Today is the 100th day of the self-driving tour, a very commemorative day, and we will visit a very commemorative scenic spot.

For the vast majority of people, "meaning" is a very ethereal thing. For example, in the 1960s, when Chinese people were generally hungry, some people could eat meat from time to time, which was really "meaningful". Lixiang, I feel better—how can I be so different! Nowadays, as long as every household thinks about it, they can eat meat every day. Except for some religious people who pray "thank God for the food" before meals, no one is proud or grateful for it.

So even if most people don’t have to worry about survival—no matter how bad it is, sweeping the road can always satisfy their hunger, but they still feel meaningless after eating and drinking: where is the car? What about the house? What about poetry and distance? What about beautiful companions? What about "dignity"... The Internet is full of short videos showing luxurious life, making people think that other than the sad self, everyone else is living in a honeypot, and there are overwhelming wealth worship remarks, similar to "no Money deserves to be looked down upon”, “The greatest freedom is the freedom of wealth”, “Having money does not necessarily make you happy, but others will try to make you happy”, “You can’t imagine the happiness of rich people”..... .

Immersed in this environment, you are likely to look down on yourself before others look down on you, and the latter is a more terrible mental disability than the former. When you lose your self-esteem, even other people's unintentional eyes will make you sensitively think that he is despising you! Conversely, when you have self-esteem, even if others deliberately despise you, your strong heart will support you to either fight back forcefully, or just ignore it with a smile.

So self-esteem is a good thing, it can help you maintain a stable mind in the vain and noisy world of mortals. But please note that the self-esteem here is by no means the same as blind self-esteem, but it is precisely the success of worshiping wealth that is easy to breed such a deformed "self-esteem"-without solid learning, accumulation and precipitation, in vain attempting to pass on every day. I have become the best by chanting "I am the best" in the mirror. I have never figured out why some people believe in such absurd training. It may be that the temptation of "making a lot of money" is too great, so that some people would rather give up the best. The minimum of reason and common sense really complies with the slogan of the "master" of success: "To get rich, go crazy first!"

So how do you develop healthy self-esteem?

I think: First of all, you must understand that money itself is not meaning, but what you exchange for money is meaning. Therefore, assuming that you have wealth and freedom now, what do you want to use it for? Of course, eating and drinking, men and women, the envy and respect of those around you, "I will be with those who know poorly"... are the initial desires of most people, but I will tell you responsibly (strange! I don’t have much money, I have never experienced the life of a rich man, why do I say "responsible" without shame? Probably I am convinced from my sporadic experience of indulgence and luxury and the psychological knowledge I got from books): These desires are too easy to satisfy. It will be like a meteor, fleeting, leaving only a dark night-like emptiness. Many people's lives are spent in the anxiety of pursuit, boredom of satisfaction and pain of emptiness. So after material desire, have you thought about your spiritual pursuit?

Secondly, when you calmly sort out your spiritual pursuits, you will find that many things do not need to be rich to achieve, such as reading, music, travel (there are ways to save money on travel)... unless you put your spiritual pursuit It is also materialized as a tool for comparison, otherwise, it will only provide you with stable nourishment, and because it does not come with any sensory stimulation, it is often accompanied by obvious or hidden tingling (such as the game of ideas, the transformation of aesthetics, etc.) etc.), its nourishment is continuous, deep and long-lasting.

Again, unlike secular success, there is a universally recognized and unified standard - the level of power and the number of wealth. Spiritual pursuits are diverse. They can be expanded in breadth or dig deep. You are the God of your spiritual world. The premise Just don't deceive yourself and others, and really work hard to expand your territory in this world.

Finally, once you have a spiritual pursuit, you will gradually build a set of value systems in your heart—a kind of extremely resilient spiritual wall. Under its protection, wealth is no longer the ultimate pursuit: yes, without feeling cumbersome and empty; No, no feeling of lack and inferiority. In this way, it can be regarded as a truly self-respecting person.

The first person in the world to climb Mount Everest was the British mountaineer George Mallory. A reporter once asked him why he climbed Mount Everest. He said: "Because it is there." The first time I saw it I learned that this story is in the middle school English textbook. At that time, I was very puzzled by the answer, and even felt that the answer was irrelevant. In the long years of more than ten years, I experienced ups and downs, went round and round, experienced some hardships, and finally faced the world's highest peak, I realized a little bit: when a person's heart is extremely strong, the value is extremely When he became clear, he no longer had words such as "conquer", "challenge", and "first" in his heart, but returned to the basics to "I simply want to do this", and without hesitation, "dedicating life is also no hesitation".

On June 8, 1924, when George Mallory reached the summit of Mount Everest for the second time, he stayed forever in the snow mountain that will always be there......

(George Mallory, the picture comes from the Internet)

That's right, what I want to show you today is the highest on the surface - Mount Everest.

