tell me about this trip

Is there a place that makes you miss day and night?

Is there a place that makes you desperately want to reach it?

Is there a place that makes you want to go again and again?

If you ask me, I will tell you Xinjiang without hesitation.

If you don't go to Xinjiang, you don't know how big China is.

If you don't go to Xinjiang, you don't know the beauty of China.

Grasslands, canyons, Gobi, lakes, snow-capped mountains... The vast Xinjiang presents all the beauties of the world here.

Many people say that when you travel to Xinjiang, you can see the natural scenery in northern Xinjiang and the cultural customs in southern Xinjiang. Speaking of autumn in Xinjiang, many people always think of the Kanasna River in northern Xinjiang turning from green to blue. Autumn in northern Xinjiang is a colorful picture. But if you have been to southern Xinjiang in autumn, you will find that the beauty of southern Xinjiang is even more dreamy, and it looks like heaven inadvertently.

Due to various reasons this year, there was no stop in southern Xinjiang in the itinerary plan. While chatting with friends about other itineraries, she and a few friends planned to go to southern Xinjiang together, and asked me if I wanted to go together, which happened to be empty at that time. Although I have been to Xinjiang several times, I have never set foot in the land of southern Xinjiang. It is also the place I have always wanted to go, so it took less than ten minutes from deciding to go to southern Xinjiang to buying a ticket. It was really a trip to southern Xinjiang.

This trip to southern Xinjiang can be regarded as a series of twists and turns~

But in the Pamirs, I had a dream of plateau snow-capped mountains. I met the most beautiful autumn in Taheman Township. I saw the vastness of the Taklimakan Desert. I saw the most beautiful sunset in the desert. Canyons, stone forest landforms...everything I met here is the best memory of this trip to southern Xinjiang!

Let me tell you slowly about the roads I have traveled in southern Xinjiang this time, from surprise to excitement.

Harvest a dream of plateau snow-capped mountains in the Pamirs

Meet the most beautiful golden tunnel in Taheman Township

In the night filled with fireworks at Hotan Night Market, feel the real taste of Xinjiang

Witness the mutual waiting between Populus euphratica and the desert in the vast Taklamakan Desert

Watched the most beautiful sunset in the Taklamakan Desert

Mysterious Tianshan Grand Canyon

Walking into this stone forest landform is like walking into a foreign planet

Populus euphratica forest in Tarim is a fairy tale world in golden autumn

The encounter on the road is the biggest surprise of travel

We chose to start our southern Xinjiang trip in Kashgar, and we also made an appointment to meet up with friends in Kashgar. I flew directly to Kashgar (transiting in Urumqi) from Guangzhou.

In my memory, southern Xinjiang is mainly about feeling the humanities and customs. I never thought that its natural scenery is so majestic and majestic. When I was on the flight from Urumqi to Kashgar, I was deeply shocked by the plateau snow-capped mountains outside the window! At that moment, before I had time to feel the cultural customs of southern Xinjiang, my memory was reversed by the natural scenery of the plateau!

I remember that day when I sent these photos taken with my mobile phone through the window glass to my circle of friends, I amazed many of my friends. They didn’t believe that it was taken by the mobile phone on the plane, and thought it was a photo taken by a drone ( I said it was indeed aerial photography, just sitting on the plane hahaha)

Looking at the rolling snow-capped mountains outside the window, the undulating hills, the clear texture of the valleys, and the floating clouds unfold in front of you like a magnificent picture scroll of mountains. I couldn't help saying, "Oh my god, what kind of fairy place is this! It's so beautiful!"

Even though I have seen the plateau snow-capped mountains many times. At that moment, I was still amazed by it, and I really forgot that I saw the picture on the plane, like breaking into a fairyland that no one has ever set foot in, the dream is a bit unreal.

I was awakened from this dream by the report that the flight attendant was about to land at Kashgar Airport. It turned out that this is the beautiful Xinjiang that I wanted to come to! Doesn't the stunning scenery outside the window justify the phrase "If you don't go to Xinjiang, you don't know the beauty of China"? The mountains and rivers in Xinjiang are vast and magnificent, whether you are here for the first time or you have been here many times, you will find it so charming!

The Pamir Plateau in autumn is a dreamland of sparkling snow mountains

If you don't go to Kashgar, you don't count as Xinjiang, and if you don't go to the ancient city, you don't count as Kashgar. I came to Kashgar, but unfortunately I haven't been able to visit the ancient city. After a quick night in Kashgar, I have no memory of the ancient city of Kashgar in my mind.

