Day 12: Sunrise at Sea - Orchid Island Diving - Taroko Old Street

I got up at 5:00 in the morning, sat on the bed and looked at the east, the sky and the earth were gray, and there seemed to be mountains in the distance, which were entangled with thick clouds and it was not clear. The sun is hiding behind, and the surrounding clouds are turning red, and the redness slowly disappears, and the day emerges from the clouds. I feel a little regretful that I didn't see the big red sun as I imagined in the morning.

Today's activity is deep diving, the instructor is Mr. Lin, and my wife is participating in the activity. I am in charge of doing chores and taking the children around the island.

According to my wife afterwards, Thailand's deep diving is worthless compared to this, and it is only suitable for the elderly to experience!

First of all, our language communication is the biggest advantage. Mr. Lin is a professional, he speaks humorously, and the communication process is very comfortable. The first is a discussion, explaining the precautions for diving suits and oxygen cylinders, and confirming that divers can remember several points. Then fully equipped to the shallow sea to fully train and warm up.

Mr. Lin and his female assistant assisted the water. The assistant led the way in front, and Mr. Lin was beside him. Different sea areas here have different scenery. Mr. Lin's pleasure is that he can choose different scenery every day according to the different preferences of tourists. My wife is an adventurous type. After communication, he took him to the coral area. He said that most of the tourists in the past were willing to watch fish in shallower places, but this time they can go deeper. This coral area is also the first time to bring guests.

The following is mainly based on the dictation of my wife:

Since the shallow sea is full of black coral, the sea water is somewhat dirty. Walking straight forward, a cave with no end in sight appeared in front of my eyes. My wife followed the assistant forward with fear and joy. After the twists and turns in the cave, there is a vast cave sky in front of you, the sea water seems to be clear at once, and there are growing coral islands under your feet. In the colorful holes, the coral polyps are soft and slippery with the waves. Under the sunlight, there are groups of small white, yellow, blue, and purple fish swimming around and above, and the bright colors are so cute that you can reach them! There are also sea snakes winding past from time to time, accompanying them. There is only wonder here, no fear! Everything is breathtakingly beautiful! Breathtakingly beautiful——

My wife was indeed a little suffocated. After diving for more than 40 minutes, the coach wanted to stay a little longer, but she couldn't take it anymore. At first, I was not used to biting the respirator, and kept swallowing saliva. Later, the saliva dried up, and I was really uncomfortable, so I signaled the coach to come up.

When I was chatting nearby, I heard from the local Dawu people that the sea snakes here are indeed highly venomous, but because the living space is too comfortable, the fangs have degenerated now. Unless they are provoked, they may be poisonous in the case of crazy bites. Can live in peace with people. It sounds like the living conditions of the locals! ! !

In the afternoon, I took a small plane back to Taichung. The little guy only has 21 seats. Air tickets are about the same price as ferry tickets, but they are much faster. It takes 15 minutes to arrive by plane after a 3-hour boat ride. The reason why most people don’t choose airplanes is that the airflow disturbance during this voyage is relatively serious. Although there has been no accident, it makes people feel scared. When we booked the ticket by phone, we said it was already full, and then we waited for the waiting ticket before going up. But after boarding the plane, there are still 3 empty seats. It seems that the local public transportation in Taiwan sells tickets like this. No matter how difficult it is to buy tickets, there are several empty seats on it.

Except for the loud noise of the small plane, it is quite cool in other aspects. We went up to the sky after a short run-up on the runway. When the plane climbed over the white clouds, it felt like we were frozen in the air. Only the clouds under our feet and around us were floating backwards. Especially the feeling of looking at the sea is very good. When looking down at a height of several hundred meters, the surface of the sea is shimmering, just like a glacier that is about to melt, breaking into many large pieces. The shining ocean currents are all heading in one direction, gurgling through them, a very refreshing picture.
