3 years ago, also in a summer, I met such a magnificent waterfall for the first time. In a flash, three years have passed, and the Huangguoshu Waterfall is safe and sound.
Some time ago, I was obsessed with Xu Xiake’s writing, and I read some of his whereabouts intermittently. Speaking of which, he is probably the first “professional traveler” in our country.
Xu Xiake once described Huangguoshu Waterfall in his travels: "There are those that are several times as high, but there has never been one that is so wide and large." Because of his words, later generations gradually recognized this place as the first waterfall in the country.
In my impression, when I was in elementary school, I once learned an article about Huangguoshu Waterfall. Now I can’t remember the content of the article clearly. It’s just that when those words became the real road under your feet and the beautiful scenery in front of you, you You will feel that it is really "reading thousands of books is not as good as traveling thousands of miles". When one day, I can really say "I have read a lot of books, walked a lot of roads, drank a lot of wine, and met a lot of people in my life" without any guilt, then I really didn't come here in vain. 【Huangguoshu Waterfall】
Huangguoshu National Park is a very big concept, covering 120 square kilometers in 12 scenic spots (points) including Huangguoshu, Dragon Palace, Tianlong Tunpu, Guanling Fossil Park, and Baling River Bridge. The Huangguoshu Scenic Spot I came to this time is mainly based on Huangguoshu Waterfall, Tianxing Bridge, and Doupo Pond.
It is widely known because of Xu Xiake's whereabouts, so a Xiake Pavilion was specially built in the scenic spot to commemorate him.
At present, the scenic area implements time-sharing reservations, which need to be reserved the day before. After the real-name authentication, you can enter the park with your ID card or face. In addition, the scenic spot's own fast and slow tour has launched a VIP channel, and the entrance of the Great Falls is different from that of ordinary tourists. It is through such an entrance that we can see the Xiake Pavilion and other scenery.
Follow this plank road all the way forward, avoiding the crowds of large troops, from top to bottom, you can walk to the Water Curtain Cave Scenic Spot of the Great Waterfall. This kind of tour is relatively labor-saving, saves the energy of climbing mountains, and can also enjoy our natural scenery exclusively.
As you walk, you can hear the sound of roaring water, probably because the waterfall is approaching.
Looking closer, the waterfall is opposite us, cascading down from the top of the mountain. The water flow is constantly rushing down, and each water column rushes down like this. These water columns rushing down, rising in waves of water mist on the mountain.
Under the cover of water mist, the landscape at the bottom of the mountain is not clear.
Walking into this pavilion, this is the best angle to take pictures of the opposite hill.
The ancient architectural style of the courtyard is particularly in harmony with such an empty natural landscape, which is probably the beauty of creation of the completion of ancient Chinese architecture.
The waterfall rushes down surrounded by green trees. These water jets run along the mountain wall, hitting the rocks at the root of the mountain continuously at the moment of falling. They are smashed into pieces at once, and then exploded into thousands of beads. Then And the rising water vapor diffused and disappeared.
Huangguoshu Waterfall, known as Baishuihe Waterfall in ancient times, got its name because of the widespread distribution of "Huang Gerong" in the area. It belongs to the water system of the Baishui River section of the lower reaches of the Kebu River, a tributary of the Dabang River, a tributary of the Beipan River, a tributary of the Nanpan River, the main stream of the Xijiang River in the Pearl River system. It is the largest first-class waterfall in the Huangguoshu Waterfall Group and one of the world-famous waterfalls.
The height of the waterfall can reach 77.8 meters, of which the height of the main waterfall is 67 meters, the width of the waterfall is 101 meters, and the width of the top of the main waterfall is 83.3 meters. Huangguoshu Waterfall is a typical waterfall in karst landform.
Because it is a VIP channel, the itinerary is also from top to bottom, along the wooden plank road all the way down, and finally reach the same destination as ordinary tourists, and meet in front of Shuilian Cave.
Most people near Shuilian Cave will choose to wear raincoats, because the water vapor here is really too big.
