Autumn is cool and refreshing, so you must take your baby out to play. Climbing mountains, watching red leaves, climbing the Great Wall, visiting ancient towns, picking fresh fruits, soaking in hot springs... All kinds of interesting activities can be experienced together, which requires a place suitable for rest and relaxation.

Depart from Beijing City, get on the Jingcheng Expressway, and arrive at the destination in about two and a half hours. Exit from the Simatai Great Wall, follow the navigation guide, find Bagezhuang Village, Xinchengzi Town, and come to the "girl's living room".

This boutique homestay is located at the foot of the Great Wall, so it takes a mountain road to walk. Although the distance is not too short, there are many fruit trees on the road. It is especially interesting to bring children to play, so that children can experience the beauty of autumn, the harvest season.
Especially on the hillside in front of the homestay, from apple trees to pear trees, from jujube trees to cherry trees, you can recognize all kinds of fruits along the way, and you have come to the commanding heights of this original ecological village.
"Girl's Living Room" is a unique boutique homestay. Backed by the Wangjing Tower and Fairy Tower of the Great Wall, the environment is quiet and peaceful, with a wide view. The entrance is partitioned by a wooden fence, half covering the courtyard. The lighting in the front half of the yard is ensured to be sufficient. At a glance, the overall light tone makes people feel relaxed.
After entering the wooden fence, there is a shallow pool with white gravel in the center of the yard, and there are a few small goldfish playing in the water. A yellow wooden horse is placed on the white gravel, which immediately attracts the children's attention.
At the end of the pool, there is a lush young tree at the back of the yard. In autumn, the leaves will turn red, which is really beautiful. The design of this yard is simple and uncomplicated, and the constituent elements are very parent-child, lovable, dynamic and quiet, and very popular among children.
There are nine guest rooms here that invite different designers for space creation and experience design, each with its own characteristics but unified in tone. It can be said that the designers have designed 9 ways to spend a day based on their own life hobbies, namely poetry, fantasy, music, craftsman, honey, tea, painting, music, and books. The price of different rooms varies according to the size and peak season, and the price ranges from 680 yuan to 2580 yuan.
The main color of all the rooms is white, which allows people to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and relax. The 9 rooms are divided into front yard and back yard, and there is a restaurant in the middle for isolation.
The four houses in the front yard are adjacent to each other on both sides. There is also a wooden fence to block the door in front of the window, giving the room more privacy.
These houses are starlight rooms with skylights, and the lighting during the day is superb. The sun shines down, the house is clean and tidy, and the white walls make the space look bright and spacious. The theme room of "Le" has guitars and drums, which are not only decorations, but also musical instruments. It is quite romantic to play a song casually.
The dining room and kitchen in the middle are designed in an open style, simple and elegant, clean and tidy. The floor-to-ceiling glass sliding door design makes you feel comfortable eating and chatting here, and it is also good to hold a party or team building.
The restaurant can be crossed to the backyard, or bypassed by the small path and wooden plank road next to the restaurant. Purple irises are planted on the side of the road, swaying. Yuewa likes the path here and dances happily.
There is a large space for enjoying the shade or basking in the sun in the backyard. There are rattan swinging chairs in the corner, designed like a swing, and a round hanging cage. Both adults and children like to sit there. Yuewa goes to play several times a day.
The rooms are distributed over two floors, two upstairs and three downstairs. The largest room is the "book" on the second floor. The ground has a certain slope, and the lower part is a large circular book pool. There are tatami mats with good lighting and are especially suitable for teaching picture books to children.
The high place is a round big bed and a round bathtub. The design of the bathtub is semi-open, and the curtain can be pulled up to form a private space. The design is very sexy.
On the third floor, there is a terrace for sunbathing and stargazing. This homestay is on a high terrain, facing the ridge, and you can see the Great Wall when you look over. We rested on the deck chairs for a while, and the quiet environment made time seem to slow down. Yuewa purposely laid Erlang's legs up to show that she was having fun.
The homestay also has entertainment facilities such as mahjong room and billiards room, which are located on the second floor of the backyard.
Other featured rooms that attracted me were Qu and Ming. "Qu" is a room with costumes, and it is a lot of fun to take pictures here. The room has a moon door and a skylight, and the light is sufficient and cool. Any shot here is a blockbuster.
The "Ming" room is designed with tatami mats, which children especially like, where they can enjoy tea and read books. The homestay also provides paper and pens to allow children to fully develop their artistic talents. Children's picture books also have the classic pigeon series. Each room is decorated with plants, adding vitality to the tranquility. The facilities in each room are all available, and the air conditioner makes the room as warm as early summer.
We stayed in two rooms, Le and Jiang.
When we opened the door while putting our luggage, a big dragonfly flew into the "Jiang's" room, and we all cried out excitedly. Yuewa seldom saw dragonflies in the city, so she was very curious. The insect also seems to have aura. I called it a few times, and it landed on my hand for a while. It was a little lost in the house and flew around, and then let it go out.
