Day 3: Tai Tung Hai University - Fengjia Night Market

I woke up naturally in the morning and set off happily. When passing through Taipei Main Station, I saw many Muslims in the underground shopping mall. The locals around me liked to chat, saying that Taipei Main Station looks like a mosque, which should be designed by religious believers. When we got off the bus in Taichung City, there were monks everywhere. It seems that there are cultural characteristics everywhere.

Because the child left her luggage at Taichung Station, we only found out when we arrived at the hotel that it took several hours to pick up the luggage back and forth. The friendly service at Taichung Station is still very comfortable.

On the way back and forth today, I took Mr. Xie's taxi and chatted all the way, feeling quite destined. There is a feeling in this place that the elderly are very healthy, and those before the age of 70 are competent for various jobs. The driver who is so old also offered to help with the luggage, which made me feel embarrassed.

Mr. Xie is a veteran. After retiring from the public service system, he can still receive a monthly pension of about RMB 9,100, but he feels "nothing to do" and is still working hard every day. He hopes that we will hire his car to go around the island. Since the medical housing here is not burdensome, the food is expensive but safe, and he can also enjoy himself at work. Along the way, he complained the most about the local councilors. The government was cutting the pensions of retirees from the civil service system, but the councilors were indifferent to this, saying nice things but doing nothing.

It was already evening when we arrived at Tunghai University. Compared with National Taiwan University, it looks much cleaner here. In the strategy I was looking for, it was said that this is the most beautiful university, and it really lives up to its name. This place is like an ancient Chinese academy in the previous life. Many departments are courtyard-like structures, surrounded by bungalows, with a wide green space in the middle for teachers to give lectures. Reading here has the feeling of "the sound of the wind, the sound of the rain, the sound of reading, and the sound of reading is in your ears" in ancient times. I wonder if the textbooks here are all vertical and read in your hand.

This is a church university in this world. The church in the center is the most religious feature on the campus. It is said to be the work of Mr. I.M. Pei. From a distance, it looks like a thick open book buckled on a green field. It was dusk when we arrived, the church was closed, and there were still people taking pictures on the lawn in twos and threes. The front and rear walls of the church are all glass. I stood in front and looked back, and I could see the green trees on the hillside behind. Due to the effect of light and shadow, it seems that there are bright white steps extending up to the horizon along the hillside behind the church, which makes the small church more solemn. Perhaps this is the extraordinary feature of the master's work.

Back to Taichung Fengjia Night Market after dark, the night market here is full of people. Personally, I feel that this place is cheaper than Taipei, and the overall price is almost 80% of Taipei's Ximending Night Market. I have the impression that there is food, such as abalone and phoenix snails. Recommended food - oyster omelette. Oyster + fried egg + water spinach + cooking sauce, the sweet, smooth and crispy taste can last for a long time!

I failed to choose a homestay today. Although the decoration is very chic and clean, the air conditioner is too loud. The wife said it was the sound of a tractor, and she didn't sleep well all night. It’s better to be a daughter, you can fall asleep when you are sleepy, and you are not afraid of interference. It’s nice to be young!