Our southern Xinjiang itinerary plan is to start the next day after landing in Kashgar, and stay for two more days to visit the ancient city when we return to Kashgar. But the plan could not keep up with the changes, and the following reasons forced us to change our final return to Kashgar, so my impression of the ancient city of Kashgar was blank, and because of this, the ancient city of Kashgar left a mark on my trip to southern Xinjiang. Pity. However, if there is a regret, there will be a reason to start again. I will definitely come back to Kashgar, and I will definitely save more time to take a good look at the ancient city.

Then this time there is no cultural customs about the ancient city of Kashgar, so I will show you the beautiful natural scenery of southern Xinjiang!

If the beauty of northern Xinjiang is in Kanas, then the beauty of southern Xinjiang is in the Pamirs.

The Pamir Plateau, located at the westernmost end of China's territory, is a beautiful plateau known as the roof of the world. Here is the purest nature, the cleanest sky, the clearest lake, the most primitive grassland and the most simple residents. It was a necessary place on the ancient Silk Road. Now it is the Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County. The residents are mainly Tajik. The altitude here is high and the air is thin.

On the road from Kashgar to Taxkorgan, there are charming scenery everywhere. After entering the Pamirs, you will see the confluence of mountains, the peaks, the Himalayas, the Tianshan Mountains, the Kunlun Mountains, the Karakoram Mountains...all of which will fully show its majestic beauty.

Baisha Lake is located between Kashgar and Taxkorgan Autonomous County, next to National Highway 314. When we set foot on the Karakoram Highway from Kashgar, we felt that we had stepped on a magical road. After traveling westward for more than 150 kilometers, we arrived at the long-heard Baisha Lake, which was also the first lake we encountered in the Pamirs.

Due to the long-term erosion of the plateau wind and sand, the mountains around the sand lake have been weathered into off-white sand, forming sand mountains. Half of the white sand and half of the lake is named because of the white sand, and it is also beautiful because of the white sand.

If you want to see the pure Baisha Lake, you must have good weather. When we went there, it was cloudy and the wind was particularly strong. The Baisha Lake we saw was not as amazing as we imagined. To be honest, I was a little disappointed at that moment with the gray white sand mountain and the gloomy lake water. But ah, there will always be unsatisfactory things during the journey. Not every time you can get what you want. The scenery you have seen, whether good or bad, is the road you have walked.

Maybe God didn't want us to be disappointed. When we returned the next day, we met a sunny day and saw a different Baisha Lake. The lake water changes different colors under the sun, light blue, blue, light green, emerald green... No matter how the color changes, it is as beautiful as a gemstone. At that moment, you will still be amazed. It turns out that Baisha Lake in different weathers has it. different look.

Looking at the Baisha Mountain in front of me, the pure blue lake water, and the snow-capped mountains clearly visible through the clouds, I fell in love with the Baisha Lake at that moment.

Continuing along the China-Pakistan Highway, what appeared in front of us was a majestic snow-capped mountain. The driver Tao brother said that this is Muztagh Peak. There is a lake under the mountain called Karakul Lake. They have been watching each other. each other for many years.

Muztag Peak is located at the junction of Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County and Akto County, with an altitude of 7,509 meters. It stands tall with Gongger Peak and Gongger Jiubie Peak. It stands on the beautiful Pamirs. The most stunning scenery on the Pamirs.

It is said that there is a beautiful legend about this majestic Muztagh Peak, "It is said that a long time ago, a fairy girl passed by here and fell in love with a Tajik young man, but was firmly opposed by the gods. The fairy girl was so sad that she died. Here, her tears turned into a thousand-bladed ice peak, dripping onto Karakul Lake, and her white hair turned into a huge glacier. Therefore, the pure Muztag is also regarded as a symbol of pure love.

When the plateau snow-capped mountains meet the golden autumn and October, it is the most beautiful season in the Pamirs. Under the blue sky and white clouds, Muztag looks particularly dazzling with its silver snow top. Karakul Lake, located at the foot of Muztagh Peak, is not a very big lake surrounded by ice peaks and snow ridges, adding a magical and charming color.

For thousands of years, Karakul Lake has been lying beside Muztagh Peak, relying on each other to stand between this vast world without any disturbance. Looking at the quiet snow-capped mountains and lakes in front of you, you seem to be listening to them telling moving legends one after another on the Pamirs.

