When a person starts a journey, at least there will be a reason, an expectation, and a name. In other words, it is because there is a cause of wanting to travel to a certain place that the fruit of embarking on a journey is planted.

In autumn, when the leaves start to turn yellow, it is said that all living beings in the Three Realms are irritable and restless. Probably because of turning over the vibrant "summer", the page of autumn looks a bit decadent, which makes people think of the passing of youth.

At this time, the most important thing is meditation. Choose a beautiful place, walk slowly, meditate and feel while walking, and let your mood slowly settle down.

Because a good friend is from Binchuan County, Dali. From her mouth, I know that Jizu Mountain is one of the five famous Buddhist mountains in China. I know that the sunrise of Jizu Mountain is so beautiful. I know that Jizu Mountain The Huashou Gate is a legendary place, and knowing that the monkeys in Jizu Mountain are very lively...all these make me fascinated.

Jizu Mountain is a Buddhist holy land with the same reputation as Mount Wutai, Mount Emei, Mount Putuo, and Mount Jiuhua. It is one of the five famous Buddhist mountains in China; it is also the birthplace of Zen Buddhism. Venerable Ye guarded his clothes at the Huashou Gate and entered meditation, which established its lofty position in the Buddhist world.

In 1639, Xu Xiake traveled for the last time, and the destination was Jizu Mountain. Monk Jingwen from Nanjing also went to Jizu Mountain to go with Xu Xiake. He met a robber in Chuanshan on the Xiangjiang River. Xu Xiake jumped into the water and escaped. Monk Jingwen was seriously injured. His ashes were brought to Jizu Mountain. If you can't live as you wish, you will be buried in Jizu Mountain when you die. His words are very touching. Xu Xiake has been carrying Jingwen's ashes through many hardships, and was finally buried in Jizu Mountain.

However, due to lack of free time, this plan was temporarily shelved. I kept saying that I would go, but I never went. Until a while ago, I suddenly fell ill and felt uncomfortable doing various things. My friend told me that Jizu Mountain is a very spiritual mountain, so if you say it, you must go there! Presumably, there were similar rumors in the folks that one cannot make a wish casually, so, taking advantage of two days of free time, she and her started a journey to Jizu Mountain.

On the evening of August 31, I took the high-speed rail from Kunming and arrived in Dali in 2 hours. My friend drove to Dali Station to pick me up and stayed with her in Binchuan County for one night. Early the next morning, the two of us Then drove off.

Here is the gate of Jizu Mountain, engraved with the words "Lingshan Yihui" on the gate, which is said to have been written by Zhao Puchu, chairman of the National Buddhist Association. There is a parking lot in front of the door, the road up is very steep, and there are some restaurants and shops on both sides of the road.

After buying the tickets, we drove directly to Xianghui Street, parked the car in the parking lot here, and started to visit.

Zhusheng Temple

The first stop is Zhusheng Temple, which can be said to be the most famous and best-preserved temple in Jizu Mountain.

Zhusheng Temple is located in the hinterland of Jizu Mountain. It was built by the eminent monk Xuyun in the Qing Dynasty with the support of Cixi. Emperor Guangxu named it "Guoguo Zhusheng Temple". On the double eaves of the Daxiong Hall, there are also plaques "Drinking the Light" bestowed by Sun Yat-sen in 1912 and "Glory of the Spiritual Prison" bestowed by Liang Qichao.

Coming out of Zhusheng Temple, instead of going to Yulong Waterfall and Muni Temple, go directly to the sightseeing cableway station. We met many cute monkeys on the way. The monkeys here belong to the more honest kind. We bought sunflower seeds and peanuts on the side of the road to feed them. Two packs of peanuts and one pack of sunflower seeds cost 10 yuan in total.

It has to be said that the vegetation of Jizu Mountain is considered to be a very well-protected place, and the vegetation along the way is quite dense.

Walk forward for about 15 minutes and arrive at the Yuhuangge parking lot. From here, you can take a sightseeing bus to the next station of the sightseeing cableway. Because the physical strength of both of us is not very good, we chose to take the cableway up the mountain and then walk down from the top of the mountain. Friends who choose to hike up the mountain can walk from the stairs at the entrance of the Jade Buddha Temple.

The cableway does not directly reach the Jinding Temple, there is still a distance from the Jinding Temple, but as long as you are not old, weak, sick or disabled, there is no problem climbing up.

Jinding Temple

Even if it is only a short distance, it is still quite a challenge for us two sports losers! Stop and go, finally arrived at Jinding Temple.

Jinding Temple is located on the top of Tianzhu Peak, at an altitude of 3240 meters, it is the highest temple in Jizu Mountain. It is said that in Jinding Temple, you can watch the sunrise in the east, Cang'er in the west, the sea of clouds in the south, and the Yulong in the north. This is the most magnificent and peculiar natural scenery of Jizu Mountain. Xu Xiake, a strange person through the ages, once praised: "Of the four, it is amazing to get one in China, but it is almost complete. This is not the first chicken foot, but the first in China."

Climbing to the top of Tianzhu Peak, you can see the blue sky, white clouds and the majestic pagoda at a glance. The most intuitive feeling is that this trip is worthwhile.

Entering the Jinding Temple, you can see a golden hall. Behind the golden hall is a hollow square brick pagoda with dense eaves - the Shurangama Pagoda. This pagoda was built in 1929 by Long Yun, chairman of the National Government of Yunnan Province, at the request of monks during his mountaineering tour. Standing in front of the Golden Palace, the Golden Palace seems to be integrated with the Shurangama Pagoda without any sense of disobedience.

There are many tourists waiting in front of the Golden Temple waiting for a lottery. Of course, we love the excitement and we can't miss it! After queuing for about ten minutes at the gate of the Golden Palace, they successfully won the top two teams.

