From Hami, Xinjiang to Turpan, taking the Beijing-Xinjiang Expressway will pass through a county called "Shanshan", which is located on the east side of the Turpan Basin at the southern foot of the Tianshan Mountains. I planned to go directly to Turpan, but because of the late sunset here and the call of the Kumtag Desert, I got off the expressway and planned to play with sand under the scorching sun!

On the road of travel, "turning points" always appear inadvertently! My destination was the desert, but I didn't expect to meet my favorite village on the road. It is full of Xinjiang's unique customs, and there are naan stalls on the roadside!

After getting off the expressway and passing Shanshan County, I drove into a green world, which was completely different from what I saw before. After driving alone in the vast desert for half a day (shared in the previous article), Although the characteristic landforms are shocking enough, the long-term driving and the single color in the field of vision inevitably made me a little visually tired, but after coming here, the fatigue completely dissipated, and I saw the vineyards on the side of the road, so happy!

Next to the vineyard is a very comfortable village, not far from Shanshan City, but it has a completely different atmosphere from the city, very simple. Under the blue sky, the houses are neatly lined up along the path, and some houses are pasted with beautiful tiles, making them look more refined.

Some people's houses are still very simple earth walls, which look more charming. There are not many houses in the village, but because of the hot weather, there are not many people passing by on the road. But if you look into the grape orchards, you can see that people are still working. After all, the sun at 8 o'clock in the evening is still very dazzling!

Because I like the style here, I stayed here for a while and found that there is a very high frequency of transportation here, and that is the tricycle! Tricycles are very important partners of grape growers, almost every household has them. From daily travel, to the orchard to do farm work, the tricycle with the consignment function is more popular.

I met a lot of women riding tricycles on the road. They were not in a hurry to go, they just walked slowly on the small road. Maybe they just finished their work, or maybe they just came back from a visit. Their eyes were very clear. Tourists will also look at it a few more times, but they won't bother too much.

Passing through the road in the village and coming out of the corner of the village entrance, there is a straight avenue. The neat road construction contrasts strongly with the countryside on the side, but it is this contrast that makes this village that retains traditional living habits look even more beautiful. It is rare, I am willing to meet such a village atmosphere.

Going forward along the avenue, you can see the tall desert, which is the closest desert to the city in the world - the Shanshan Kumtag Desert. I thought it was very close, but I didn't think it was in the city. One side is the place where people live, full of greenery, and there are stretches of vineyards next to the village, and the other side is the only desert in the world that is connected to the city. Such a strong contrast makes me amazed at the moment!

When you see this big tree with unique shape, the desert is close at hand, or one foot has stepped into the desert, but it is not the appearance of no people in the hundreds of miles in front of you, people are still walking and chatting Woolen cloth! This has subverted my perception of the desert, it's time to go in and find out! What is the magic of this "desert in the city"? Looking forward to the next share!
