On the last day of 2019, we flew to Tengchong, Yunnan to welcome 2020 here. This is a pure vacation trip, and there are almost no special attractions. I plan to stroll around leisurely every day, and I don’t even bring a camera.

Heshun Ancient Town

My impression of Tengchong comes from the geography class in elementary school. The 'Heihe-Tengchong line' is the dividing line of population density in our country, and it is also a famous hot spring town in our country.

Heshun Ancient Town is a national 4A-level scenic spot, surrounded by volcanoes, and has a suitable climate. The ancient town completely retains the characteristics of Chinese Ming and Qing culture, and is known as the living fossil of ancient Chinese architecture.

I don’t know what kind of pink tree it is, but it looks very gentle in a piece of green. Probably only in Yunnan, in the coldest season, you can still see such a spring-like scenery.

Walking on the stone road of the ancient town, there are all kinds of shops on both sides, and it does have the taste of an ancient town in the western border.

I don't know what this orange flower is, it's beautiful and festive,

Walk a few more steps casually, and it is another idyllic scenery,

The Wild Duck Lake in the ancient town is small and lively, you can walk slowly along the lake,

In the middle of the lake there is a white winding gravel beach, the design is quite delicate,

Looking at the Yeya Lake opposite from the homestay,

The homestay we live in is on the mountain, quiet amidst the hustle and bustle. The gate of the homestay has a strong Arabian style, which made me fall in love with it at a glance. I stayed here for 3 nights.

I remember that on the night when we arrived on the 31st, the hotel specially prepared supper, dumplings and chicken soup for us for free. It is a very warm and exquisite shop.

Ruili, Mangshi

Ruili is the largest port in Southwest China, famous for its jadeite jewellery. I wanted to take this opportunity to see this mysterious southwestern border town, so I booked a day trip to Ruili, Mangshi on Ctrip.

Passing the Longjiang Bridge on the road, the bridge is surrounded by clouds and mist.

Menghuan Shwedagon Pagoda in Mangshi is the first golden pagoda in China and the first hollow pagoda in Asia. It is a landmark building in Mangshi and a holy place in the eyes of the local people.

The sign at the door says to walk around the Shwedagon Pagoda three times, which means "consummation". We also do as the Romans do, hoping it will bring us good luck.

Ruili Jiegao Port, it is the largest port on the China-Myanmar border, passing through it is Myanmar,

"One village and two countries" is a Dai village, which is divided into two by the China-Myanmar border crossing. The Chinese side is called Yinjing, and the Myanmar side is called Mangxiu. The famous China-Myanmar Boundary Pillar No. 71 is next to the village. It is said that the villagers here have the same customs and languages. This seemingly thin, light green national border is paved with 5068 jade stones. The yellow side is China, and the white side is Myanmar. You can 'go abroad' at will.

Atami

Tengchong is the most famous geothermal scenic spot in China, and Rehai is the most famous one.

As soon as you enter the park, you can smell a strong smell of sulfur, and you can see smoking springs everywhere.

The hot sea boiling pot has a diameter of more than 3 meters, a water depth of 1.5 meters, and a water temperature of 97 degrees.

I bought a pack of eggs, wrapped in grass outside, 4 pieces, a total of 15 yuan. You need to pry up the lid of the big pot by yourself, put the eggs in, and it will be steamed in about 20 minutes. The eggs are tender and hot, and the taste is not bad.

We stayed in the hotel in Hot Sea Scenic Area. You can soak in the hot spring in the hotel room, which is very comfortable, but the price is not cheap.

Dalongjing Ancient Town

Dalongjing Ancient Town does not seem to be a scenic spot. My mother’s friend bought a house near here, so she wanted to come and see it. It seems that many people have come to Tengchong to invest and buy houses in the past two years. There are not many tourists here, but the proprietress of the homestay said that it is also full during the Spring Festival.

It is relatively close to the Volcanic Geopark and the Beihai Wetland. I originally wanted to take a hot air balloon ride, but unfortunately the rain has been pouring down, so I didn't make it. Although Tengchong looks like a spring, it is really cold when it rains, so I read a book in the hotel and spent a leisurely day.

Tengchong does not have too many scenic spots that amazed me. I missed the beautiful ginkgo season and did not take a hot air balloon, but I like the scenery of Tengchong, which is still full of spring in the cold winter, and the leisurely vacation time these days. Not long after returning to Shanghai, the whole country and the world fell into a huge crisis of new crown pneumonia, and tourism was hit hard. It is a pity for those of us who like to travel. I hope that winter will pass soon and spring will come soon, so that we can embark on a new journey.

Where is the next stop?
