foreword

"Karajun" is translated into "black fertile and vast wilderness" in Kazakh. In 2016, it was rated as an AAAAA-level tourist attraction by the National Tourism Administration. As an important part of the Tianshan World Natural Heritage in Xinjiang, it has the richest biodiversity and aesthetic value. Highest.

As the most beautiful three-dimensional grassland comparable to the scenery of Switzerland - Kala Jun, this year, without exception, it became lively during the blooming season from May to June.

I hope that more people can see the most primitive vastness and magnificence of Kala Jun, so I wrote this detailed guide, hoping to help you!

Picture trailer

Five-flowered meadow - every May, rose-purple primroses bloom everywhere on the grassland. Followed by various wildflowers such as nasturtium, anemone, thyme, bluegrass and so on. These wildflowers can last for a month or two, turning the grassland into a colorful "hanging garden".

Qiaxi Grassland - a yurt under the Tianshan Mountains

The Kalajun Prairie is located in the middle of the Tianshan Mountains, integrating forests, grasslands, snow-capped mountains, glaciers, canyons, rivers, lakes and other natural landscapes. Colorful flower clusters, white yurts dotted among them, clouds and sheep scattered on the green carpet, dark green virgin forest, deep canyon, together with the blue sky, white clouds and snowy mountains and ice peaks in the sky, constitute a beautiful scene. Picture scroll!

Kalajun is primitive and quiet, inaccessible, with dense forests, gurgling streams in the mountain canyons, many small-leaf trees and shrubs, Yunshan forest in the mountains, and the Azusa large meadow at the top of the mountain, which is like a green carpet. At the foot of Azusai Snow Peak, this is a good place for hiking, galloping horses, and outdoor camping. Friends who love adventures must not miss it.

1. Walking in Kala Jun
1. Overview of the itinerary

Three mountains and two basins are a typical landform feature in Xinjiang. The Yili area is located in the canyon of the Tianshan Mountains, and it is southeastward. Because it is surrounded by mountains on three sides, a river named Yili flows through it, so this land gets its name. Surrounded by mountains on three sides in the north, southeast and north, the west opens to meet the humid airflow from the west, becoming a wet island in the arid zone of the Eurasian continent.

There is such an outdoor hiking route in the Yili River Valley, which is known as "the most beautiful hiking route in Tianshan Mountains". Depart from Qiongkushitai, wind along the pastoral road, pass through the Kalajun grassland, Tarim grassland, Qiaxi grassland and then to the Mohuer grassland, and finally go to Kurdening to end the whole hike.

The entire hiking distance is about 120 kilometers, and it takes 9 days to go to and from Urumqi (7 days for the start and end of Yining). Along the way, you can stay in herdsmen's yurts, or camp by yourself.

2. Best time

Yili belongs to the temperate continental climate, with climate characteristics such as cold winter and hot summer, short spring and autumn, large annual and daily temperature ranges, and concentrated precipitation seasons. The four seasons have different scenery, but the best flowering season is from May to June every year, and the climate and temperature are more suitable for outdoor activities. Although the weather in the mountainous area is cloudy and cloudy, the rain comes quickly, and the clear sky is also fast, and there is a high probability that you can see a rainbow after the rain! For the midsummer season in July and August, the scenery at this time may be slightly inferior to that in May and June, but the snow on the top of Tianshan Mountain does not melt all year round, and you can still feel the majesty of the snow-capped mountains and the magnificent landscape of the three-dimensional grassland.

3. Itinerary data measurement (difficulty)

Tell me about the difficulty that everyone is most concerned about.

The picture above shows the actual measurement data of the Doufeng Outdoor Team Leader. Don't be intimidated by this data, there are 3 days of more than 20 kilometers per day, and the exercise data on the mobile phone shows only more than 40,000 steps. Except for the nearly 1,000-meter altitude drop on the third day, everything else is a gentle slope up and down. Pay attention to wearing knee pads to protect the knees, and then use trekking poles, which can greatly reduce the fatigue of the legs. Divide the journey into several sections every day, set a small goal for yourself, turn over this slope, and the infinite scenery is at the top.

Friends in the same industry said that the desperate slope of Wugong Mountain is even more difficult than this! (According to the gossip, in August 2018, railings have begun to be erected on the Desperate Slope, and the outdoor resort of Wugong Mountain will soon be turned into an ordinary tourist route [sad face...)