I was lucky to be blessed by God and encountered the sunny Pamirs. I heard from Brother Tao that it hadn’t snowed and the weather was not good when he passed by a few days ago. We were so lucky to meet Karakuri Lake under the blue sky and white clouds. The lake water is as clean as a mirror, reflecting the snow-capped peaks. The lakes and mountains are integrated into one, and the picturesque and poetic are fascinating. At that moment, any words seem pale and powerless.

The car continued to move forward, driving on the endless China-Pakistan Highway, and instantly felt like entering a world of ice and snow fairy tales, snow-capped grasslands, mountains, lakes... Looking at the world outside the window, we couldn't help getting out of the car and playing on the snow. It all looks a little unreal.

Driving on the Pamirs, the happiest thing is to see the beautiful scenery along the way. Sunshine and snow mountains, blue and white are the most beautiful colors along the way.

Meeting the Pamirs at sunset, the sky changed to another color, and the snow-capped mountains became particularly gentle. I witnessed the beauty of the snow-capped peaks under the setting sun. The sunset Jinshan, which is rare to see elsewhere, can be seen here for real. Seeing such natural beauty, the impetuous heart calms down!

On the way back the next day, I met another lake, which was calm like a huge mirror under the snow-capped mountains. The blue sky, white clouds, and snow-capped mountains are reflected in the lake. The feeling at that moment is really amazing. How can there be so many beautiful places in the world!

Every time I see a snow-capped mountain, I feel like I have never seen a snow-capped mountain, full of surprises.

Another day healed by the dream of snow mountains, plateaus, snow mountains, lakes, and favorite things are all here.

If you can, just "wandering mountains and rivers" like this!

【Small tips】

1. To enter Taxkorgan, you need to apply for a border defense certificate. You can apply for it at the Kashgar International Self-Driving and RV Center. You only need to provide your ID card, and the fee is free.

2. No matter what season you go to the plateau area, you must bring a jacket or a thick coat, as some places are particularly windy.

Taheman Township, meet the most beautiful autumn appearance

Taheman Township is located 32 kilometers north of the county seat of Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County, at the foot of Muztagh Peak, the roof of the world. Taheman Township is also one of the largest Tajik villages in Taxian County. There is the famous Taheman Wetland, which not only breeds fertile black soil, but also produces the famous Pamirs cattle and sheep.

In Taheman Township, there is a little-known country road. In autumn, the leaves on the roadside are all yellow, and the leaves are densely crossed, covering the entire road, which is very spectacular.

When I came here, I was instantly shocked by the golden yellow in front of me. Who sprinkled the autumn colors here?

The country road with no end in sight at a glance is full of golden yellow. Being here is like walking through a "golden tunnel", which is very happy, and at the end of the tunnel, I think it looks like a paradise!

Walking in the "Golden Tunnel", coming here from the noisy city, seems to have entered a fairyland in a fairy tale, looking at the golden leaves under the sunlight, following the direction of the wind, every inch of the air is filled with the breath of autumn.

I think I like autumn the most, it is the season of harvest, it is sad but romantic and rich, it is quiet but colorful... the autumn wind blows lightly, it is a kind of cool comfort, the leaves falling in the ears , is a silent movement, playing the track of changing seasons, all of which are the best of autumn.

The autumn in southern Xinjiang is so wanton and strong, it is just like splashing ink, and the golden yellow in large areas satisfies your beautiful imagination of autumn.

The Taheman Wetland is surrounded by mountains on all sides, and the terrain is low. Countless mountain springs gather here, forming the largest grassland base in Taxkorgan, and it is also a high-quality pasture for the herdsmen in Taheman Township. Next to this country road is a large pasture. Seeing the herders grazing sheep, we couldn't help but go to play with the sheep.

I once dreamed that I had a pasture at the foot of the snow-capped mountains, a vast prairie, facing the snow-capped mountains every day, and being company with sheep, living a "fairy life" that doesn't care about the world.

But the dream is always a dream, I don't know when it will come true in me? However, it is also possible to live an addiction in someone else's ideal life for a dream that has not been realized by oneself!

Too longing for the pasture life under the snow-capped mountains, awakened by the sound of sheep, and fell asleep with the galaxy. Coming here, looking at the looming snow-capped mountains, the dogs sticking to the side, the flocks of cattle and sheep, and the golden trees, it is like being in a fairy tale fairyland. Watching all this, all bad emotions will be healed in an instant. These scenes that appeared in dreams accidentally came true in Taheman Township!

【Small tips】

This is a country road. Although there are not many people, there will be vehicles passing by. When taking pictures, remember to pay attention to safety.

