I used to guard the green water and green mountains, but lived a poor life. Chen Jihui used to be impoverished due to his daughter's illness. In 2017, his family of six moved from the Wengjiao Group of Bangou Village, Changzhai Street to the Shenquangu Community. Now, through targeted poverty alleviation policies and the tourism industry, life is getting better and better.
"I used to guard a few acres of land to grow crops, which was just enough to eat for a year. Now that I have moved here, I have even moved to a scenic spot. The environment is incomparable in my hometown. My wife and I together have five or six thousand yuan a month. With the income of money, I never thought that I could live such a good life." Chen Jihui said happily.
The Shenquan Valley Scenic Spot is located next to Yongzeng Village, Changzhai Street. Tourism in the village has developed, and the number of jobs needed has greatly increased. Chen Jihui worked as an administrator in the scenic area, and his wife worked as a cleaner on Weiyuan Street. The scenic spot does not have working hours, and the two do odd jobs together, earning more than 10,000 yuan a year.
With the arrival of tourists, Cheng Zhonghuan, who lives in Yongzeng Village, also started to set up a stall every day, selling special snacks to tourists, earning a stable income.
Cheng Zhonghuan said: "In the past few years, through the development of tourism, the environment in our village has become better and better. Every family has lived in a small bungalow. In addition to working in scenic spots and running inns, there are many people like me who live on their own. After setting up a small stall, I want to recommend local specialty snacks to more tourists.”
It is understood that there are 910 households in Yongzeng Village, Changzhai Street, Changshun County, including immigrants, of which 265 households have registered poor households. The 19 poverty-stricken households in the scenic area directly participated in tourism services by setting up stalls and opening inns, and indirectly ate "tourism meals" by working as long-term and odd jobs in the scenic area.
In recent years, Changshun County has highlighted the guidance of the government, giving full play to the main body of the market, driving the in-depth participation of villagers, vigorously developing all-for-one tourism, and turning the good scenery into a good "prospect".
