Speaking of the experience of paying homage to Fanjing Mountain, a famous Buddhist mountain located in Tongren, Guizhou, the reporter can be described as full of twists and turns. I remember that the first time I came here was in November 2017 when the reporter participated in the "2017 Fanjing Mountain International Road Cycling Open". After the competition ended on the afternoon of November 20, Wu Ling, the race press officer, led the reporters to drive to Mount Fanjing. Unexpectedly, when we arrived at the scenic spot, there was a sudden heavy rain, so we had no choice but to return angrily.

Two years later, on June 7, 2019, the reporter finally came to Tongren, Guizhou for the second time following the "Green China Walking into the Beautiful Tongren World Natural Heritage Site Fanjing Mountain" to collect news. This trip finally had the opportunity to visit Fanjing Mountain again Pay homage. Tongren City is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guizhou Province, known as "Famous City in Western China". Located in the northeast of Guizhou Province, in the hinterland of Wuling Mountains, bordering Huaihua City, Hunan Province to the east, and Chongqing City to the north, it is the link connecting the south-central region and the southwestern border, and enjoys the reputation of "Gateway of Eastern Guizhou".

Mount Fanjing, located in the Tongren area in the northeast of Guizhou Province, was originally named "Three Valleys" and got its name from "Pure Land of Brahma". Mount Fanjing was awarded as one of the "Top Ten Famous Summer Resort Mountains in China" in 2008 and 2009, and is the fifth most famous Buddhist mountain in China along with Mount Wutai in Shanxi, Mount Putuo in Zhejiang, Mount Emei in Sichuan, and Mount Jiuhua in Anhui.

Fanjing Mountain is the main peak of the Wuling Mountains and the symbol of the Wuling Mountains. The main peak, Hongyun Jinding, is 2,336 meters above sea level, and the highest peak, Phoenix Mountain, is 2,572 meters above sea level. The gate of Fanjing Mountain is 80 kilometers away from Tongren City and 460 kilometers away from Guiyang City, the capital of Guizhou Province. On July 2, 2018, Tongren Fanjing Mountain was successfully included in the World Natural Heritage List.

On the afternoon of the same day, before the event officially started, the reporter and his party, accompanied by Zhang Yuhong from "Tongren Daily", went to Fanjing Mountain to pay their respects. Starting from Huaguoshan Rongxin International Hotel where we stayed in Tongren, we drove to Fanjing Mountain in Jiangkou, and arrived at the scenic spot after about an hour's drive. There was still some drizzle when we arrived at the scenic spot, but as long as we can climb the mountain smoothly, even if it is a little rainy, it still feels pretty good.

When you arrive at the Fanjing Mountain Gate by car, you first need to change to a scenic sightseeing car, and then go to the cable car station after a 20-minute drive. It took about 20 minutes to get to the top of the mountain after getting on the cable car. When the cable car is running, look out through the window and the weather is sometimes cloudy and sunny. Sometimes the thick fog covers the mountains and rivers and you can’t see anything. Once the clouds clear and the fog clears, there will be dreamy white clouds. Wonderland scene.

After arriving at the cable car station, although the sky has not completely cleared, the light rain has stopped. Everyone needs to climb the last 1,200 stone steps from the top of the mountain along the climbing path to finally reach the famous mushroom rock landscape of Fanjing Mountain. The weather on Mount Fanjing is really unpredictable. It was still foggy when climbing the mountain, but when we reached the top of the mountain, the clouds suddenly cleared and the fog cleared, and the sun showed a smiling face.

Shi Junrui, the tour guide who led the reporter and his group to collect stories, said: Fanjing Mountain’s original ecology is well preserved, and it was listed as a first-class world ecological protection area by the United Nations in 1982. Mount Fanjing is rich in wildlife resources, such as Guizhou golden monkey, Davidia involucrata and other rare species. The scenery is beautiful and natural, and there is no trace of artificial scenery when entering the mountainous area. The "Mushroom Rock" on its main peak is a famous landscape and a rare place for tourism.

Mt. Fanjing Mushroom Stone is one of Guizhou's landmark scenic spots. It is made of stratified rocks left after weathering and erosion. Granite, especially black granite, has been weathered for a long time, causing the crust and surface rocks to gradually crack and break. , decompose, and at the same time form new mineral rocks in a new environment. Weathering is the main force to destroy and transform mountain rocks. It is an important force to make mountain rocks constantly change. Things that fly from the sky also seem to grow out of the ground, standing proudly.

