【Yangmeizhu Xiejie Hutong】

Yangmeizhu Xiejie: It is a street in Beijing, located in the southwest of Qianmenwai, about half a kilometer west of the west entrance of Dashilan Street, from Meishi Street in the east to Yanshou Street in the west. In the Ming Dynasty, it was called Xiejie, because the direction of the street is inclined from northeast to southwest, so it got its name.
In the "Comprehensive Map of the Capital" in the fifteenth year of Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1750), it was marked as Yang Meixie Street.
It is said that this is because a Yang matchmaker who was good at matchmaking lived in this Xiejie in the early Qing Dynasty. During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, the homonym was refined into Yangmeizhu Xiejie.
