February 17th is a memorable day. It has been 40 years since the self-defense counterattack against Vietnam. Recalling that during the National Day of 2016, I came to the main peak of Laoshan, the famous battlefield at that time, and walked into the trenches of that year. I was really moved.

In that war, Laoshan was a very representative coordinate mountain, because the impact of the battle there was too great. Therefore, when I plan to travel by car to Wenshan, Yunnan, Malipo, Laoshan, and Tianbao Port are must-see places. But why didn’t I write it until now? First, I didn’t have time to write out the 7-day itinerary. Second, I couldn’t find the photos taken by the camera at that time. Now I can only write photos that can only be taken with mobile phones. Most of them take selfies on mobile phones. So some live photos can only be used with me in it.

Laoshan was the main battlefield famous at home and abroad in those days, and many battles took place. Laoshan is located in Tianbao Town, Malipo County, Wenshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is a mountain on the border with Vietnam. It covers an area of ​​about 8 square kilometers. During the ten-year war, the soldiers in the front fought bloody battles, defended the dignity of the motherland, and created the past that inspired the people of the whole country. "Hard work, selfless dedication" is the core spirit of Laoshan. Now, Laoshan has become an important base for people from all walks of life to receive patriotic education. In 1996, Laoshan Scenic Area was established.


Drive to the foot of the old mountain, because there are many people who come to visit, waiting in line to go up the mountain. I saw a blue sign standing next to it, which read: "Go to the Holy Land of Laoshan, Recalling the Feelings of Heroes".

Before the car enters the gate of Laoshan, you have to check it. You can see the big sign of "Heroes on the Frontier" inside the gate.

A large number of landmines were laid in Laoshan back then, and the specific number cannot be counted. There are too many types of mines. Some people say that this place is simply a "landmine expo", so you can see signs like "Minefield", so don't mess around when you go in. Walk.

The main peak of Laoshan is 1,422 meters above sea level. There is a statue of "battle hero" Zhang Daquan standing here. Martyr Zhang Daquan is a symbolic figure in recovering Laoshan.

The trench is not wide

The trenches are connected to the mountain, they are very long, some are in the open air, and some are dug in caves.

In the trenches, the cat's ear hole is still preserved. "Cat's ear hole" refers to a kind of air-raid shelter and anti-blasting hole that is similar in shape to a cat's ear. It is a common simple fortification in the Laoshan battlefield. In front of the cave, there are photos taken that year, as well as poems.

Cat ear holes are only a few square meters in size, and only about one square meter in size. Many holes can only be crawled in. If the body is too big, it is difficult to climb in. After finally getting in, I could only sit or squat, and couldn't stand at all. Even when lying down, keep your legs curled up. The cat's ear hole is stuffy, humid, and waterlogged. Many soldiers were unable to wear long trousers back then, and their crotch was rotten. really hard

In order to protect the border security of the motherland and maintain the dignity of the country, in early April 1984, the Chinese army fought the famous Laoshan Battle against the invaders here. By May 15, the entire territory of the Laoshan area was recovered.
