This is the third time I have come to Pofengling. I have seen the flowers of Cotinus cotinus all over the mountain in spring. It is the first time I know that these trees that will turn red have a poetic name, Cotinus cotinus. After watching its beautiful flowers bloom, I looked forward to the red leaves in autumn, until I saw the opening of the 8th Youlan Mountain Red Leaf Festival, and I was haunted by it, and I followed it again.

1. How to get to Pofengling
Pofengling is 52 kilometers away from downtown Beijing and 3 kilometers northwest of Huangshandian Village, Zhoukoudian Town, Fangshan District. Now as long as you want to go, the transportation is so convenient, even if it is a distant foreign country, you can basically get there in a day, so it is not a problem to come to Fangshanpofengling.
The editor is from Hebei. When you come to Beijing, you need to take the high-speed rail, then transfer to the subway, and then transfer to Fangfang No. 32, which is a bit of a hassle. However, you can take a taxi if you are afraid of trouble, but it is a little far from the South Railway Station. The experience of living here is that waking up to the singing of birds in the morning, suddenly living in an outdoor peach garden far away from the world.
For the second time, I chose to change the place and came to a homestay in the village of Huangshandian in Youlan Mountain, called "Huanghuahua".
This place is also a renovation of rural houses. The yard is large, decorated with literature and art, the interior decoration is elegant and comfortable, and the experience is very good.
This is the third time I live in "Grandma's Small Courtyard". Listening to the name, it always reminds me of my grandma who is far away, very kind.
Huangshandian Village, where the homestay is located, was originally named "Taoyekou". It was a village before the Ming Dynasty, so it got its name because of the long and narrow place. There are 10 courtyards in the village, all of which are homestays developed by the "Hermitage Township" company. There are grandma's small courtyards, Peach Leaf Valley, and Cotinus chinensis blooming. From 2 to 4 bedrooms, they are all rebuilt from old houses in the village.
The reason why the homestay was built here is that about one kilometer away from it is Pofengling, which is "red leaves and green middle reaches, colorful practice and dancing in the sky".

3. Appreciation of red leaves in Pofengling
Meimei had a pleasant breakfast in the small courtyard of the hotel. Amidst the morning calls of birds, I started a day trip to see the red leaves.
At this time, during the period of the 8th Youlan Mountain Red Leaf Festival from 10.10 to 11.15, it is very close from the Huangshandian residence to Pofengling Scenic Area and can be reached on foot.
The red leaves in Pofengling have gradually come into the sight of tourists in recent years, because the coverage rate of red leaves in autumn here reaches 75%, and the mountains are full of red. It has become the second best viewing place for red leaves in Beijing in October after Xiangshan Mountain. The key is that there are fewer tourists here than in Xiangshan, so you don’t need to be so crowded to see people’s heads, you can play slowly in the mountains.
There are many sumac in Pofengling Mountain. This plant is also known as red leaf, red leaf sumac, Zodiacus, etc. It is an important ornamental red leaf tree species in China. The leaves turn red in autumn, bright and dazzling. The famous Beijing Xiangshan red leaf is this kind of tree.