Not far from Tingri County to the south, you come to the north gate of Mount Everest National Park. This is the intersection of Mount Everest Landscape Avenue and National Highway 318. The large characters on the forehead of the gate are inscribed by the 11th Panchen Lama Erdeni.

Show the border defense card at the gate, buy tickets and vehicle environmental protection fees, and then you can drive into the landscape avenue, with a total length of 102 kilometers, passing through Qie Village, Jiawula Pass, Yunjia Village, Zhaxizong Village, Quzong Village, Mount Everest Visitor Center to Rongbuk Temple (it used to be able to reach the base camp of Mt. Everest directly, but now the area beyond Rongbuk Temple has been closed), and the mountain road from Qie Village to Yunjia Village has a total of 108 turns.

To say that this road of ladders really lives up to its name, not to mention the high altitude of more than 5000 meters, but the endless steep slopes and sharp turns that turn one after another, are enough to make people feel nervous. With the lessons learned not long ago, this kind of sharp turn on a slope with no oncoming traffic makes me more cautious. Some road sections have mountains on both sides, so I need to beware of fast oncoming cars on the uphill, and some places only have mountains on one side. Beware of sliding down hills when cornering. Driving carefully all the way, no danger was encountered, but I ran into a wild donkey in a ravine, shaking in place like a drunk man, and when I drove closer, I found that there was a deep and long crack on the donkey's shoulder, which was still oozing out The blood should have been hit by a car not long ago. The donkey was shivering in pain on the side of the road. The roaring vehicles could no longer disturb it. It could only wait to die in severe pain...

I have gone through the winding mountain roads such as Huzhu Twelve Slopes, Eighteen Bends of Tianlu, Seventy-two Turns of the Nujiang River, etc., and then I have seen famous mountain roads such as the Panlong Ancient Road, but the thrilling 108th turn of Mount Everest is unprecedented. No one came after.

Climbing all the way up, I came to the Jiawula Pass at an altitude of 5198 meters. The height is extremely cold, but it is quite lively here. There are many tourists who come by car on the viewing platform. It turns out that this mountain pass is the "Shoulders of Giants". Standing here, you can see several world-class peaks above 8,000 meters. In addition to the highest peak in the world - Mount Everest at an altitude of 8848.86 meters, there are also the fourth highest peak in the world - Lhotse at an altitude of 8516 meters, the fifth highest peak in the world - Makalu at an altitude of 8463 meters, and the tenth highest peak in the world - —Cho Oyu at an altitude of 8,201 meters, and the fourteenth highest peak in the world—Shishapangma at an altitude of 8,027 meters. In addition, there are more than 40 peaks above 7,000 meters above sea level around Mount Everest. Surrounded by it, it is no wonder that Mount Everest is also called "the third pole of the earth".

Standing on the high plateau, in front of you is the tallest mountain group on the planet, which is higher than each other and higher than the sky. Just thinking about it makes people's blood boil. You see, the rolling snow line in the distance has already broken through the clouds and plunged straight into Xiaohan. Although the huge giant under the feet is 5,000 meters above sea level, compared with the group of "giants" in the sky, even with perspective The zoom is also dimmed for the humble foreground!

At the mountain pass, there are hunting wind horses, called "Longda" in Tibetan, which are colored flags printed with scriptures and tied on ropes in strings. Wherever the wind blows, the Buddha's voice will spread, bless all beings with peace and auspiciousness.

There are also Tibetan youths selling prayer flags on the viewing platform. For some money, they help tie them to the rope, which is regarded as buying a blessing. Two days ago, when I passed the Smila Pass, a Tibetan kid followed me and asked me to buy prayer flags. This time it was a young girl, Zangpu was sweet and even slightly coquettish, "Brother, your hat is so beautiful... Where did you come from... Brother, can you give me your hat... ...." The sound of "Brother" made my heart flutter, and the simple appearance showed a coquettish coquettish attitude. This kind of contrast really makes people feel crisp...I still haven't bought it! Maybe I don't understand sympathy and customs. I have visited countless temples and never kowtow or burn incense. I respect your culture, but I don't have your beliefs.

As for the tempting heartbeat, just like the fluttering flag, it is the wind and the sound; if the heart does not move, the wind will stop and the sound will disappear...

When driving to the tourist center, gasoline vehicles are not allowed to go forward, so you can only transfer to the electric bus in the scenic spot and travel dozens of kilometers to Rongbuk Temple.

Rongbuk Monastery belongs to the Nyingma Sect temple. It is named after the Rongbuk Glacier at the foot of Mount Everest. Rongbuk Monastery is only about 20 kilometers away from the top of Mount Everest, so it is the base camp for climbing Mount Everest from the north slope.

(The closed area is behind the iron gate in the picture below, and the road leads to the former Mount Everest Base Camp and the climbing road on the north slope of Mount Everest)

There is a small tent in front of Rongbuk Monastery. When you get closer, it turns out to be a post office. This may be the simplest post office in the world, but it must be the highest post office in the world. At the foot of Mount Everest, any building can apply for Guinness World Records.

