Yuanmou soil forest is the collective name of Chuxiong soil forest, usually referring to Yuanmou Wumao soil forest. Luliang Colored Sand Forest is located 18 kilometers southeast of Luliang County, Qujing City. It is a scenic spot with natural sand pillars and sand peaks as its main attractions. The sand forest is formed due to weathering and erosion, and it is in the shape of mountains and peaks; because of its main colors of red, yellow, and white, mixed with blue, blue, black, and gray, and with different seasons, climates, sunshine, and viewing angles , producing brilliant and colorful tones, hence the name Colored Sand Forest, which is a famous geological tourism landscape. Its unique geographical structure has formed a colorful and varied dream world after thousands of years of wind and rain. The colorful sand forest is formed by the weathering of sandstone containing minerals. If you look carefully, you will find that the sand forest changes in different shades of red, white, yellow, gray, and black with the sunlight. If you take pictures, the effect will change endlessly . Especially in the evening, the layering of the sand forest under the setting sun is more obvious and rich.

1. Yuanmou soil forest and Luliang colored sand forest are located in two different directions of Kunming. Yuanmou Earth Forest is about 220 kilometers away from Kunming; Luliang Colored Sand Forest is about 130 kilometers away from Kunming.

2. The two scenic spots are not too far from the city, and there are not many places to climb up and down during the tour. The walking intensity is not strong, which is suitable for most people. It's just that public transportation is still not very convenient, so it's better to travel by car. There is a large parking lot in the scenic area, which is convenient for parking.

3. The weather conditions are very important, especially the colorful sand forest in Luliang. If it is rainy, the landscape will be greatly reduced.

4. Yuanmou Earth Forest is located in Yuanmou County, Chuxiong Prefecture, 32 kilometers away from the county seat. This is a paradise for photographers and one of the popular film and television bases. If you start from Kunming by car, you can arrive in about 3 hours.

5. To visit Yuanmou Earth Forest, you can take the battery car in the scenic area to the viewing platform on the top of the mountain, and then walk down the winding stone ladder and path. There are earth forest landscapes along the road, and you can touch the earth forest at zero distance. Watching while walking, you will get to the exit of the scenic spot slowly, so the tour will be easier.

6. The colorful sand forest is located in Luliang County, Qujing City, and it can be reached within 2 hours by car from Kunming. If you stop by Lunan Stone Forest after visiting Lunan, it will only take more than half an hour. It is not as famous as Lunan Stone Forest, and there are relatively few tourists, so it is a place where you can enjoy the scenery quietly.

7. The colorful sand forest scenic area has carried out large-scale infrastructure construction in recent years, and the tourist facilities have been perfected day by day.

8. The sand sculpture area of the colorful sand forest holds an international sand sculpture competition every year, and there are some excellent works left over from the competition held in that year. Various sand sculpture works are kept in nature, which makes the scenic spot present a landscape combining nature and humanities, and enriches the perception of the scenic spot.