Hike lightly, hire horses to carry equipment, and carry the materials needed for the day (water, road meals, rain capes, jackets, etc.) with you every day. Set off on time, basically you can arrive at the camp at six or seven in the afternoon every day, and you can set up camp and cook at four or five in the afternoon when the distance is short (it is not time to get off work in Xinjiang at this time). Besides, the scenery along the way is accompanied by beautiful scenery. Anyway, I only focus on the shooting activities of my hands throughout the whole process, stopping many times to find angles, just in time for a short rest.

★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★

Start to focus! ! ! The road is not difficult to walk, but there are many local herdsmen's horse trails, and some sections of the road will have branch roads. It is necessary to make a good track in advance and go together. It is best to hire a local guide or report to the group to avoid getting lost.

★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★

5. Precautions

① Outdoor travel is different from traditional travel routes. Outdoor travel is mainly about sports experience. It has certain requirements for personal equipment and is adventurous. Teamwork is very important;

② This route involves high-altitude hiking and camping. If you feel unwell during the trip, you must take timely measures to avoid accidents;

③ There is a two-hour time difference between Xinjiang and the mainland. Generally, you go to work at 09:30-10:00 in the morning and leave work at 15:30-19:30 in the afternoon. You should be prepared to adapt to the time difference;

④ The diet in Xinjiang is quite different from that in the mainland. Xinjiang basically uses mutton and beef as the main food. In Xinjiang, "pork" is a taboo word, which is generally replaced by "big meat";

⑤ Hiking photography on this route is an exploration theme, and the conditions in mountainous areas cannot be compared with those in cities. Accommodation is generally in the characteristic wooden houses or yurts (Datongpu) of local residents, and camping will be camped in places with particularly good scenery and nearby water sources;

⑥ The weather in the mountains is cloudy and cloudy. Jackets are windproof, and ponchos and rainproof tools need to be carried with you. When you reach the top of the mountain, remember to add clothes in time to prevent cold sweat from catching a cold;

⑦ Prepare garbage bags with you, only footprints should be left behind, and only memories should be taken away.

6. Route planning

There are two ways of crossing the Kalajun hiking route: forward crossing and reverse crossing. Forward crossing means that Qiongkushitai is used as the starting point of the hike, and all the way to the east of Kurdening to end the whole hiking activity; reverse crossing means reverse walking, reverse crossing The climb is larger.

Usually gather in Urumqi or Yining, charter a car to Tekes County (this is the last supply place before entering the mountain), and then go to the village where the hike starts. In the later period, if you have other plans, you can choose to end in Yining instead of returning to Urumqi and continue the next itinerary.

7. The itinerary of our club

Here is a description of Zhengchuan 9-day Kalajun Grand Ring Road. If you want to feel the whole picture and have enough time for vacation, I suggest you choose the 9-day Grand Ring Road.

jQuery17100503833545028447_1561443234296 Firstly, there are more scenery to see! At the end of the Tarim, there are always some unfinished meanings;

jQuery17105973720509058258_1561445601594 Secondly, after turning over the red house, the scenery of the last few kilometers of Qiaxi Grassland is just like the thrill of watching the snow-capped mountains when you first entered the mountain. The camping site in the Mohuer Grassland is in a small mountain depression, and the wind is very small. During dinner, the moon is on the treetops. At this time, the friends who are planning to shoot at night can set up the tripod and wait;

?? In the end, the experience of walking 120 kilometers in 6 days and walking up to 27 kilometers a day is a milestone record, and the sense of accomplishment is +10086.

DAY 1 All over the country - Urumqi - Yining

From Urumqi to Yining, you can take a car or a train.

The passenger bus runs for about 12 hours, and the departure time is 12:30 \ 19:30 \ 21:00, and the daily schedule is slightly different. (For details, you can go to the New Passenger Station window to inquire or follow WeChat Tianshan Line Xinjiang Highway Passenger Transport for more information)

Trains are relatively comfortable. There are several shifts per day, and the running time ranges from 5 hours to 11 hours. You can choose according to your own situation. If you choose the night train, you can sleep overnight and arrive at your destination early in the morning.

DAY 2 Yining City-Tex-Jongkush Terrace

From Yining to Qiongkushitai, you can charter a car and transfer to Tekes County. The asphalt road to Qiongkushitai Village has been well built. The second half is dominated by winding winding roads, and the section near the entrance of the village is a slightly bumpy gravel road. The scenery along the way changes from the endless farmland to the reddish-brown Gobi Desert, and then to the spruce forest surrounded by snow-capped mountains.

