5DAY I was planning to go home on Sunday, but a friend in Huai’an has been asking me to go for the past few days and bring me some special products, but the hospitality was hard to come by, but I turned west for more than an hour, and when I arrived in Huai’an, he even treated me to a meal. I drank a few more glasses in between, and the direction of the drink was reversed, and I started a cultural journey in Shanxi.
Arrived in Datong in the afternoon, rested at the inn for a while and played on the city wall at 6 o'clock in the evening. The lights in the ancient city were turned on after 7:00, watching the night view in the city, and heading towards the destination "Drum Tower Knife-sliced Noodles". How can you come to Shanxi without eating Knife-sliced Noodles? Let a good meal end the day's trip! This Gulou knife-sliced noodles is easy to find in Gulou. It is an online celebrity check-in shop. I ate here last time, and it was not bad. I chose this place this time. Gulou is considered the center of the ancient city, and it is a good place for shopping.
6DAY: Depart in the morning and arrive at Yungang Grottoes by car for tens of minutes. This time I mainly took Xiaodou to listen to the explanation and bought an audio explanation. Xiaodou didn't understand and was not very interested in listening, but felt that the moment of playing in the water was the happiest (heartbroken). After leaving the grottoes, we came to the Datong Coal Museum. The two are very close. There is a "Buddha Tower" on the hill behind the museum, where you can see the whole picture of Yungang Grottoes.
I took Xiaodou to learn about the formation process of coal in the museum. She was very interested, and I was also an eye-opener. I didn't expect coal to be so particular. You can also experience the mine. We went there later and it was closed.
7DAY: Depart from the ancient city of Datong, and go to Yingxian Wooden Pagoda to check in at noon and take a rest. [Ying County Wooden Pagoda (Shakya Pagoda) is the oldest and largest wooden pagoda in Chinese history, and it is also known as the three most famous pagodas in the world together with the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Eiffel Tower]. Arrive at Taiyuan Jinci Temple at 4:00 pm. There are too many stories here, so you can ask a tour guide to explain them. There are old and young people in our line who don’t want to walk too fast, so we just play while walking. There are too many guides, and we can listen to them wherever we go haha, I understand. With a lot of knowledge, I wandered around the Jinci Museum for a few hours, and it was almost dark when I left. Not to mention the culture, the design of the Jinci Museum alone is amazing. It is really exquisite, which shows the hard work of several generations.
I stayed at the Coconut Crystal Hotel (Jinci Park Branch) at night. The reason for choosing this place is that it is close. It is only ten minutes’ drive from Jinci and Mengshan scenic spots.
8DAY: I got up early in the morning and went to Mengshan Scenic Area to climb the mountain by myself. I saw the face of the Great Buddha. I went down the mountain after 10 o'clock and had finished breakfast with soy milk and red beans. I watched TV at the hotel. I ate bucket noodles and went straight to Qiao's compound. Today It was too hot in the summer, and Xiaodou, who was in Qiao's courtyard, didn't want to go shopping. We had to hang out in the back garden to cool off. Let's think of it as a park. Sitting in the small pavilion is also very comfortable. It's too hot to stay here, go to Pingyao Inn to rest, and visit the ancient city at night.
9DAY: Depart from the ancient city of Pingyao in the morning and go to the Wang Family Courtyard. This family is really too big, with a longer history than the Qiao Family Courtyard, and it is also bigger. When I got to the parking lot, I glanced at my phone, "Notification: I will have a meeting at 9 am tomorrow, and I received a reply." . . . . . Looking at the time, it may be late, but I have to go back to work, let's go back to Langfang tomorrow. That is, this WeChat message announced the end of this root-seeking trip, and I can go back to the ancient city of Pingyao in the evening (I didn’t visit the scenic spots in Pingyao, see another article for the picture).
