Rainbow Military Village is located in Xitun District, Taichung City. It is about 27 kilometers from Taichung Railway Station and about 21 kilometers from Fengjia Night Market.

Because the veteran resident Huang Yongfu painted paintings on the old houses to be demolished, he was known as "Grandpa Rainbow", which triggered the student Cai Kesi and others to launch the "Rescue Rainbow Village" campaign. The Taichung City Government rezoned the city. The place was designated as a park and preserved, and only Caihong's grandfather Huang Yongfu and his wife live in the current site.

On the brick wall, interesting and lovely totems are painted, the colors are bold and lively, mainly pink and pink blue, the road becomes a magnificent rainbow, the characters on the wall have childlike lines, and the colors seem to be splashed from the paint bucket, dyeing bright A small village and tourists.

The alley is about 50 meters long, the walls are painted with various portraits, birds and buffaloes, and the ground is covered with rainbows, flowers and words of blessing. When Grandpa Huang first started painting, he drew whatever came to mind, from people, buffaloes, birds to airplanes, and even the pandas "Tuantuan" and "Yuanyuan" were also the subjects of his paintings.

Grandpa Rainbow, who is nearly 80 years old, picked up a brush and painted the entire alley, and these patterns full of vitality and magnificent tones have also become a hot topic on the Internet. In recent years, the Rainbow Village has attracted a large number of tourists to go on pilgrimage. From morning to night, there are tourists with their cameras to take pictures of the rainbow.

Huang Yongfu, the grandfather of Rainbow who was encouraged by tourists, said, "If the government does not demolish it, we will continue to paint." At present, the Rainbow Village is still in progress, blooming one by one under the brush of his grandfather.

Rainbow Village has also been selected as the "Secret Miracle of the World" attraction by the well-known American travel magazine Lonely Planet.
