Han Princess Memorial Hall

The protagonists of this memorial are two women. Princess Xijun and Princess Jieyou, who married Wusun in the Western Regions, left a long story in the history of Ili. To this day, the local people still respect them very much. The Han Family Princess Memorial Hall is where people use sculptures, wax figures, art works, maps, cultural relics, etc. to reproduce the historical process of the Western Regions being incorporated into the motherland's territory, and use historical facts to prove that Xinjiang has been an inalienable part of China's territory since ancient times.

Historically, Kunmo, the king of the Wusun Kingdom in the Western Regions, proposed to Zhang Qian, the special envoy of the Han Dynasty who came again around 118 BC. Xijun, the daughter of Jiangdu (now Yangzhou) Wang Liujian, and Chu (now Xuzhou) Wang Liuwu's granddaughter Jieyou, as a symbol of diplomatic and friendly envoys, married the king of Wusun Kingdom.

On the Silk Road, Princess Xijun was the first princess to marry far away from the Western Regions. She married two generations of Wusun King successively. As the first envoy of friendship between the Han Dynasty and Wusun, Princess Xijun actively contacted the upper nobles of Wusun, which established a solid military alliance between Wusun and the Han Dynasty, and initially realized the strategic goal of uniting Wusun and containing the Xiongnu. Princess Xijun lived in Wusun for only five years before passing away. After the death of Princess Xijun, in 102 BC, the Han Dynasty married Princess Jieyou, the granddaughter of Liu Wu, the third king of Chu, to Junxumi, king of Wusun.