About dining:
Breakfast: free breakfast
Lunch and dinner: RMB 88/RMB 108/RMB 128/person/meal, prepared by the landlord couple, please contact customer service for specific menu and arrangement.
Donkey friends who like to climb the wild Great Wall can ask the homestay housekeeper to lead the way to the Fairy Tower and Wangjing Tower. But we did not choose a steeper mountain road when we brought our baby.
Tour - Gubei Water Town
After putting away our luggage, we set off for Gubei Water Town. It takes about 25 minutes by car to arrive. The weather on this day is particularly good, the sky is bright blue, and the clouds are thin and thin. As soon as we walked out of the parking lot of the scenic spot, we turned on the photo mode, taking pictures everywhere!
The commercialization here is well done, but it does not lose the artistic atmosphere. If you put on the gray cloth shirts of the Republic of China, you can shoot the feeling of traveling through time and space.
Although it is a water town, it does not have the graceful and soft beauty of Jiangnan water town, but more of the rough and majestic north. The houses are taller, the stone walls are stronger, and the canals are wider.
Compared with the wooden houses in Wuzhen, the sense of age here is a bit old, but it has a different kind of beauty. Villages surrounded by mountains and rivers, the scenery is always pleasant: refreshing.
Walking into the scenic spot, there is no shortage of delicious snacks. The scenic spot has three major features: shochu, roast meat, and sesame cakes. The biscuits sold here are indeed a specialty of Jiangnan: Jinyun biscuits. Jinyun is the county seat of Lishui City, Zhejiang Province. The biscuit craftsmanship here has been passed down from generation to generation, with a history of five or six hundred years. Put a charcoal fire in a yellow drum, and put the cake in the drum to bake.
Shaobing is made of flour, pig's head and dried plums, with salt, sugar and black sesame to enhance the flavor. The outer layer of the cake is crispy, and the inner layer is soft and glutinous. According to legend, when Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang went to Jinyun, he couldn’t forget the Jinyun sesame cake after eating it. After he became emperor, he specially conferred the title of the master who made Jinyun sesame cake as an imperial chef, and specially made sesame cake for him. Because we are too familiar with this specialty delicacy, we didn't queue up, the queue is too long, and each person is limited to 2 pieces. This is a simplified version of Gubei Water Town, dried plum vegetable pancakes, without meat filling. Tourists who have not been to Zhejiang to taste Jinyun Shaobing can give it a try.
Zhejiang Lishui Jinyun Biscuits
Not far from the snack area is the dyeing workshop. The scale of the dyeing workshop here is quite large, the sun shines on the yard, the colorful strips of dyed cloth flutter in the yard, and the light and shadow also change with the wind.
It is not only a scenic spot for taking pictures, but also a playground for children to play. Yuewa had a great time playing hide-and-seek here, and kept calling "Mom and Dad, come and find me!"
There is Qiankun in the back room, which is not only the working area of the dyeing workshop, but also a museum. Various tools for dyeing cloth are displayed one by one, including pattern molds of various styles, colorful dyeing vats, etc.
If you are interested, you can also experience the process of dyeing cloth in the workshop upstairs. It is a good aesthetic education course for both adults and children.
From the dyeing workshop to the center of the town, there are many shops and schools where you can experience folk art. Accessories, paper-cutting, kites, shadow puppetry... the shops are small but exquisite, and you can spend a happy time in any shop.
The streets and rivers outside the store are also pleasing to the eye. Yuewa even stood on the viewing platform by a bridge for half an hour, euphemistically saying: "I want to see the scenery here!" It really gave me the illusion of coming to the East Venice .
Appreciate some characteristic small shops and street scenes. You can see many interesting designs here, such as Sima Gang Restaurant. By the way, I told the story of Sima Guang smashing the pot.
I visited some small handicraft shops, especially this small shop selling scales. Beautifully made, and certainly not cheap.
Eat and drink while shopping. After eating the special hawthorn ice cream, the children ordered their favorite watermelon juice.
Then we climbed the mountain together to the church on the top of the mountain. There are many climbing steps, and the children are very happy to climb.
There are observation decks and telescopes for panoramic views of the water town, and the scenery is beautiful no matter day or night. It was already sunset when we climbed the mountain. We chased the afterglow and sunset to the top of the mountain. The red was dyed with clouds, the sky turned from red to blue, and it happened to catch up with the lights of the town.
The dots of lights under the mountain are integrated into one, without losing the prosperity.
The lighting arrangement of the church on the mountain is beautiful, there are small fountains, flower galleries, elk, moon chairs, etc., where you can rest and take a lot of beautiful night scenes.
This day happened to be the Mid-Autumn Festival, and we took Yuewa to watch the super big and super round moon with a telescope. After seeing the night view of the water town on the mountain, we went down the mountain to see the musical fountain.
The daily performances of the fountain will be written on the wooden sign next to the fountain, or you can check it on the official website. This performance is accompanied by a light show, and the lights shine on the towers of the ancient town, which is a bit like a simplified version of Disney's light show.
As the melody of the music rises and falls, the fountain changes its water column pattern, high or low, and there are fireworks when it reaches the climax! Five games a day, don't miss it.
