In September, I suddenly received a text message from China Southern Airlines, saying that my 30,000 miles would expire on December 31. So I made up my mind to take my wife and son to the country on New Year's Day. After some consideration, I finally decided to go to Beijing for a few days. Our boy has been to the capitals of other countries several times, but it is too much to say that he has not been to the capital of his own country. Secondly, my wife is a fan of the Qing palace, and there has always been a plot of the Forbidden City, but she has never been to Beijing once when she is so old. Finally, the son of a small airplane fan has liked the A380 since he was a child. The only domestic airline that operates the A380 is China Southern Airlines, which flies the Guangzhou-Beijing route. Killing three birds with one stone, so I spent 90,000 miles + 300 machine construction that night to exchange for a round-trip ticket to Beijing on New Year's Day.

PS: A week before the departure, I suddenly received a notice from China Southern Airlines that the aircraft type was changed to A350, which is the latest one anyway. Unexpectedly, it was changed to a Boeing 777 three days before departure. It took a lot of saliva to coax my son. At the same time, I can only pray that the A380 on the return journey will not be replaced temporarily.

Accommodation: Yujing Nanluo Hotel

Comments: I mainly want to find a hotel that is relatively close to the surrounding attractions in Beijing. The location of the hotel is very good, and it is very convenient to stroll in the alleys of Nanluoguxiang. Walk directly to Houhai, the Drum Tower is not far away. There is an online celebrity fried noodles next to it, and the staff is also very enthusiastic! I didn't take the bus before when I went out and planned to give it a try. They gave me change. All in all, it was a very comfortable stay experience, and I recommend staying here.

Day 1 on the road

Since we had an early flight at 8 o'clock in the morning, we headed out to the airport after 5 o'clock in the morning. Most of the VIP rooms in the airport didn't open until 7 o'clock, so we had to wander around the terminal.

When I arrived at Beijing Airport, I felt a biting cold wind when I went out to the parking lot outside the pick-up master. The children's shoes from the south couldn't afford it.

PS: The imperial city is so big that I am scared to death. Looking at the distance from the map, I feel that Houhai is very close to the hotel. This ratio is at most one or two kilometers on the Guangzhou map. It really is the center of the universe

Houhai has frozen over, which is a very special experience for children from the south where it is extremely hot all year round.

Didn't go in, just borrowed the bathroom at the door and used it.

The big brothers and sisters who are swimming in winter are shivering when they look at them

Miss, you are so strong

The one passing by on the road from Houhai to Nanluoguxiang may be an online celebrity shop. My principle of traveling abroad is to never waste time queuing up at an online celebrity shop.

My first impression of Nanluoguxiang is that it is similar to Jinli and Kuanzhai Alley.

Fried spiders, scorpions, and centipedes are an eye-opener for Cantonese who are ridiculed for eating everything. It turns out that it is Beijingers who stand at the top of the food chain.

The candied haws in the imperial capital are really delicious, and my son can’t stop eating them. It’s completely different from the Li Gui he ate in Guangzhou.

After wandering around Nanluoguxiang for a while, we took the subway back to the hotel. Get off at Xuanwumen Station and walk a few hundred meters to get there, which is more convenient than taking a taxi.

Day 2 Forbidden City Day Tour

The Forbidden City, which my wife misses so much, I visited almost thirty years ago, but I didn't feel much about it. It's only two subway stops away from the hotel, but you have to change the line once.

Since it is the off-season, there are not many people, so there is basically no need to line up.

I think back then (in the 1990s) when I came here, I could still enter the main hall, but I couldn’t get close to the dragon chair.

Collections in the Clock Museum.

The harem that the wives of Qing court drama fans miss so much, in fact, few palaces are open to visit, so you can only look at the buildings to feel it.

This is the Palace of Yanxi Palace in the popular Qing palace drama Story of Yanxi Palace some time ago, and now it is a pile of ruins.

After coming out of Shenwumen, we passed the opposite Jingshan Mountain and went up to see the whole picture of the Forbidden City. Half of the way up was climbing with my son in my arms. My parents were really exhausted.

From this point of view, it is still very majestic. I originally wanted to see the Forbidden City in the snow, but unfortunately the weather is not beautiful. After we left, the first snow of 2020 fell that night.

After coming out of Jingshan Park, there was no place to park and we couldn’t get a Didi, so we took the No. 109 bus back to the hotel. In the evening, we participated in the dinner party of friends in Beijing and had a meal of roast duck.

Day 3 Mutianyu Great Wall

Speaking of the Great Wall, Badaling is generally more famous, while Mutianyu is less known. Because of this, I felt that I would give up Badaling, go to Mutianyu, and book a one-day chartered car on Fliggy, 550 yuan, to save trouble. Departing from the hotel at 9 o'clock, there is not much traffic along the way, it takes about two hours to arrive, and there is still a little snow on the road along the way.

We bought the tickets for the Speed Cableway. We take the cableway up the mountain and slide down the slide when we go down the mountain. The average per capita is 160.

A bit of a ski resort rush.

The scenery on the slide is quite beautiful.

After going up to building No. 6, we decided to walk slowly in the direction of No. 14 and forget about it.

It feels good to have no one.

After walking down the road for more than two hours, we went back to the No. 6 slide and went down the mountain, in order to avoid the peak hours of traffic jams in the imperial capital at night.

Let the driver take us to Guijie for a meal of mutton, and then return to the hotel contentedly.

Day 4 Summer Palace + Temple of Heaven Park

Still the same sentence, the imperial capital is too big, I don’t want to waste too much time on public transportation, so I just took a taxi from the hotel and went straight to the West Gate of the Summer Palace. It took about forty minutes, sixty or seventy yuan, not counting expensive.

The lake is already frozen. The purpose of coming here is to play the legendary ice car. Facts have proved that this thing really tests the strength of the upper body, especially the double ice car. It is too difficult to slide.

The single-person ice car is quite easy to play, and the speed is quite fast. It is a good experience for children in the south.

After coming out of the Summer Palace, we took a taxi and went straight to the Temple of Heaven Park, arriving before the stop of ticket sales at four o'clock. Why are you here? Because after reading a picture book in the Imperial Capital, my son has been talking about the Echo Wall all day long, and he wants to see it anyway. Today is our last day in the Imperial Capital, so let him satisfy him.

The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests is quite majestic.

After coming out of the Temple of Heaven, it was already dinner time, so we decided to take a taxi to eat Siji Minfu Roast Duck at Qianmen Dashilan. To be honest, I personally think this place is more interesting than Nanluoguxiang.

Here, the viewpoint train is 50 yuan for a one-way trip

Day 5 Return

Thank God for the blessings of our ancestors, the return flight has not been changed, it is still A380, and my son is happy to return.
