Baiyu County is a county under the jurisdiction of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province. It is located in the southwest of Sichuan Province and is located in the transition zone from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. White jade is a transliteration of Tibetan language, white - auspicious Shengde, jade - region or place. According to legend, this place is the holy place where Tathagata Buddha and Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva taught the supreme secret mantra; the terrain around it forms auspicious patterns, and it is a place of auspiciousness and virtue, so it is named "White Jade" after "the place of auspiciousness and virtue".

It is said that when Princess Wencheng of the Tang Dynasty went to Tibet to marry King Songtsen Gampo, she passed by here. Seeing that the local climate is mild and the scenery is beautiful and fascinating, the princess decided to set up camp here and rest for a few days to recover from the fatigue of the long journey. There is still Zhapan Township, which is the place where the princess combs her hair.

Baiyu County is located between National Highways 317 and 318 in western Sichuan, with a population of 54,000, of which Tibetans account for more than 90%. The ancient white wolf country and the ruins of the Sama Dynasty, Gatuo Temple, the first temple in the history of Kham, the primitive patrilineal culture of rocks like living fossils, the mysterious and desolate tree burial ceremony, the river known as "King Gesar's armory" Pozang Knife... It is located in the transition zone from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. The magical natural landscape, the unique natural scenery of the plateau, the unique ethnic customs, the colorful religious culture, and the strong cultural accumulation are refreshing.
