Namtso is ranked third among the "China's Most Beautiful Five Lakes" by the "Expert Society Group" of the National Geographic of China in the "Beauty Pageant China" activity (the top two are Qinghai Lake and Kanas Lake). If Qinghai Lake is the most beautiful mirror lake, and Kanas Lake is the most colorful autumn lake, then Namtso is the most holy sky lake.

Prominent position, destined to experience, is enough weight. Accompanied by the Nyainqentanglha Snow Mountain, Namtso is not only the highest saltwater lake in the world, with an altitude of 4,718 meters, and the closest to the sky.

The ancient Zhang Zhung civilization is the source of Tibetan civilization. It once unified eighteen countries known as 180,000 tribes and established the ancient Zhang Zhung Kingdom, which was powerful in Central Asia, until it was destroyed by the Tubo Dynasty in the 8th century AD. The ancient Zhang Zhung civilization was spread based on "Yongzhong Benjiao" as the main line.

Yongzhongben religion is an ancient religion in Tibet, and its teachings and scriptures contain many "roots" and "souls" of Tibetan history and culture. It promotes "Great Perfection", and believes that reincarnation and Nirvana, and all the laws contained in it, are perfect in natural wisdom. His Zen practice is quite similar to Taoism, advocating: practice is no practice and no fabrication; behavior is no choice, compassion, and selfishness; the result is no gain, no hope, no fear.

The quiet and magnificent Namtso Holy Lake is inherently empty, self-bright, and has the brilliance of Buddha nature. A large number of eminent monks once practiced Zen Buddhism here. It is said: "In history, there are twenty-four great achievers who have achieved the 'Rainbow Incarnation' without interruption because of the practice of the Xiangxiong Dzogchen in our religion, while other 'Rainbow Incarnation' achievements have been interrupted. There are countless others.”

At the intersection of water and sky, does the intermittent rainbow rising in the sky mean that a bright Buddha with perfect practice is completing the "earth-to-air" sublimation in his life?

Namtso is also the place of Tibetan Buddhism "round light divination". It is said that the supernatural phenomena that appear in the holy lake can be used to predict good fortune and good fortune. Therefore, every summer, many lamas go on a pilgrimage to predict the future with the supernatural sights that appear in the lake.

The holy lake is intricately intertwined with the charm and belief of the life of man and god. Every April to May of the Tibetan Year of the Goat (the zodiac sign of Namtso is sheep), all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Dharma protectors will set up altars in Namtso to hold a Dharma meeting. Lake pilgrimage, pray for the salvation of the soul. By walking around the holy lake and worshiping, they complete the incense ceremony deep in their hearts for the religion in their lives.

The natural medium around the holy lake includes sedge-paved grasslands and weedy wetlands. These natural pastures can be used for grazing all year round. Every year before the arrival of winter, herdsmen in northern Tibet will drive their cattle and sheep here to spend the snowy winter.

Many waterfowl regard the holy lake as the harbor of Liberty, and they are raised here by the sky and the earth. They are the stayers who have seen the world, and they are relatives. In the evening, brown-headed gulls and bar-headed geese will swim close to the shore. When you throw food, they will happily gather around and grab food to join in.

From Lhasa to Namtso, about 190 kilometers, the altitude rises steeply by 1,100 meters, and it is easy to go high, so slow down. There are B&Bs in the scenic area for accommodation, but there is no running water in the room, and there is no bathroom. The fresh water here has to be transported in from the ticket office of the scenic spot, which is 50 kilometers away. Fresh water has thus become a scarce resource. In addition, there are also weather conditions such as large temperature difference between day and night, cold nights, and strong winds in the scenic area. Even if you come here in summer, you must wear fleece jackets at night. The sound of wind and rain will make you sleep bumpy all night, but Namtso in the morning and evening is so holy that it makes all the troubles worthwhile.

Namtso is both simple and quiet, but also luxurious. It simply and quietly allows you to automatically complete the separation and move closer to the direction where the inner sage is the king. It luxuriously allows you to open the window to see the snow-capped mountains, and the peaks are used as wall hangings. The water that blues the earth and the clouds that whiten the sky are gathered here, and they are quietly waiting for you to collect good time.