DAY 3 Qiongkushitai-Xikalajun Grassland

Going out of the village along the direction of the stream, the originally wide and soft meadow dirt road section, sometimes passing through shallow small streams, turns into a gravel road section shuttling through the forest, and the road becomes more rugged. The higher you go, the better the viewing angle. The sheep are grazing leisurely on the grassland, like pearls scattered on the grassland. When the weather is fine, you can see the snow-capped peaks in a line at the left rear of the camp, and you can take pictures of the golden mountains at sunset in the evening.

DAY 4 West Kalajun Grassland-East Kalajun Grassland

Today's itinerary is not difficult. In mid-May, the buttercups on the Kalajun Grassland have already bloomed one after another. There are also several purple primroses showing their stamens, which are extraordinarily gorgeous against the green grassland carpet. Zhongkala Jun, which is far away from the scenic spot, is not disturbed by tourists, and still maintains its original ecology and style. Along the way, the Kurdai Forest Grand Canyon accompanied us, and the dark green snowy spruce climbed the slopes and went straight to the sky.

At night, camp in the East Kalajun Grassland. If the weather is good, you can shoot the starry sky of the prairie.

DAY 5 East Kalajun Grassland - Tarim Grassland

Today is the most amazing day of the whole itinerary. Shortly after departure, the gentle slope climbed to a high place, and several snow peaks formed a line on the right side, among which many glaciers poured down from the grooves of the mountain like tassels, spreading to halfway. on the mountainside. The snow mountain peaks are close at hand, as if within reach, and have been running parallel to our hiking route on the other side of the valley.

China's most beautiful three-dimensional grassland landscape belt, with snow-capped mountains and strange peaks in the distance, stretching endlessly

The altitude here (the highest point is 2,900 meters above sea level) is relatively higher than Xikalajun, which leads to the later spring here, and there is still some snow on Daban in early June.

There are several water pools on the way, which can take good pictures of the reflections of snow-capped mountains and people.

After lunch at the highest point, slow down all the way to tonight's camp - Tarim Grassland. Remember to wear knee pads and adjust the height of trekking poles to protect your knees. As the scene changes step by step, the snow and large rocks gradually disappear, replaced by the undulating grassland with a wide view, and as the altitude decreases, the sea of flowers returns to the view. But the snow mountain has been on our right side to accompany the whole journey.

When it was about to reach the camp, the path turned into gravel, and the soil beside the road was inlaid with a large number of smooth stones and tree roots intertwined with each other. Hearing the sound of the stream, we are about to reach Tarim, and the dawn of victory is just ahead, so hurry up and keep up with the pace.

Here in the Tarim Grassland is a small resort built in a narrow and long shape along the river. There is relatively complete board and lodging reception capacity, and you can take a hot bath and charge. Although the conditions cannot be compared with those in the city, it will be better than when camping, and at the same time, simple supplies can be carried out.

Hiking distance: about 24 kilometers

Climbing height: about 1000 meters down

Time-consuming: about 8 hours

DAY 6 Tarim Grassland - Qiaxi Grassland

"The south of the Yangtze River is in Ili, and the most beautiful place in Ili is Qiaxi." Qiaxi Grassland is located in the southeastern mountainous area of Gongliu, with an altitude of 1,500 meters. It is warm in winter and cool in summer, with a pleasant climate backed by snow-capped mountains. The homestay resort and the park management office are separated by a bridge - Swallow Bridge.

Compared with yesterday's crazy downhill, today's journey is completely "bangzhuang avenue". Today’s snow-capped mountains seem to be playing hide-and-seek with us. Shortly after departure, they disappeared on the other side of the hillside. After turning over a Daban in the last few kilometers, it appeared again in the spruce forest and stayed with us all the time. Arrive at the camp - the yurt camp under the snow mountain. The overall difficulty is not too big, basically a dirt road, where yellow wild rape flowers and blue forget-me-nots are blooming. However, if a cloud floats over the mountain, it will rain, so waterproof tools such as ponchos should be prepared with you.