A narrow wooden plank road was opened in the middle of the mountain for people to pass through. Although I came from here, because of the hazy water vapor, I couldn't see the plank road clearly.
The closer to the waterfall, the louder the sound. Until such a scene appears in front of our eyes, there is no occlusion. The waterfall hits the stone wall here, arousing thousands of water splashes. These water splashes, under the sunlight, turn into crystal clear water drops, exuding a translucent and pure light.
When passing through the Water Curtain Cave quickly, if you don’t buy a raincoat, you will indeed get wet, but in summer, the sun will dry out soon after it comes out of the cave, so there is no need to worry. However, there is a lot of water in the cave, and the road is slippery, so you need to be careful when walking.
Not long after entering the cave, I encountered a looming rainbow. The color created by the water vapor is more beautiful than any other color palette.
It is said that when the 86 edition of Journey to the West was filming the Water Curtain Cave, the exterior scenes were actually taken here, but the scene of Monkey King flying in was taken in the Water Curtain Cave of Huaguo Mountain in Lianyungang.
As a person who grew up watching Journey to the West, it is natural to keep this picture, and compare it with the TV picture when I go back.
After walking out of the Water Curtain Cave, walk straight along the road and walk across the bridge. On the left is the road to take the escalator back to the exit, and on the right is to continue to watch the scenery.
The cause of Huangguoshu Waterfall can be traced back to the Middle Triassic period more than 200 million years ago, when a set of huge carbonate rocks was deposited in Huangguoshu area.
Huangguoshu Waterfall is located on the Baishui River section of the Tapang River Basin. The river flows from north to south. When it reaches Huangguoshu, a large longitudinal slope crack appears on the riverbed to form Huangguoshu Waterfall. At the foot of the mountain, you can see the waterfall and the area it flows through.
Although it is late September now, Huangguoshu Waterfall is still in the wet season, and the water flow is huge.
It was such a rush of water that attracted many people to watch. Just now, we just passed behind the waterfall, rounding it up, we also passed through the waterfall curtain, and entered the water curtain cave like Monkey King.
【Tianxing Bridge】
The Tianxing Bridge Scenic Area can be roughly divided into the first half and the second half. The first half is more man-made scenery, while the second half is more natural scenery, so the scenery in the second half is more magnificent. If you do not have enough time like me, it is also recommended to go directly to the second half of the tour.
There are also many places in the Tianxing Bridge Scenic Area that used to be the filming locations of the 86 edition of Journey to the West. At that time and under that condition, director Yang Jie led the filming team to shoot our childhood memories.
This location is also the picture of Gao Laozhuang in Journey to the West. This corridor used to be the place where Zhu Bajie carried his wife.
Now it is full of tourists, because of the Journey to the West, they come here especially.
This seemingly inconspicuous cave was once the filming location of Pansi Cave in Journey to the West.
Now this cave is not open to tourists, and the steps we can barely see were also specially built by the filming team for the viewfinder.
Go to the famous bridge on the bridge again.
This bridge is a miracle of nature. Although it is a pure natural stone bridge, it is strong enough for many pedestrians to pass on it.
This bridge is an obvious natural stone bridge when viewed from the bottom of the mountain. It is all composed of complete stones, and the combination of each piece is very perfect. When walking on the bridge, you will find that the huge stone inserted in the middle forms a hollow, so that people can pass through it, forming a bridge on the bridge.
And this third bridge is also related to the name Tianxing Bridge. This bridge is not really visible, mainly because there are many underground rivers in Guizhou, so in the scenic area, people walk on the ground as if they are passing by. bridge.
Therefore, the three bridges can be considered together.
In the Tianxing Bridge Scenic Area, there is a not-so-big karst cave called Tianxing Cave.
This karst cave is located in the middle of the Tianxing Bridge Scenic Area. Although it is not too big, the scenery inside the cave is still good and it is worth seeing.
To be honest, apart from being formed naturally, the scenery of the cave is more shaped by artificial light in the later stage.
I have walked through many caves, large and small, and most of them depend on the real scene and the imagination, and this place is no exception.
