This is a picturesque scenic spot. This is a Tibetan Buddhist Lama Temple, where the body of the sixth Dalai Lama is enshrined. This is the Guangzong Temple hidden deep in the west foot of Helan Mountain. The Gospel Temple is called the South Temple and the Gospel Temple is called the North Temple.
The South Temple is part of the Nansi Scenic Area of Helan Mountain, Alxa Left Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is located 20 kilometers to the right of Yinba Highway S218 in Bayanhot Town, the seat of the government of Alxa Left Banner, from Yinchuan to Alxa Left Banner. It is 70 kilometers southeast to Yinchuan and northwest to Ba Yanhaote is 35 kilometers away. The Nan Temple was first built in the Qianlong period. The sixth Dalai Lama traveled thousands of miles to preach scriptures and evangelism here, and returned to the Buddha here.
From the entrance of the scenic spot to the gate of the South Temple, there is a winding valley about one kilometer long. The colors seem to be fresh, and together with the flowing hada and colorful streamers, they express people's wishes for blessings on the auspicious cliff.
Historically, the Nan Temple has been expanded and repaired several times, and its scale once surpassed that of Kumbum Monastery in Qinghai. In the temple, there were treasures of the cloak of Ganden Chiba, the bell brazing of Xuanzang, the eminent monk of the Tang Dynasty, and the five Buddhas of the sixth Dalai Lama. The crown, the silver pot given by the Eighth Panchen Lama, the temple regulations formulated by Zhangjia Guoshi, the Tibetan robes, court beads, and seals of various sizes and other rare cultural relics given by Emperor Guangxu when he granted Desierhugtu.
After hundreds of years, the South Temple has also been destroyed several times. The existing buildings are basically all newly built in recent years. Only the two white pagodas standing side by side are left.
Whether it is new or original, people today are trying to restore the original appearance of the South Temple. When you are in it, you will feel the harmony between nature and man-made, and the harmony between architecture and mountains. People's inner feelings are placed everywhere. Desire and yearning, I hope this is the last reconstruction and there will be no further destruction.