In addition to this tunnel with no end in sight, there is also a tunnel next to which no vehicles pass through at all. Here you can take pictures at will without affecting the passage of vehicles, and you can also take photos you like.

Feel the taste of Xinjiang at Hotan Night Market

The night of a city belongs to the night market. Under the flickering lights, there are surging crowds, a dazzling array of goods, endless food stalls, full of fireworks, and all the flavors of life are in it.

It seems that every city has such a night market. When night falls, the lights are blooming. Tourists from all over the world gradually gather in the dimly lit night market, making it extremely lively, and Nahotan is no exception.

Hotan is located at the southernmost tip of Xinjiang. As we all know, Hotan is the place where jade is produced. In Hotan, jade can be seen everywhere. It was the first time we came to Hotan, which is famous for its jade. As foodies, we were not shocked by the beautiful jade here, but were conquered by the variety of delicacies here. In the eyes of foodies, no beautiful jade is as delicious as food!

For a foodie, Hotan Night Market is simply a gourmet paradise. An indoor promenade, with stalls of different sizes on both sides, brings together various delicacies and snacks in Xinjiang. The attractive color of the barbecue makes many tourists stay here. The fresh beef and mutton are served with various sauces, which can not satisfy the taste buds. Roast mutton, roast pigeon... all kinds of barbecue, with unique taste.

There is also the steaming mutton belly, which is another world after being cut open. It is really a treasure. Although many people are not used to the smell of mutton, to be honest, this tastes delicious. If you come, remember to taste it too.

Pepper chicken, baked eggs, fried rice noodles, baked buns, spicy lamb hooves, baked naan and other snacks will dazzle you. You want to eat everything you see, but you only hate that your stomach is too small.

In the Hotan Ye Night Market, in addition to being able to feast on the food, various Xinjiang folk song and dance performances will make your eyes stop. It can not only satisfy your taste buds, but also let you feel the ethnic customs of Xinjiang.

If you come to Hotan, remember to come to Hotan Night Market to experience the warm human fireworks and the taste of Xinjiang here!

Taklamakan Desert, satisfy your beautiful imagination of the desert

I have always heard that when traveling in Xinjiang, these road trips must be recommended~

"The Duku Highway passing through the north and south of the Tianshan Mountains,

Galloping the Karakoram Highway in the Pamirs,

The Yizhao Highway that crosses the romantic sea of flowers,

Crossing the Taklimakan Desert Highway in the Sea of Death",

Fortunately, this trip to southern Xinjiang took both the Karakoram Highway and the Desert Highway once.

Starting from Hotan to Alar, you need to cross hundreds of kilometers of the Taklamakan Desert Highway. Driving on this vast desert highway, the front of the road is still the road, and the end of the desert is still the desert...

When crossing this desert road, the biggest surprise for us is undoubtedly the Taklamakan Desert.

The Taklimakan Desert is the largest desert in China and the second largest mobile desert in the world. Frequent wind and sand activities, peculiar dune shape, so it is also called "Sea of Death", and it is also the most mysterious desert. In addition to the yellow sand all over the sky, there are Populus euphratica forest and strange willow shrubs. In autumn, the colors of Populus euphratica forest and yellow sand form a flowing painting.

As the car moved forward, I felt that I had entered the depths of the desert, and there was a vast desert around me. We found a viewing spot where we could park, and couldn't help but walk into the desert, walk in the desert, and leave rows of footprints on the rolling sand dunes. Overhead is the endless blue sky, and the Populus euphratica in the distance is shaking its golden leaves, and the colors of autumn are everywhere. In this endless desert, you can feel the magic of nature, your own insignificance and the freedom to relax.

In the Taklamakan Desert, Populus euphratica and the desert are waiting for each other. In the golden autumn and October, Populus euphratica has faded from its greenness and displayed a golden color. The golden Populus euphratica dotted among them, coupled with the undulating sand dune lines of the desert, is a beautiful landscape no matter when you look at it.

The Taklamakan Desert at sunset is the brightest moment of the day. Under the afterglow of the setting sun, all kinds of amorous feelings of the desert are drawn between the sky and the earth. I fell in love with the sunset at this moment.

Watching the sun set and disappear from the sand hills in the west, the Populus euphratica in front of you and the undulating sand dunes in the distance form a quiet picture.

The setting sun is really suitable for taking silhouettes. Under the guidance of Brother Tao's various actions, we finally took some photos we particularly liked. I remember that some of us were very impatient and said that this and that movement were not good, hahaha~ But after the shooting, everyone really liked it. Thank you Brother Tao for helping us harvest a group of beautiful sunset photos.