In the cave, there are colorful and varied peaks standing, among which 4 large stone pillars reach the top of the cave, which is very spectacular, so these are called Dinghai Shenzhen by us.
There are many wonders in the cave, such as the grape hall covered with calcium carbonate gel and shaped like bunches of grapes, as well as "Miao Village terraced fields", "ice mountain and snow field" and so on. These lights constitute another scenic spot for us. Different worlds, in this world, everything is fantasy and everything is unknown.
After leaving the Tianxing Cave, there is a Wang Bitan.
There is also an undercurrent at the bottom of the pool, and when there is a lot of water, the water column will gush out. The water is relatively calm today, with only slight ripples.
In Journey to the West, the scene of the little white dragon jumping from the bottom of the pool was filmed here.
Although it is already autumn, the trees in the scenic area are still green.
Under the sun, these green leaves are shining with crystal light, translucent and vibrant.
These water currents are constantly rushing downward, heading for the distance, impacting the stone wall and the river bed.
Many people love this quiet river and the clear water.
The next thing you arrive at is the famous Water Stone Forest Scenic Area.
When the waterfall pours down, it meets the stone forest area on the water, and the river diverges above the stone forest, thus circulating on both sides.
When they meet at the bottom, stone forests surround the water. The river is winding and the stone forests are dotted with stars, which is a beautiful picture.
Of course, the water stone forest scenic spot we see now is just a "prelude", and the truly spectacular place is yet to come.
If the landscape of Huangguoshu Waterfall is magnificent, Tianxing Bridge Scenic Area is relatively more gentle and graceful. The river comes with stone forests and trees, which are neither born nor destroyed.
The most quintessential view of the Water Stone Forest Scenic Area is probably the Silver Chain Falling Tan Waterfall. Flowing water gathered at one point from all directions, and then poured down together as if agreed at the same time, forming such a beautiful waterfall.
Its shape is like a bucket, its sound is like a song, and its shape is like a chain, hence the name.
The flowing water flows down from the top, like pearls falling down, shining brightly under the sunlight.
Seen from a distance, these converging waterfalls look like lotus leaves spread out, interlaced and chained.
Maybe it's because the gap is not too big, and the sound is not particularly loud, it just slowly seeps into the ears.
No wonder people always say that this is the most beautiful waterfall in Huangguoshu Waterfall.
Continue walking in the direction of the current. If we say that the running water that we see on weekdays is like a transparent ribbon, coming slowly. The river and water surface here are much wider, which naturally brings us a different feeling. The water flow is fast, and it continues to go to the distance.
The river course stretches along the green hills in this mountain forest, and flows past the doors of countless families.
These pouring waters have become the source of life for many people.
The entire scenic spot does not go back. We chose the cableway in the scenic spot on the return journey (of course, there is no problem if you choose to walk to the exit).
This cableway can be said to be one of the cheapest. The cableway is 10 yuan one way, but the distance is not long, just from one mountain to another.
The ropeway is semi-enclosed, so that you can better appreciate the scenery along the way.
【Steep Pond】
The Doupotang Scenic Spot can be said to be the smallest of the three scenic spots, and the scenery is mainly the Doupotang Waterfall. If you go shopping quickly, you can finish the trip in about half an hour.
In fact, everyone did feel a little tired after visiting the scenic spot for a day, but fortunately, the Doupotang scenic spot is not big, and with the soft light in the evening, we saw another kind of beauty of the waterfall.
Doupotang Waterfall is located 1 km upstream of Huangguoshu Waterfall. The top of the waterfall here is 105 meters wide and 21 meters high. It is the widest one among the Huangguoshu Waterfalls. Because there is a huge melting pool with an area of 15,000 square meters on the top of the waterfall, a calcified beach dam with a length of more than 100 meters is formed.
Everyone who comes to this scenic spot is rushing to this big waterfall, so the viewing platform of Doupotang Waterfall is really three floors inside and three floors outside.
The waterfall is torrenting, and the splashing water will still fly to the sky and sprinkle on us. The feeling of sunshine and drizzle is an indescribable heartbeat.