Leaving the Tarim Grassland, there is a short climb. You can see that when yesterday's Laishi Road approached the Qiaxi Grassland, the snow-capped mountains appeared again in the dense fir forest. The yurt of Qiaxi Grassland Folklore Tourist Spot under the Snow Mountain. (The shops here only do business for four or five months a year. There are a lot of tourists who come here in summer to spend the summer, and the hotels in autumn and winter are basically closed and evacuated.)

Hiking distance: about 27 kilometers

Climbing height: about 200 meters

Time-consuming: about 8 hours

DAY 7 Qiaxi Grassland - Mohuer Grassland

The entrance to the mountain for hiking is at the end of the road. When the store is not busy, it can help to drive a section of the way. The initial grass is deep and hard to walk, with dense spruce on one side and undulating green "carpet" on the other side. From time to time, you will meet a wooden house. When the pasture is open in summer, the herdsmen will live here when they go up to the mountains to graze.

When we set off, there were many cumulus clouds, which covered the snow-capped mountains tightly and dispersed the clouds and mist. The snow-capped mountains showed their true appearance and stood majestically in front of us.

Walking through the dense forest, a small stream appears from time to time, and the water flow of the stream washes out pieces of small river beaches. Choose a narrower part of the creek to cross the river, and use large stones or dead wood to build a road.

There are a lot of dead trees on the road today. After crossing the creek, choose a tree to sit down, eat some road food to replenish energy and take a rest.

Gradually stepping into the Mohuer Grassland, on a flat grassland, the field of vision becomes wider again, with continuous snow-capped mountains. The herdsmen here rode motorcycles to graze, accompanied by a snow-white puppy. Horses, cows, and sheep gnawed wantonly on this grassland.

Today's camp is in a small valley running roughly north-south, with little wind, but the temperature drops quickly after the sun sets, so you need to prepare warm clothes.

The sun began to set gradually, and the snow-capped mountains behind me became like the shy blush on the face of a girl when she saw her lover under the printing and dyeing of the setting sun. At the same time, the woods on the east side of the valley are distinct in light and shade.

*********************************

Hiking distance: about 24 kilometers

Height of climb: not much difference

Time-consuming: about 7 hours

DAY 8 Mohuer-Kurdening-Yining City-Urumqi

The last day of hiking, today's itinerary is very easy, the snow-capped mountains are getting closer and further away.

The sun at around 10 o'clock in the morning is not stingy in the woods, elongating the shadows of the cedar trees, and these countless shadows are intertwined. Walking in the forest, there is no feeling of heat.

Looking back at the snow-capped mountains, the highest peak of the Nalati Mountains - Kabanbayi Peak (4257 meters) stands tall and straight among the endless snow-capped peaks. This is the last place to see the snow-capped mountains

After taking a last look at the snow-capped mountains, I put away my mobile phone and went down the mountain to return to the civilized world.

At the end of the whole hiking section, you can take a car and return directly to Yining City, and then return to Urumqi.

DAY 9 Urumqi - all over the country

The end.

2. Diet in Kala Jun
1. Local delicacies

As the saying goes, "Food is the most important thing for the people." The food here has been accumulated and inherited for thousands of years, and it is deposited in the smoke floating in the yurt and on the dining table of the local Kazakhs. As long as you want, you can always eat from the street to the alley.

>>>>> eat

Naan, hand-caught mutton, pilaf, noodle slices, mixed noodles, rice soup, pepper chicken, milk tea, large plate chicken, kebabs...

◣Hand-caught lamb: On Xinjiang cuisine, this dish bears the brunt. Freshly killed lambs are peeled and cut into meat, and thrown into a large pot of boiling water to cook in vain. The freshly slaughtered mutton is tender, crispy, sweet and delicate, and you can taste the original taste of the mutton bite by bite, without any smell of mutton.

◣Big plate chicken: Chop chicken into pieces, blanch in water to remove blood foam impurities, fry with various seasonings and stew in boiling water. Then add green peppers, potatoes, and dried chilis, stir-fry and take out of the pan. The colorful, smooth and spicy chicken and the soft and sweet potatoes are spicy and fragrant.

◣ Pi Yazi (transliteration): Onions from Xinjiang, this dish is inseparable from the dinner table here, with mutton and kebabs in hand, and Pi Yazi. The freshly cut onions are matched with green peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. according to the ingredients or personal taste. Purple, red, white, and green add an attractive fragrance and color to the meat.

