I will see you on the dam

In your eyes, what does summer look like?

For me, summer is the beautiful short skirt in the closet, the sweet watermelon in the refrigerator, the chirping of cicadas among the leaves and branches, and the raindrops dripping from the corners of the eaves.

In summer those sparkling pleasures also seem to last longest with the earliest sunrise and latest sunset.

But at the same time, in summer, there is also the scorching sun with nowhere to hide, and the sweat that can't be wiped away, which makes me feel that even after drinking the coldest soda and blowing the coolest air conditioner, something is still missing.

At this time, I just want to escape the scorching heat and go to a cool place to stay even for a few days.

I believe that for everyone who coordinates in Beijing like me, everyone's first choice must be grassland. Midsummer is the most beautiful season for grasslands, and Fengning Bashang Grassland, as the closest grassland to Beijing, has become a summer garden for Beijingers, and it is also a place I must visit every year recently.

This year, I still came here as promised, and drove with my friends to Qiansongba National Forest Park, the closest forest park to Beijing.

about here

The park is located in Datan Town, Fengning Manchu Autonomous County. The average temperature in summer is only 17.4 degrees. It is the best summer resort in northern Beijing.

There are mountain ranges, lush meadows and countless wild flowers, quiet forests and trekking paths, stunning clouds and beautiful sunsets, and Beijing North, which is known as "the most beautiful plateau self-driving route in China". The first day of the road.

The four-hour midsummer in the north of Beijing is a completely different Wizard of Oz.

tour recommendation

Beijing North First Day Road

The first day of Beijing North Route consists of multiple sections such as A/B/C/D/E/F, with a total length of more than 100 kilometers, of which A/B section is in the scenic area of Qiansongba National Forest Park.

Private cars can be driven in, and you can experience for yourself what it is like to gallop on a plateau above 1,800 meters above sea level.

Winding along the way, passing through valleys and forests, passing through meadows and lakes, is the most beautiful scenery on the grassland in summer.

A few straight road sections made me think that I had reached the horizon. However, at the end of the winding road, the sky in front of me switched to windmills and mountains. Standing on the highest viewing platform at an altitude of more than 2,000 meters, the clouds floating above the head seemed to be able to be touched by stretching out your hands.

Sea of Eighteen Flowers

It is composed of three natural landscapes: Jinlian Lake, Beauty Valley and Baihua Wetland. It is named for the three-dimensional flower sea like 18 ribbons. The scenic spot covers an area of 8.6 square kilometers, with more than 800 species of natural plants in 92 families, and a variety of natural landscapes such as grasslands, sparse forests, flower seas, wetlands, and lakes.

Board the air corridor and look around. The green ones are grassland shrubs, the colorful ones are wild flowers, and the faintly shining Jinlian Lake and wetlands under the sun.

The plank road leading to the Beauty Valley runs through the larch forests. It is in the evening, and the setting sun is slanting across the valley, rendering the world into gentle colors.

Looking at the ridge in the distance, the natural Sleeping Beauty is lying there quietly, and I have to sigh in my heart about the uncanny craftsmanship of nature.

Spruce Canyon

Thousands of towering original spruces grow in the valley, with an average age of 300 years, witnessing the alternation of seasons and the change of time in this area of water and soil.

The wooden plank road meanders through the woods, the tall and dense branches block the sun, and there is a gurgling stream at the foot.

This is a small, deep and quiet world, only the crisp chirping of birds and the tinkling stream, or the occasional rustling of leaves when a gust of wind blows past.

There is no hustle and bustle, no heat, no worries, and the small mushrooms we accidentally find in a corner can make us happy for a long time.

sea of clouds

It was the day of Beijing's rainstorm warning when we set off on the dam. Although the torrential rain did not catch up here, it was still covered with dark clouds, and thick waves of smoke rose from the mountains. It is this kind of weather that makes the world hazy and makes us feel like a fairyland on the top of the mountain.

You thought we were in the fog?

No, we are in the cloud.

The next day, the rain cleared and the sky was clear.

We walked and stopped in the park all day, and before we knew it, it was almost evening. Driving to the top of the mountain, I found a flat land with no one there, and quietly watched the sunset here, dyeing the clouds into a red glow.

The hotel is located in Tianlu Station, which is only a few minutes' drive from Qiansongba National Forest Park. The rooms are clean and comfortable.

The hotel's own restaurant has delicious meals for three meals a day. The portions are large and the taste is very authentic. We recommend roast leg of lamb, oat noodles, cumin lamb, and fried wild bracken.
