I don’t know when the ancient town/temple tourism started. Being blown high by a gust of literature and art, Tibet/Dali began to become a place of pilgrimage for "find yourself". People who follow the strong wind probably feel that the places where the ancients have lived for hundreds or even thousands of years, after the wind and waves and the years of tempering, are very comforting to them.

But life is hard. There are so many people who want to release stress and change their lifestyles. It is reasonable for Tibet/Dali to be stepped on. Northerners love to go, ok understandable, southerners also have to squeeze their heads, I can't figure it out, obviously Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan have small towns with enough cultural heritage for you to choose from, there are countless places to live in simplicity, and the beautiful scenery is even more beautiful Stop talking, why?

Today, I would like to recommend to you Zhijin, a holy place for spiritual healing that is not well known.

There is a saying that "Baozhen's hometown, Dongtian weaves gold" What does it mean? Here are the answers for you:

Hometown of Baozhen

Some time ago, a hotly searched article on Weibo, "Ding Baozhen's tomb was discovered", was about Ding Lao.

Ding Baozhen, born in Niuchang Town, Pingyuan, Guizhou (now Zhijin County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province), was a famous official in the late Qing Dynasty. In the third year of Xianfeng (1853), 33-year-old Ding Baozhen won the Jinshi examination. Since then, he has successively served as Shujishi, editor, prefect of Yuezhou, prefect of Changsha, governor of Shandong, and governor of Sichuan.

During his career as an official, Ding Baozhen was courageous, honest and upright, and dedicated his life to serving the country and loving the people. During his tenure as governor of Shandong, he managed the floods of the Yellow River, established Shandong Machinery Manufacturing Bureau, the first government-run industrial enterprise in Shandong, established Shangzhi Academy and the first official bookstore in Shandong; during his ten years as governor of Sichuan, he reformed salt administration, rectified the administration of officials, repaired the Dujiangyan water conservancy project, He set up Western Affairs to resist foreign aggression, achieved outstanding political achievements, benefited his hometown, and won the hearts of the people.

You can see many portraits and statues of Ding Lao in Zhijin County, his hometown, and there is also a special memorial hall "Fengxi Academy"

Fengxi Academy was built in 1757 during the Qianlong period. It is Zhijin's first Han culture enlightenment base "Yi Xue", which was later renamed "Pingyang Academy" for reading and giving lectures. Ding Baozhen taught here for several years.

In order to commemorate Ding Baozhen, a famous minister in the late Qing Dynasty, the Zhijin people set up a memorial hall in Fengxi Academy, where you can see his honest and upright life story.

There are many similar culturally important places in Zhijin, and the Kui Pavilion, an ancient building standing next to the academy, is one of them. It is also known as the Cangsheng Pavilion, and it once enshrined the three statues of Cangjie Saint, Emperor Wenchang and Dokuixing.

After time changes, although Kui Pavilion and Fengxi Academy are no longer grand, they have become a beautiful landscape along the riverside in Zhijin County because of their exquisite architectural appearance.

Dongtian Weaving Gold

Does this need more explanation? The world-famous Zhijin Cave is also one of the prides of Zhijin. It is the largest karst cave in Asia and topped the list of "Top Ten Most Beautiful Caves" by China Geographic Magazine. Even today, no one can shake it. The complex structure of the upper and lower four floors, more than 50 types of rocks, and a volume large enough to hold 35 Tiananmen Squares will make you amazed and moved.

It has profound cultural heritage and unique world-class beautiful natural landscape. Looking at the scenery, taking a break, and listening to the stories that have been passed down to the present, "finding yourself" in Zhijin is not just as simple as washing the soul, from the eyes to the brain, it will restore a transparent world for you.
