Jizu Mountain, located in Binchuan County, Dali City, Yunnan Province, is the ashram of Kasyapa Bodhisattva. From October 19 to 24, 2020, I went to Yunnan Dali for recuperation. There was an arrangement to go to Jizu Mountain in the itinerary. On the morning of the 20th, in the drizzle, I took a car to visit Jizu Mountain.

Jizu Mountain got its name because of its peak in the northwest and its tail in the southeast, with three peaks in the front and a ridge in the back, which looks like a chicken foot. The name of the mountain is a bit rustic. After reading some information on the Internet in the car, I realized that Jizu Mountain is the ashram of Kasyapa Bodhisattva. After lunch at a rural restaurant in Siqian Village, Jizushan Town, in front of the mountain, I looked up at Jizushan, which was covered in rain and fog, and I could not distinguish the shape of the mountain.

Going into the mountain by car, you can see a tower on the top of the cliff in the distance.

After going up the mountain, go from the parking lot on the mountainside to the sightseeing station of the scenic spot. Along the road, there are dense pine forests, bamboo clusters, gurgling water and quiet scenery. When I came to the sightseeing station, I saw a temple next to it. When I walked in, I saw a temple called the Thousand Buddha Hall.

Take the sightseeing car to the next station of the cableway, the rain and fog are shrouded, and the scenery can no longer be discerned for tens of meters. After arriving at the cableway station, transfer to the cableway to Tianzhu Peak, the highest peak of Jizu Mountain. Sitting in the cable car and looking out, there is rain and fog, but there is nothing left.

Jizu Mountain Tianzhu Peak is 3,248 meters above sea level. The cableway station is about 20 minutes away from the peak. After leaving the station, climb up the steps and go to the Jinding Temple on the peak.

There is a fork in the road leading to Huashou Gate, but I don't care about it. I passed the fork twice when I went up and down the mountain, and I never went to have a look. It is a pity that I missed the scenic spot afterward. Huashou Gate is a huge natural stone gate on the south side of Tianzhu Peak. There are two square pagodas with dense eaves in front of it. They are called Yinguang Twin Pagodas. They are 4 meters high and were built during the Wanli period of Ming Dynasty. According to legend, more than two thousand years ago, the head of the top ten disciples of Sakyamuni, drinking light Kasyapa, holding a gold-thread cassock and carrying relics of the Buddha, preached Buddhism at the Huashou Gate of Jizu Mountain, and kept his clothes in meditation.

From the Shangxiang Mountain Road to the Jinding Temple on the top of Tianzhu Peak, this is the highest temple in Jizu Mountain. It was built in the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty.

The most eye-catching features of Jinding Temple are the Golden Hall and the towering Shurangama Pagoda behind it. The Golden Palace is actually the Bronze Palace, which was moved here from Mingfeng Mountain in Kunming during the Ming Dynasty (1637), but it was destroyed during the "Cultural Revolution". Now the Golden Palace, I touch it with my hand, it feels like it is made of wood.

The Shurangama Pagoda is a hollow square brick pagoda with dense eaves, 42 meters high and 13 levels. ". The Shurangama Pagoda is an ideal viewing spot for a distant view. It is said that climbing to the second floor of the pagoda can overlook the magnificent scenery of "four views" of Jizu Mountain, that is, the sunrise in the east, the auspicious clouds in the south, the Erhai Lake in the west, and the Jade Dragon in the north. Lijiang Jade Dragon Snow Mountain).

Jizu Mountain is the end point of Xu Xiake's life tour in Ming Dynasty. He visited Jizu Mountain twice in the 11th year of Ming Chongzhen (1638) and the 12th year of Chongzhen (1639). "Jizu Mountain Records". He climbed to the top of Tianzhu Peak and sighed, "Dongri, Xihai, Nanyun, Beixue, among the four, it is amazing to get one of them in the sea, but Tianzhu Peak has four views of the world, which is not special. The mountain is actually the head of the sea!"

It's a pity that when I climbed to the top of Tianzhu Peak, because of the rain and fog, I couldn't see the distant mountain scenery, and I couldn't appreciate the magnificent scenery of Jizu Mountain. This situation is as regrettable as I was at the Golden Summit of Mount Emei in 2011.

It is said that Jizu Mountain has "Tianzhu Buddha Light", "Hua Shou Qinglei", "Erhai Lake Huilan", "Snow in Cangshan Mountain", "Wanhe Songtao", "Flying Waterfall Piercing Clouds", "Sunset on Hanging Rocks", The eight sceneries such as "Autumn Moon in the Pagoda Courtyard" have been chanted by poets and poets of all ages. Jizu Mountain also has Zhusheng Temple, Huayan Temple, Sleeping Buddha Temple and other temples distributed in deep mountains and valleys. It is said that Tibetan lamas will carry scriptures and Buddha statues to Jizu Mountain to worship every year of the rooster. All of these can only be left for a future opportunity to revisit.

Leave Jinding Temple and go down the mountain from the temple gate. Passing through Sanguandian, looking back here, the rain and fog are lingering, and the weather is myriad. It's not like a fairyland is better than a fairyland.

Walk down Tianzhu Peak, go to the upper station of the cableway and take the cable car back to the lower station of the cableway. Suddenly, I found that the ancient ginkgo forest next to the lower station of the cableway showed the artistic conception of ink paintings in the rain and fog.

All the way out of the sightseeing station of the scenic spot and back to the parking lot of the scenic spot, walking along the ancient Xiake Road in the forest, suddenly found that there are little monkeys appearing in the treetops beside the road. It turns out that this area is a monkey area, and the smart little monkey gave me Jizu Mountain The trip brought an exciting end.

Just after leaving Jizu Mountain, it was raining and the clouds were clearing, and sometimes the sun appeared. Maybe an hour after leaving Jizu Mountain, you can see the scenery of Jizu Mountain clearly. I have to say this is a pity.