If you go down the mountain earlier, you can go to Riyue Island Square at 8 o'clock to watch Kongming Lanterns flying. A fantastic performance, the Kongming lanterns carried by the drones fly together, and the formation can also be changed.
The night is getting darker and the coolness hits. At this time, it is very good to go to the hot spring to soak your feet, or go to the snack street to have a bowl of hot mutton soup or big wonton stew.
The open-air hot springs give people the illusion of walking into the Japanese countryside. The free hot spring pools are scattered, large and small. There are station-style foot baths on the side of the road, and there are large round hot spring pools on the square; the snacks are not expensive and the portions are sufficient , the taste is worth tasting, but the stores are too small, you need to wait patiently, and some have to eat outside.
You can also watch nostalgic big movies in the hot springs. The old projectors make you feel like going back in time, although the movies shown are all anti-Japanese war movies.
The water town at night is more like water in the south. The lights illuminate the stone roads and stone walls, and the rivers rippling with light reflections make it hard to tell whether you are in the north or the south. The lights of the Great Wall on the mountain in the distance lit up, winding continuously, and it turned out to be a little more enchanting.
On the return trip, we took another road to finish shopping in the water town. There are artists who play and sing in the square, and the melody they sing matches the cool night.
If you are tired of visiting the scenic spots in the water town during the day, you can also go to the children's playground to play with your baby. There are many projects here, such as slides, ocean balls, beaches, rock climbing, Lego, role-playing, picture books, children's cars, etc. It is easy to spend a day, and it is suitable for tourists living in the water town. Due to time constraints, we didn't go in to play, so we can buy tickets online in advance.
After playing for a long time, we drove back to the homestay. Everyone was very tired. Lying in bed watching the starry sky, I fell asleep within five minutes.
Climb - Simatai Great Wall
The next day we took a rest at the homestay in the morning. Yuewa especially likes the white gravel here, she took out her own toys to play house and tell stories, and even fed bread to the little goldfish. Both breakfast and lunch are settled at the homestay. The farmhouse has a large amount of food and natural ingredients.
After lunch, we went to climb the Simatai Great Wall. To climb the Great Wall during the day, you must enter before 2 pm, and you need to make an appointment at least one day in advance on the official website. You can also buy and exchange for a joint ticket of Gubei Water Town + Simatai Great Wall before two o'clock, and the total price can be discounted by 20 yuan. It is recommended to choose the joint ticket to go to the Great Wall first, because there is a time limit. After exchanging tickets, you need to wait for the staff to arrange in the waiting room at the entrance of the Simatai Great Wall, and take a special car to the Great Wall ticket gate.

The Simatai Great Wall is steep and dangerous. I took the cable car with my baby, and the round-trip fare is more favorable. Children ride the cable car at half price. The last time Yuewa took the cable car was to watch the night view in Hakodate, Hokkaido. This time, she saw the mountains and the Great Wall. The view was wide and the sun was shining brightly. It was a completely different feeling. Yuewa was also very excited and thought it was fun. After going up the mountain, she immediately asked to take the cable car down the mountain. Persuade her to see the Great Wall and promise to take the cable car when she returns.
There was still a 700-meter mountain road from the cable car to the Great Wall, but Yuewa was unwilling to go on, so I coaxed and hugged me before leaving the cable car station. We walked slowly and enjoyed the scenery, which took about an hour (actually only ten minutes away). Shops here sell wishing signs, and tourists tie the railings on the side of the road full of red wooden signs. Yuewa is very interested and learns to recognize the characters on them.
Walking to the No. 6 watchtower of the Simatai Great Wall, Yuewa saw the majestic Great Wall and the steep steps, and suddenly became excited again, and couldn't wait to climb up.
I supported her body and hands from behind and climbed up to the enemy tower of the Great Wall step by step, also out of breath. When other tourists saw Yuewa climbing the Great Wall, they all praised: "The kid is really amazing!" Yuewa's psychology was greatly satisfied~ and they agreed to take pictures as a souvenir. You must know that it is not easy to take a positive travel photo for Yuewa.
We still took the cable car down the mountain, and soon ended today's trip to the Great Wall. Back to the B&B, had dinner, read a book and relaxed a bit, then went to bed early.
Reward - Shunyi International Flower Port
Early in the morning of the third day, we had breakfast, packed our luggage and checked out. On the way back, we plan to go to Shunyi Flower Port. It's a little deserted here, and there are few tourists, but the sea of flowers is very beautiful, and scenic spots such as fountains, boardwalks, and chapels are good places to take pictures.
On a day with good weather, you don’t need to retouch the pictures, you don’t need filters, and you can take pictures casually. Especially suitable for wedding photos!
Look at flowers, reeds, bees, butterflies, dragonflies, and hummingbirds. Yuewa likes to be close to nature, usually living in the city, there are too few opportunities to play in nature. I hope to have more opportunities to visit the natural environment in the future!
The three-day and two-night itinerary was also full, and I gained a lot this time. Yuewa commented: "This is a great trip! Mom, when are we going to travel and stay in a hotel again?"