◣Pilaf: One of the staple foods in Xinjiang, it is a favorite meal of Uyghurs, Uzbeks and other ethnic groups, and it is also a meal for entertaining guests during festivals. Stir-fry the carrots and mutton until they are 7 minutes cooked, put on the rice, and use the heat of the vegetables and mutton oil to cook the rice until it is fragrant but not greasy. The boiled rice is yellow, steaming, and fragrant. I can't wait to serve two bowls in one go. (There are vegetarian pilaf and mutton pilaf here, if you have a taboo, you can choose vegetarian pilaf to try something new)

>>>>> drink

Big Wusu, Kavas (transliteration), milk tea, horse milk, pomegranate juice...

◣Kavas: It is a unique Russian-style beverage in Yining. It is brewed from natural products such as barley, rye or buckwheat, and hops. Now Xinjiang is mostly made with beer and honey for secondary fermentation.

◣Milk tea: The milk tea in Xinjiang is different from the milk tea in Taiwan, it is salty. In pastoral areas, there are few vegetables, and milk tea is needed to help digestion; winter can dispel the cold and summer can dispel heat and quench thirst. For milk tea in Xinjiang, when the tea is boiled thicker, fresh milk is added, salt is added and it is ready to drink when it is boiled again. It is usually paired with naan cut into small pieces, yogurt lumps and other side dishes.

2. Meals and water during the hike

Basically, during the few days of camping, you need to prepare food and find water sources by yourself, and the rest of the places can be solved at the accommodation.

?The use of herdsmen's water and the site fee for tent construction in West Karajun need to be negotiated and paid for use;

?East Kalajun The water source of the camp is in a small mountain depression, and the surrounding area is built with stones, which can be used to wash vegetables and dishes;

?Mohuer Grassland There are also herdsmen in the camp. The camp is set up by the water, and the water source is sufficient.

3. "Scattering wild" in Kalajun

"Hiking" "The wonders and wonders of the world are extraordinary, and often lie in danger and distance." Hikers cross mountains and ridges, cross passes and grasslands, and walk in the core area of the scenic spot, which is beyond the reach of ordinary tourist routes. Few tourist facilities have been established, so the hiking area still maintains its original ecology and style.

"Stargazing" In the middle of the night, when the moon sets on the other side of the mountain, only the light of the stars is left at this moment, and the starry sky is also quietly revealing the truth at this time. There was silence all around, as if only he and the galaxy in the universe were having a conversation.

"Outdoor Camping" In this VIP viewing platform, set up a tent and unzip it to see the continuous snow-capped mountains, dusk and sunset, morning sun and sunrise, and brilliant stars.

More ways to play are waiting for you to discover and explore~~

4. Photographed in Kala Jun

There is such a picture scroll: blue sky, white clouds of various shapes, white snow, green grassland, dark green spruce forest, colorful flower fields, and herds of cattle, sheep and horses walking among the clouds on the green carpet. , Outdoor brightly colored jackets are dotted in the picture scroll, at this moment we seem to be integrated into this prairie.

In Kalajun in mid-May, large areas of golden nasturtiums are blooming. When the camera is lowered, the flowers look more lovely against the backdrop of the snow-capped mountains. A breeze blows, and the rhizomes and flowers sway... Then, within a month, blue forget-me-nots, purple primroses, tricolor Pansies and tulips are also competing to bloom, waiting for the wind to come

East and West Kalajun camps, when the weather is good, the sunset glow in the evening and the golden mountain in the morning sunshine, as well as the star trails and the starry sky at night are all good shooting materials.

epilogue

Finally, I hope this Kalajun hiking guide can be helpful for your travel. It would be even better if you can go with our club~~

This year, the service has been upgraded, providing professional waterproof panniers, professional camping tents (with a vestibule for panniers and backpacks), inflatable moisture-proof pads, a magic headscarf, a trekking pole as a gift, and local herdsmen are guests to taste handmade yogurt and milk tea.

Friends benefits: Secretly tell you, I still have a lot of private collections of beautiful pictures and small videos [ Shh~~

In fact, primitiveness and development have been a contradictory existence since ancient times. Nianbao Yuze, Niubei Mountain, and Wugong Mountain, these places that were once called "mysteries", because more people know, some of them may have been erected as modern tourist facilities, the secrets are no longer mysterious, and the beauty of Kalajun is still So pure.

"May you go out half your life and come back as a teenager"

mutual encouragement!
