In addition to these scenic spots, each county town also has its own characteristics. Some have been important towns on the ancient tea-horse road since ancient times, some are ancient cultural cities with a long history, and some are built between two mountains, shaped like a line, which is what people usually call The so-called "first-tier city", Basu, located on National Highway 318, is such a "first-tier" city.
In the southeast of Basu Changdu City, it is located in the upper reaches of the Nujiang River. Baima Town, where the county seat is located, is 3,260 meters above sea level. It is adjacent to Zuogong County and Chaya County in the east, Chayu County in the south, Luolong County and Bomi County in Nyingchi City in the west, and Karuo District and Leiwuqi County in Changdu City to the north. The county covers an area of 12,564.28 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 43,000, which is six times the size of Shenzhen, but its population is less than that of a village in the developed eastern region.
Basu County belongs to the alpine valley area of the Sanjiang River Basin, and can be divided into three natural areas from east to west. They are the Bangda area south of Qamdo in the northeast, which is a plateau grassland area at a higher altitude. The Nujiang River Basin in China extends to Zuogong County, which is a transition zone between mountains and valleys. The rest of the area is surrounded by high mountains, interspersed with canyons, and the terrain is more complex, which is an alpine and canyon area.
Some friends asked why it is called Basu instead of Qisu and Jiusu. In fact, Basu is a transliteration of Tibetan, which means "village at the foot of Warrior Mountain". After it was assigned to Tibet in the third year of Emperor Yongzheng (1725) of the Qing Dynasty, it was managed by people sent by Gongdelin Temple in Lhasa. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, it was merged into Enda County when the soil was changed. After the early years of the Republic of China, Basu sect was established. In 1951, the Basu Sect Liberation Committee was established. In May 1959, Basuzong was changed to Basu County. In January 1964, the county government moved to Baima Town. Now it has 1 district, 1 town and 14 townships under its jurisdiction.
Although Basu County has a large area under its jurisdiction, its population is not large. National Highway 318 passes through the city, and this is the most important street in the entire Basu County. It is not an exaggeration to say that it is a "first-tier city". Because apart from the 318 street, even if there are small streets, they are relatively short, not really a main street, and on the other side is a winding river.
Although the economy of Basu County is mediocre, there are many nationally famous scenic spots and rich tourist information. For example, Laigu Glacier, one of the top ten glaciers in my country, is located in Basu County. One of the ice glaciers; there is also the most beautiful and largest lake on the Sichuan-Tibet line, Ranwu Lake, which is also located in Ranwu Town, Basu County. This 28-kilometer-long barrier lake is believed to be familiar to anyone who has walked the Sichuan-Tibet line. .
There are also the famous 72 turns of the Nujiang River, Rencuo Lake, etc., which are also located in Basu County. Qamdo Bangda Airport, the second highest altitude in the world, is also located in Basu County, so Basu County is really a place not to be missed.
