumes of Sutras" scenic spots. Because the vertical distance between the cableway station and Mushroom Stone is relatively close, the wooden plank road is relatively steep and requires relatively high physical strength. Mushroom Stone is just like its name, big up and down small, shaped like a mushroom, about 10 meters high, standing on the mountain for 1 billion years. On the left of the top of the mountain is the Red Gold Cloud Top, and on the right is the Old Gold Top, which is very spectacular. Hongyun Jinding is the core of Foshan.
Fanjing Mountain, what a fascinating fairyland and "city in the sky". I thought I would put it here on the last day, and approached it slowly to discover its magic! Unexpectedly, on the first day, the sky was not beautiful and it was always cloudy. When we arrived in the mountain, it was still windy and light raining; secondly, it might be because of the weekend. Team, on the way to Yunding on the mountain, everyone wants to connect, it is difficult to go up the mountain, and the time to go up is very tight. Thirdly, for some unknown reason, after walking up a few steps, I felt a slight chill, very uncomfortable, and out of breath. So I couldn't get to Yunding that day as I wished, and I left a little regret.

Fenghuang Ancient City is located in the southwest of Xiangxi, Hunan Province. It is a gathering place of ethnic minorities mainly Miao and Tujia. The ancient city is surrounded by mountains and rivers, and the Tuojiang River passes through the city. In November 2017, after participating in the gateball base camp in Loudi, I met my friends and stayed there for one night. I was very impressed. This is the second time I have been to Fenghuang. There are far fewer people in the streets than before, but the water in the Tuojiang River is much larger than last time. We walked along the bluestone streets in the city, had lunch at a small restaurant by the river, Taking pictures on Zhongshidun Bridge. Then I left this beautiful ancient town with unique Xiangxi charm.
We came to Shaoshan, which is not far from Fenghuang, and it was already after 5 pm. The car can drive directly into the scenic spot. In order to facilitate the visit to the former residence of Chairman Mao, we chose to live in the "Shaohe Bianjian Boutique Hotel" not far away (the hotel gives People's impression is not very good), and also tasted "Mao's Braised Pork". After dinner, I went into the scenic spot to see the night view. I didn’t expect that there were armed police soldiers guarding the former residence at night. It was really hard work! There are some people dancing in the square, which adds a bit of joy to this peaceful night.
D12 (27th), Shaoshan-Quzhou-Suichang (720+100=820)
In the morning, more people came to visit, and there was a long queue. After visiting the former residence, we set off again and drove back.
It was very late when we arrived at Suichang via Quzhou. After staying for a short rest, we tasted the specialties of Suichang: butchered vegetables and fried yellow fruits.

This self-driving tour in Guizhou lasted 13 days, from south to north, from east to west, visited the four ancient towns, major cities, and famous Foshan in Guizhou, without turning back, the journey was about 5,900 kilometers, and we arrived at the place we wanted to go.
