Yalun's trip came to the long-awaited Xinjiang, and the first stop was Hami, which is known as "the throat of the Western Regions, the arch guard of China" and the "Gateway of Xinjiang"! When it comes to Hami, the first reaction of most people is: Hami melon? That's right, here, the melon is named after the land, and the land is famous for the melon. However, let’s not talk about melons today (the next article will share Hami’s specialties!), let’s talk about a place worth visiting in Hami—the folk museum in the museum!

Friends who follow me know that when Yalun travels around China, he often visits museums in various places, because in this way, he can have a more systematic and comprehensive understanding of the local history and culture in a short period of time. Most museums in cities display their content in one building, but Hami is different. The museum is divided into a history museum and a folk museum, and I am particularly fond of the latter.

The Folklore Museum is the non-material cultural heritage center of Hami and an important exhibition area of Muqam art in Hami. The design of this circular building has a unique implication, conveying the traditional Chinese idea of "the sky is round and the earth is round". The upper circle and the lower part are covered with a huge tambourine. If you look carefully, you can find that the periphery combines the local The traditional cloister building has six green pillars on the front, "six" is an auspicious number, and green represents peace, hope and stability, implying a harmonious and happy life today.

When I saw it for the first time, I felt that the building itself was a fine work of art, whether it was the colonnades, algae wells, parapets, leaky windows around the corridor and on the main body of the building, or the circular floors inside, their style They all adopt the traditional architectural style of Hami, which is really to my liking. Coincidentally, I originally came for the museum, which is the historical and cultural relics exhibition area in my impression, but after entering, I stumbled into it and went straight to the Folklore Museum. To be honest, I thought this was the cultural relics exhibition area. The second is that I was completely fascinated by this very distinctive building with a strong Xinjiang style.

On the first floor of the Folklore Museum, there are many elements about Hami Muqam art, from photos of folk artists to cultural and creative products combining tradition and modernity, from the production of national costumes to the playback of music and the display of books. It is very contagious. Even if you have never known it before, you can still have an impressive personal experience of Muqam when you come here.

My favorite is the 4th floor. When I saw the homestay style exhibition area at the corner, I, who like the culture of ethnic minorities, was very happy in my heart! This shows the real life scenes of the local ethnic minorities. Look, the girl in ethnic costumes and braids is busy, surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. I can't help but want to be in the same frame with her!

In Xinjiang, naan is a common staple food, and it is easy to buy in the street market, but how do they make it in traditional families in Hami? If you don't have the opportunity to go to the local people's home, then you can find the answer here! In front of the clear window, women are kneading dough, and the finished naan is neatly arranged next to the cabinet, so warm! It made me really want to go up and sit with them.

In Xinjiang, people who are good at singing and dancing always live their lives full of joy. I play the piano, you dance, and sit on a beautiful blanket to eat melons and fruits. What an enviable scene! Art comes from life and is higher than life. After artistic processing, even still pictures become vivid. The hairs of the characters in the statue are all distinct, and they are so real that I doubt: Could it be that I am a fake?

During travel, you can hear different languages in different regions, see different scenery, meet different people, taste different food, and discover and understand the diversity of things in the process. Feeling the local customs and customs with a positive attitude is something that makes me feel deeply happy.

The total area of the Folklore Museum is nearly 5,000 square meters, with 4 floors. It not only displays the costumes, musical instruments, accessories and daily necessities of various ethnic groups, but also has a rich Xinjiang style of pancakes, rakes and spinning wheels. It is a colorful and interesting place. It is a place to understand the history, culture and art of Hami. As a traveler, once I'm in I don't even want to come out! Then why come out again? Isn't it because it's meal time, and the food is calling! How about Hami's gourmet specialties? Looking forward to the next share!