The reporter and his party went up the mountain to Mushroom Stone. There is a stone pillar standing on the mountain. It is marked on it that the altitude of Mushroom Stone is 2318 meters. Along the mountain road around the Mushroom Stone, you can look around and enjoy the magnificent mountain scenery of Fanjing Mountain. I saw that the mountains here are majestic, with overlapping peaks; steep slopes and deep valleys, towering peaks; According to textual research in classics, Fanjing Mountain was called "Three Valleys", "Chenshan Mountain" and "Siqiong Mountain" before the Tang Dynasty, and "Fanjing Mountain" after the Ming Dynasty. "Fanjing Mountain" means "Buddhist Pure Realm".

It is said that the fame and development of Mount Fanjing all originated from Buddhism. The huge temple complexes of the Four Great Temples and the Forty-eight Foot Temples spread all over the Fanjing Mountain area, establishing the Buddhist status of Mount Fanjing as the famous "Ancient Buddha Dojo" and one of the five largest temples in China. The only Maitreya Bodhisattva dojo in the famous Buddhist mountains, Buddhist culture has covered the vast Fanjing Mountain with a solemn and magical color.

Opposite the Mushroom Stone Scenic Area is the towering Red Cloud Golden Summit. Walking down the plank road on the mountain, you can come to the foot of Yunding. The steep climbing plank road feels like going straight up and down. Although it is so steep, tourists still line up to climb Yunding. For the reporter, although he was the first among his peers to climb the Mushroom Cloud Scenic Spot on the top of the mountain, he could only sigh when he looked at the tall golden summit at this time, and he no longer had the strength to climb up.

Hongyun Jinding Shifeng is 94 meters high, straight and steep, rising like a huge pillar of the sky. It faces Yuejing Mountain from north to south, forming a confrontation between two peaks, and the scenery is extremely spectacular. Jinding Shifeng faces a deep ravine, and looking from a hundred miles away, it looks like jade shoots sticking into the sky. Its top is often shrouded in clouds and mist, and under the shining of the sun, the clouds are brilliant and gorgeous, so people call it "Hongyun Jinding" or "Hongyun Jinding".

There is a huge crack on the stone peak of Hongyun Jinding, which splits Jinding from the top down into two halves. The upper half is divided into two, and the two ends are connected by a bridge. The distance between them is only three or four meters. People call this crack Jindao Gorge. Legend has it that the Golden Dome was originally a complete stone pillar, and Sakyamuni Buddha and Maitreya Buddha both used it as a place of practice. The two Buddhas couldn't argue, so they went to the Heavenly Palace to sue. The Jade Emperor split the golden dome in half with a golden knife. Sakyamuni got the left rock, and Maitreya took the right, so the dispute was settled.

Hongyun Jinding is 2336 meters above sea level, and the peaks rise from the ground, with a vertical height difference of 100 meters. The upper part is divided into two parts, which are connected by a sky bridge. A temple is built on each side, and one side is dedicated to Sakyamuni Buddha and the other side is dedicated to Maitreya Buddha. This confirms the alternation of the modern Buddha (Sakyamuni) to the future Buddha (Maitreya). It is said that there are often red clouds and auspicious air surrounding it in the morning, so it is called Hongyun Jinding.

On the way down the mountain, I saw a temple with golden tiles and red walls between the old and new golden roofs. It is Cheng'en Temple. The temple was first built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, and was later destroyed by war, leaving only ruins. In 1988, it was rebuilt by monk Shi Tongling, and according to the restoration of the ancient site, it was merged with the original Zhenguo Temple (now Tianwang Temple) to form the current Cheng'en Temple.

Coming down from the mountain and passing the Tianwang Hall of Cheng'en Temple is the plank road going down the mountain. At this time, the sun that had just cleared suddenly faded from the sky, and the ground gradually became cloudy again. When we arrived at the cable car station, it started to rain again. The reporter felt that Perhaps it was the sincere sincerity of visiting Fanjing Mountain on this trip that got me this great luck...Because after careful calculation, the trip to Fanjing Mountain, which took less than an hour from the summit to the descent, made the reporter feel ashamed I caught up with it... I hope that if I am lucky enough to come here to pay my respects in the future, I will definitely come again with a pious heart. (Photo: Feng Ganyong)
