I have always felt that Xinjiang is a mysterious and romantic place. This time, taking advantage of the rare holiday, I simply came to Xinjiang for a free trip. Depart from Beijing by train, along the Silk Road all the way to Urumqi, to Kanas, to Kashgar... you can have a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery along the way.
After witnessing the modern prosperity of Urumqi, the countless romances of Kanas, and the warm and exotic style of Kashgar, I stooped to my next destination. This time, I will meet the holy place in my heart——Aksu.
Aksu is a prefecture-level city in Xinjiang. There are not only the well-known red Fuji apples with rock sugar hearts, Aksu red dates with thin skin and thick flesh, and sweet Kuqa apricots, but also majestic natural scenery and thousands of years of cultural heritage. History, in ancient times, the intercommunication between the West and the Central Plains made this place the center of the northern route of the Silk Road. After getting off the train, it was already past eight o'clock in the evening when we arrived in Aksu, so we had to book a place to stay and rest for a night, recharge our batteries and start the trip to Aksu the next day.

After settling down at night, I went out to "forage" after being hungry all day. I went to a Xinjiang home-cooked restaurant on the street and ordered an authentic mutton pilaf, which was wrapped in fine-grained rice The meat is fragrant and oily, and there is a huge piece of mutton. It feels so refreshing to eat meat.
At noon the next day, I ordered the special pigeon soup, grilled sizzling meat kebabs, and a mutton pie that was bigger than my face. It is hard to imagine where to eat such delicious and tender mutton after leaving Xinjiang.
Passing by the melon and fruit market in Aksu, I finally saw the legendary Bingtangxin Red Fuji Apple. I couldn’t wait to buy a few to taste. It was really sweet to my heart.
The aunt who sold the fruit also gave me a few red dates that are special in Aksu for me to taste. I took a bite, it was crispy, refreshing and sweet, and the taste was really good.

In the morning, I first went to the long-awaited Duolanghe Scenic Area, and wandered along the Duolanghe River. There are many empty spaces for activities, and there are many sculptures and small bridges, which are unique.
Then went straight to Gumo City. This is a small scenic spot built recently, which was built with the aid of Hangzhou. The ancient cities of Wensu and Gumo are near Aksu, and this is a reconstructed scenic spot.
The majestic city walls reproduce the magnificence of the Silk Road back then.
The Aksu Regional Museum is diagonally across the road from Gumo City. How can I, who loves humanities and history, not go in and find out?