Turning around the Golden Temple, we saw many tourists circling around the Shurangama Pagoda, which is the "turning pagoda" in Tibetan Buddhism. The turret is to express the respect in the heart. There is no special requirement for the number of times. Generally, it turns 3 or 7 times, but there are strict requirements for the direction. It must be turned to the right, that is, clockwise. . We followed the others quietly around three times before leaving.

After that is the Daxiong Palace. It is worth mentioning that there is no need to bring incense up the mountain by yourself. There is a place for free incense paper in front of the Daxiong Hall.

We stayed at Jinding Temple for about an hour. We were about to go down the mountain and bypass the temple. What we saw was a completely different scene from before.

Sunshine, blue sky, prayer flags, scattered wind horses, it seems that there are bursts of Sanskrit sounds echoing in my ears. At this moment, I gradually understand why so many people are willing to abandon all kinds of worldly things and choose to become a monk to practice. It really has the power to calm the mind.

Whistling all the way down the mountain, the pedestrians who didn't know how far away in front of us also whistled to respond to us after hearing it, one after another, which was very interesting. At this moment, I really feel that the whole person is very relaxed and refreshed.

Going straight down the stone road, you can see a very steep and narrow gorge. My friend told me that it is called Shushen Gorge. We decided to go down from here!

The road is really steep, and you have to hold on to the railing next to each step tightly. When you finish the Shushen Gorge, your calves are shaking. Obviously there is not much distance, maybe because you are too nervous!

After passing the Shushen Gorge, go straight ahead, and you will encounter some "Mani piles" on the road, which are altars made of stones and slabs. When you see these mani piles, you can't step on them with your feet, and you can't take down the stones to play with them! This is the pious wish of others and must be respected! But you can pick up another stone and put it on it (meaning to add blessings and longevity).

Huashoumen

The next stop is Huashou Gate.

There is a saying like this: "Jishan is the most beautiful in the world, and Huashou is the most beautiful in the world." When you come to Jizu Mountain, if you don't go to Huashoumen, it will be a pity. .

Jizushan Huashou Gate is not only famous at home and abroad for its unique oddities and dangers, but also because it is said to be the place where Sakyamuni's great disciple Kasyapa kept his clothes and entered meditation, so it is called "the first gate in China" by Buddhists. Door". Huashou Gate is a natural cliff in the southwest of Tianzhu Peak, the top peak of Jizu Mountain. It is as straight as a knife, facing the abyss, just like a tightly closed stone gate.

Li Yuanyang of the Tang Dynasty recorded in "Jiajing Dali Mansion Records": In the middle of the Tang Dynasty, there was a monk named Xiaocheng in Jizu Mountain who lived with two other monks in a small nunnery next to Huashou Gate to practice. One day, monk Xiaocheng came back from the city for alms. He asked two monks who were living in the nunnery to fast, but was refused. The first gate slowly opened, and the monk Xiaocheng walked into the Huashou gate. The two monks quietly realized that the monk Xiaocheng was the incarnation of Mahakassapa, so they chased him away. Unexpectedly, they just arrived in front of the Huashou gate. , the door was closed, and they could not go in.

The most amazing thing is that facing the Huashou Gate, on the lower right stone wall, you can see a "human face", which is very similar to the old monk Xuyun! The head's eyes, nose, and mouth are very prominent. Among them, the eyes are closed, especially like the expression of a monk when he is sitting in meditation. Many tourists who come here to see this head are amazed!

Kasyapa Temple

Further down is the Kasyapa Hall.

Kasyapa Hall, also known as Kassa Temple, is located on the east side of Tianzhu Peak in Jizu Mountain. It is said that the founder of Jizu Mountain, Venerable Kasyapa, kept his clothes on the big rock in the hall for 500 years. It is for this reason that the Kasyapa Hall occupies a pivotal position among the many temples in Jizu Mountain, and is known as "the first temple in the mountain" and "the ancestral court of all temples in the mountain".

Jiaye Temple is the largest temple in Jizu Mountain. It was named "Tianzhi" in ancient times. Because it is directly above the Jinding Temple, there is a saying that "Jiaye lights the lamp to illuminate the Jinding".

After visiting the Kasyapa Temple, continue down the mountain. This is the staircase in front of the Kasyapa Hall. The steps are relatively narrow, only two-thirds of the foot can be accommodated, and one has to hold on to the railing to walk.

After descending from this narrow staircase, there is a section of more brutal stone steps. After counting, there are about 600 steps, and there is basically no buffer. Many people choose to ride horses here, but we still choose to walk down!

On the way down the mountain, I met a young lady who was walking up the mountain. Although she was not physically strong, she kept telling herself that she would be there soon, and then took a break to move on. Perhaps, coming to Jizu Mountain should have this spirit of courage to climb! So the two of us lamented again, it is really too lack of exercise!

I also met some monks who came to Jizu Mountain to pay homage, three steps and one worship, and it went back and forth, which can be said to be very pious! (Out of respect for the monks, no photos were taken)

Stopping and stopping, when I arrived at the Yuhuangge parking lot, my two legs seemed to be not my own. I really can't imagine what kind of state I would be in if I really climbed up and walked down!

This is the end of the trip to Jizu Mountain. Although I didn’t climb it by myself, I have reached the top. I saw the most magnificent scene, the most magical stone wall, and realized a bit of Zen. The only regret Just didn't see the sunrise. I hope that when I come back next time, I can climb up from the foot of the mountain, then stay at the top of the mountain for one night, and watch the sunrise at the top of the mountain the next day.

Sometimes, leaving regrets is also to come back again!
