We took off from Pudong Airport and arrived in Liping, Guizhou two hours later. One hour later, we will arrive at Zhaoxing Dong Village. After entering the stockade, it takes less than ten minutes to walk to the inn. The four small words "I'm waiting for you" under the plaque make people feel the sincerity of the owner. This is a three-story wooden structure on stilts. The first floor is the lobby, which also looks like a tea room or coffee shop. The second and third floors are guest rooms.
Zhaoxing Dong Village is located on the southeastern edge of Guizhou, at the junction of Hunan, Guizhou and Guangxi provinces (regions). She is one of the largest Dong villages in the country. The stockade is built in a long and narrow valley from east to west, consisting of a main street and a side street along the river.
There is a wind and rain bridge across the river. The promenade-style wind and rain bridge, the bridge house that can shelter from the wind and rain, the houses in the village are row upon row of stilted wooden structures with stilts, patchwork, simple and practical stilted buildings with small green tiles on the roof.
There are five wind and rain bridges, five drum towers and five stages in the whole village, row upon row of Diaojiaolou, Geping and Fengyu Bridge. The long Dong cloth on the verandah allows you to feel the industrious and simple life of the Dong people up close, as if returning to the simplicity. Ancient simplicity is an important resource for modern tourism. Zhaoxing Dong Village is most famous for the Drum Tower Group, so it is called the hometown of Drum Tower Culture and Art.
At 4:30 p.m., there will be a performance of Dong folk songs on the stage next to the Yituan Drum Tower. The Dong nationality is a nation that can sing and be good at noon. The big song of the Dong nationality is a multi-part, unaccompanied, and unconducted chorus form. The singing is very harmonious and distinctive, and very pleasant.
Go out for a walk after dinner, the Drum Tower and Fengyu Bridge under the lights are even more beautiful! When I woke up in the middle of the night, I could only hear the patter of rain outside the house, and the gurgling of running water. From the bustling and noisy city to the remote and quiet mountain, I really feel nostalgic in my dream at this time.
Zhaoxing is a place worth visiting slowly. She is one of the six most beautiful ancient rural towns in China. There will always be unexpected surprises during the stop and go. Walking on the main street of Zhaoxing Dong Village, I saw tourists in twos and threes, looking very leisurely. Instead, I found that the front of every household, along the banks of the river, and on the wind and rain bridge are all covered with purple and black radiant Dong cloth, which is another unique landscape of the Dong village.
Along the way, I saw women in Dong costumes beating cloth with wooden mallets at the doorways of several houses, making rhythmic noises. The cloth making process is said to be very complicated and lengthy. After the cloth is woven, it is dyed with plants, dyed once and hammered once, and after many times of dyeing and hammering, it is made into Dong cloth. This kind of primitive and simple craftsmanship seems to be in great contrast with modern textiles, but it has become an object sought after by urbanites.