I think those lovely people who walked through the desert together and watched the sunset will remember it forever!

The desert is desolate, but the Taklamakan Desert is not desolate with the company of Populus euphratica.

Populus euphratica in the desert told me that desolation cannot stop hope, and so is life.

The vast desert reminds me of my insignificance, the road is still long, and I will take it step by step.

【Small tips】

1. The desert area is dry, and the ultraviolet radiation is large, so moisturize and protect against the sun.

2. There is no accommodation on the desert road, and it takes a day to walk or camp.

3. Check whether your fuel tank is full before departure, and remember to fill it up before starting.

4. Be sure to pay attention to safety when walking into the desert.

5. The desert at sunset is particularly beautiful, you can take some silhouettes in various poses.

Beyond the mysterious Grand Canyon of the Tianshan Mountains is another exotic planet

In the depths of the Tianshan Mountains in Kuqa, Xinjiang, there is a mysterious Grand Canyon. The mountain looks like a flaming mountain, making the whole canyon full of magic. This is the Tianshan Mysterious Grand Canyon.

Tianshan Mysterious Grand Canyon is located about 70 kilometers north of Kuqa County, Aksu. It is one of the ten most beautiful canyons in China and is listed as a national geological park. The mysterious Grand Canyon is composed of reddish-brown mountains, which the locals call Kyzilia (Uyghur, meaning "red cliff"). It was formed by hundreds of millions of years of wind and rain erosion and mountain torrent erosion. It is a rare natural landscape wonder. The entire canyon is majestic, dangerous, secluded, quiet, and divine. The mountains are in various poses and with different expressions. Only by being on the scene can you feel its mystery and magnificence.

Entering the canyon, looking up from the bottom of the canyon, the huge mountain body pierces into the sky. Against the backdrop of the blue sky, the mountains are full of red and the peaks are all dyed. Looking at these steep peaks, you will be shocked by the uncanny craftsmanship of nature. . This is hundreds of millions of years of wind and rain etching to create such an amazing picture.

In the Grand Canyon, the sun refracts into the bottom of the valley through the gaps in the rock formations, and the light changes every minute. Where the sun does not shine, those reds no longer jump out, and are a bit dark. Therefore, the best time to take pictures in the bottom of the canyon is when the sun appears. The sun falls from the bottom of the canyon into the canyon, and the sun hits the canyon wall. The red color of the canyon wall is illuminated more vividly. The photos you take will look better.

The magical Tianshan Grand Canyon is indeed worth a visit, but there were so many people when we went there, it was difficult to avoid the crowd if we found a good angle and wanted to take a few photos. Later, after discussing with our friends, we decided not to go inside up. Because we found a large stone forest on the way from Kuqa, we decided to go back there to take pictures.

Starting from Kuqa, you will enter the stone forest canyon landform tens of kilometers away. Walking through here is like entering a foreign planet. Due to geological processes such as crustal movement and wind and rain erosion, various stone forest landform wonders have been formed.

When we got here, there was no one else but us, there are parking spots and paths to climb to the top. Standing on the top of the deserted one, looking around, all kinds of strange stone forests spread all over the hillside. The light in the evening hits the texture of the stone forest, and it changes wonderfully every second. The whole Qilin is like a huge art treasure house. At that moment, you will be deeply impressed by the magic of nature. A born artist!

When you really appreciate the vastness of mountains and rivers, you will feel that the world is worth it!

【Small tips】

1. The Tianshan Mysterious Grand Canyon is now free of tickets, and you can enter by scanning the small program of the scenic spot at the entrance of the scenic spot.

2. The temperature in Xinjiang in October has begun to drop, and the temperature is high in the morning and evening. Entering the Grand Canyon, the air outlet is extremely windy and extremely cold, so keep warm.

3. Many types of clothes are suitable for the Grand Canyon, and elegant skirts and cool work clothes will be more popular.

transportation

Self-driving is the most common way to travel in Xinjiang. If you don’t want to be too tired by self-driving, chartering a car with a few friends is the best choice. In Xinjiang, which has a vast territory, the distance between each destination is not ordinary, and the road is full of scenery. If you drive or charter a car, you can play while walking without being controlled by time, so you can have more fun.

Generally, the price of a chartered car in Xinjiang is based on the number of days of the trip and the type of car required, and the price will also fluctuate (you can communicate with the driver according to your own itinerary)