On the other side of the Doupotang Waterfall, there is a bridge on the winding river.
In the backlight, the mountains in the distance also became hazy. At this time, the scenic spot inexplicably gave me a feeling of tranquility.
That bridge is a necessary place to leave the scenic spot, but when I actually walked up it, I lost the artistic conception of taking pictures.
Of course, the biggest highlight of this entire scenic spot is that this waterfall was once the filming location for the ending song of Journey to the West in the 1986 edition, which is the scene where Tang Monk, his master and his disciples lead their horses through.
So much so that when we got here, we kept thinking about the tune "You carry the burden, I lead the horse" in our minds.
Although those days of filming are long gone, and everything today is not what it was more than 30 years ago, these scenes are still familiar, and these songs are still being sung.
【Accommodation in Scenic Area】
At present, there are 3 hotels in Huangguoshu Waterfall Scenic Area. Among them, there is a Huangguoshu Guest House outside the scenic area, which is the hotel I stayed in for the 2nd day. The hotel environment is good. There are many villas, including double bed room, twin bed room and other room types. It is quite convenient to enter the Huangguoshu Waterfall scenic spot through the VIP channel when staying here.
The other two are located in the scenic area, one is the very high-end and relatively expensive Bailian Hot Spring Hotel, and the other is the Huangguoshu Hotel, which focuses on waterfall viewing rooms.
Bolian Hotel is a relatively well-known high-end hotel brand in the world. It is opened in Huangguoshu Scenic Area. Naturally, it is also a high-quality hotel, providing guests with the best environment and the best relaxation.
Bolian Hotel focuses on Chinese style. The lobby of the hotel is very particular about the layout. The tables and chairs are all made of solid wood. In addition, the placement of items is also supported.
The current style of the hotel is a combination of traditional Chinese style and local Bouyei style. The roof of the hotel is also made of wood, all of which are imported from Myanmar, with excellent quality.
Next to the lobby is a restaurant, where guests can order meals and organize team activities. This area is relatively spacious, and you can see the mountains through the windows. Dining in such an environment will improve your appetite.
Because of the main Chinese style, the furnishings of the objects are more Zen-like. Every decoration and object are placed in a very stylish way, which is my favorite type.
The hotel room price is 3,900 yuan and above (800 yuan is required on holidays), and you can book an independent room or a whole villa. The villa is more suitable for a family or two friends to travel together, so it is more comfortable to have a public space.
Although the price is not low, but the overall environment of the hotel is also very good, staying here is really a kind of enjoyment.
This is the public area of the villa. If you only book one room, the door in the middle will be locked. In addition, every room here has a hot spring. If you don't want to go to the public hot spring pool, you can enjoy the hot spring in the room.
The hot spring soup pool that comes with the room is still relatively large, and a family of three can take a bath at the same time.
However, if you stay in the room here, you will be provided with 2 tickets for Huangguoshu and 2 hot spring tickets for unlimited times. The public hot spring pool here is still very large. It is still very refreshing to soak in the hot spring after visiting the scenic spot, so staying here is cost-effective Still very high.
The second hotel located in the scenic area is Huangguoshu Hotel.
The environment of Huangguoshu Hotel is also good, and the price is much cheaper than Bolian, so if you stay in the scenic spot, it will be more cost-effective to choose here.
The main feature of this hotel is the waterfall viewing room, that is, you can see the waterfall in the distance from the room.
However, in summer, the trees are lush, and the waterfall in the distance can only be faintly visible, with a hazy beauty of "still holding a pipa and half covering the face". Looking from the room, the environment is excellent, surrounded by green mountains and green waters, green bamboos, living is a kind of pleasing to the eye.
Because the scenic spot is very large, although it can be visited in one day, it will be relatively hard, so if you are bringing children or have more time, I recommend that you divide it into two days and live in the scenic spot, saving most of the traffic time , The comfort of playing will also be stronger.

2. At present, the scenic spot implements time-sharing reservations, and you need to book tickets with your ID card one day in advance (knock the key point, you can’t buy tickets directly at the scenic spot)