Some people have high rebellion, take a photo on the bus, punch in a card, and then return by the next bus that takes half an hour. Stay overnight in a black tent, look at the starry sky, and go down the mountain the next day. I belong to the latter. As shown in the picture below, the conditions are such that the food is mediocre, the wind howls at night, and the tent is squeaked, making people worry about whether it will be uprooted. The last thing I want to happen is to go to the toilet and get cold.

Put your luggage away and let's meet the "Mother Earth".

July is the rainy season in the Mount Everest area, and the mountains are often surrounded by clouds and mist. Although Mount Everest is close in sight (about ten kilometers away), it seems to be far away in the sky—most of the mountains are covered by clouds, and the peak is only occasionally exposed. Such as fairy mountains.

There is a Mount Everest elevation measurement monument on the hillside for viewing, which is a sweet pastry for tourists to take pictures with. The altitude of 8848.86 meters and the title of "the third pole of the earth" are engraved on both sides of the stele. I have never taken selfies, but in the face of the cold and cold Mount Everest, how can I still stick to the habit of being cold and cold? Not only did I take pictures, but I also made my face beautiful!

More people took pictures one after another with different poses and different props. I understand very well that those who can stand here are worthy of the title of warriors, whether they are bragging or collecting.

Among the warriors, what I admire the most are the photographers who capture light and shadow. July is already midsummer, but on Mount Everest in July, the temperature is minus 10 degrees Celsius, and there is still a biting cold wind. Down jackets must be standard equipment, and I just didn’t bring a down jacket, so I took all the long clothes and johns I used for washing. I put on all of them, and I also wore two sets of coats, wrapping myself like a bun, so as to resist the cold. It is in this kind of cold that some photographers control three or four cameras and stay outside for several hours, just to capture a perfect photo of Mount Everest! So I want to say it again (I said it in the previous article): Some photos are not easy to be born, and the beauty is not as beautiful as it appears on the surface! But it is this kind of contrast and pain that makes photography pursue beauty more and more, even to the point of addiction.

Inspired by the "courage to love beauty", I also joined the "Photography Warriors Group". Although the "weapon" is simple and there is only one mobile phone, the spirit is commendable: I took pictures of Mount Everest at different times in the morning, noon, and evening ; Photographed Mount Everest from different angles at the end of the road, far away from the river, and above the mani pile; recorded the time-lapse of Mount Everest that was misty and misty (see above for the video)...

Even at night, at the risk of being eaten by snow leopards, I excitedly came to the hillside where I stayed during the day, wanting to see the Milky Way above Mount Everest. At this time I couldn’t see my fingers. Fortunately, I ran into a few friends who reminded me not to use the flashlight. They were photographing the starry sky. I found a stone reed, put an octopus on it, and pointed my phone at the night sky... This is the second time I have taken pictures of the starry sky after Namtso. I checked the method on the Internet, but the effect is still not ideal. But I could also vaguely see the mountains and the Milky Way. Later, I learned that the weather has a great impact on the shooting effect. If there are too many clouds, it is meaningless to adjust the parameters.

The starry sky that night was not clear, most of the time the sky was covered with clouds, and for a few tens of minutes, the clouds cleared and the fog cleared, and the Milky Way faintly appeared, and then became clearer, like brilliant sparks, tearing apart the dark curtain …

The surroundings are quiet, the wind seems to have stopped, and the only movement is the distant and faint flickering. I am facing Mount Everest, standing silently in the sea of billions of stars, my heart is no longer churning, and my skin is no longer shivering. Nether Profound Realm...

Until, a loud noise shocked me back to reality—"Go back quickly! Go back quickly! I checked my identity information!"

I was driven back to the tent by two "flashlights", but I couldn't calm down for a long time...

Early the next morning, the sky was blue, and Mount Everest finally revealed its entire body for a short time, holy and immaculate, majestic, mysterious and majestic...

On the way back by car, the rapids, starry sky, wind and clouds and peaks that I saw all day and night appeared in my mind.

The stars of the Milky Way burst through the stillness of the sky, and the turbulent water surges up from the sky.

Fengyunji will want to cover you, and show the world a Mount Everest!

Just after experiencing a spiritual climax, I ran into a small trouble on the mountain road back - the engine misfired, the car stopped moving, and it was cold for ten minutes after turning off the engine. I drove to the Tingri County Auto Repair Factory to check, but nothing was found. This is why. Later, the engine misfired occasionally, and the driving continued after the power was cut off and the record was cleared.

You must never have imagined that on the Tibetan plateau where the highest mountain on the earth is located, there is a beautiful town hidden in the south of the Yangtze River, with more exotic cultural customs. This is Geelong on the border between China and Nepal.

If you want to know how "Tibet Jiangnan" is, let's listen to the next chapter to break it down.
