On September 15, 2021, after two days of driving from Chengdu, I finally arrived at Gangtuo Town, the gateway to eastern Tibet. This is the place where the first five-star red flag of Tibet was raised. On October 7, 1950, the Eighteenth Army fired the first shot to liberate Tibet from the Jinsha River in Gangtuo Village, Jiangda County. Gangtuo witnessed this peak moment, which is of great significance to the peaceful liberation of Tibet.

The predecessors planted trees, and the descendants enjoyed the shade. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet. Taking advantage of the opportunity that Jiangda County is holding the 7th "Hengduan Mountains Walking the Jinzhu Mami Road" and "I Speak for Hometown Tourism", we will target Jiangda Gangtuo . Along the way, there have been ups and downs, and I have personally experienced the hardships of the Eighteenth Army.

In the early morning of the 16th, I came to Hongqi Square in Gangtuo Town and participated in the opening ceremony of the event. Colorful flags were fluttering at the scene, and many Tibetan friends from surrounding villages and towns came to watch, and the atmosphere was very warm.

Afterwards, the Kangba man and Rumei Zhuoma from the Jiangda County Song and Dance Troupe performed unique and passionate Tibetan songs and dances for everyone.

Surprisingly, more than 20 representatives from 13 villages and towns in Jiangda also took the stage to speak for their hometown tourism in various forms such as singing, dancing and reciting. The waves of applause gave us a taste of the hospitable nature of Kham men and women.

In the afternoon, enter the link of "re-walking the road of Jinzhu Mami". Wearing military uniforms from the 1950s, we went to the Jinsha River where the 18th Army crossed the river with the spokespersons of the townships and the descendants of the "nine boatmen" who helped the 18th Army cross the river. series of activities.

First of all, the armed police soldiers from the Gangtuo checkpoint conducted military posture training for the members of the experience group.

Then, a solemn flag-raising ceremony is held. The national flag raising ceremony is an important way to carry out patriotic education and collectivism education. The flag bearer carefully tied the national flag to the rope, slowly pulled the other end of the rope, and the five-star red flag rose slowly into the blue sky of Nawa, blue tiles, and the scenes of revolutionary heroes bleeding and dying on this land kept flashing in their minds.

Next, Zewang Pingcuo, an 83-year-old man in Gangtuo Village, and the descendants of the "Nine Boatmen" told everyone about the personal experience of the 18th Army firing the first shot to liberate Tibet in Gangtuo and the "Nine Boatmen" helping ten people. The touching story of the Eighth Army crossing the river.

Afterwards, we took a neat step and officially started the hiking experience of "re-walking the Jinzhu Mami Road" from the 18th Army's crossing of the river. Passing through Gangtuo Village, I recalled the battle scenes of that year and witnessed the great development and changes of Gangtuo Village.

Gangtuo Village is now beautifully built. Every family has a new house, and every household is planting flowers. The five-star red flag flutters in the wind in Gangtuo Village, which symbolizes the prosperity of the new life in Gangtuo Village.

Finally, return to Hongqi Square in Gangtuo Town to visit the old site of the 18th Army Barracks. After gaining a deep understanding of the epic deeds of the 18th Army's march into Tibet and the construction of Tibet, members of the "Re-walking the Jinzhu Mami Road" experience group also held a special symposium.

At the symposium, listening to everyone's enthusiastic speeches, they all felt that it is very meaningful to have a deep understanding of history and remember the red tourism of the martyrs. We have personally experienced that period of history that cannot be forgotten, and we will also try our best to promote the red tourism of Gangtuo Village through the means of communication that we are good at.
