Located in Nilek County, Tangbula Grassland is a collective name for the canyon and grassland landscape in the upper reaches of the Kashgar River. It is named after the Tangbula Grand Canyon. Because there is a huge rock on the mountain ridge on the east side of the valley, which looks like a jade seal, it is named Tangbula (meaning seal in Kazakh). From the Nileke County seat along the source of the Kashi River, the lush mountain grasslands and river valley grasslands on both sides of the Kashi River are what people usually refer to as the Tangbula Grassland.

It is said that there are 113 ditches and 113 scenes in Tangbula, and Kazakh Aken (folk poet) can impromptu sing the wonders of each valley.
