Huangcheng Xiangfu was originally named "Zhongdaozhuang". Later, Emperor Kangxi stayed here twice, so it was named "Huangcheng".
With a construction area of 36,000 square meters, the Imperial City Prime Minister's Mansion is large in scale, and the entire building complex is divided into inner city and outer city. The inner city was built by Chen Tingjing's uncle Chen Changyan in Chongzhen for six years to avoid war, and it is mainly the place where the Chen family lives.

Dianhan Hall was named by Chen Zhuanglu, the son of Chen Tingjing, as the Xinke Hanlin when Kangxi came to the Prime Minister's Mansion in the imperial city.
Unbeatable architectural design
The most distinctive building in Huangcheng Xiangfu is the Heshan Building, which means "heshan is a prison". It is said that it was built by three brothers Chen Jiachangyan, Changqi and Changqi to resist the invasion of bandits. The Heshan Building is a masonry structure as a whole, without square wood, and can accommodate more than a thousand people at the same time.
It is difficult for ordinary people to imagine such a large-scale civil and military defense fortress. Even today, the design of Heshan Building is very scientific and reasonable.
Windows are only installed on the third floor of the Heshan Building, and the stone gate to enter the fort is suspended above the second floor and connected to the ground through a suspension bridge. In order to facilitate the detection of the enemy's situation, not only crenels and battlements were built on the roof of the Heshan Building, but also a secret tunnel was specially opened up to facilitate the transfer and escape.
