【Preface】

Speaking of Yunnan, I was eager to see her beauty last year, but due to time constraints, I couldn't make the trip. Recently, I have been struggling with the issue of where to "wave". I searched for various information on the Internet, and then selected a few alternative places. I originally planned to go to Xinjiang, but because I didn't reach a consensus with my friends, I finally found out that only Yunnan is not bad, and the time is just right, so let's lock the travel destination in December in Yunnan!

The next step is to determine the itinerary. It is unrealistic to connect Lijiang, Lugu Lake, and Shangri-La in a five-day itinerary. The time is too fast. Therefore, the target of this itinerary is the classic route in western Yunnan: Shangri-La-Deqin-Weixi-Shangri-La. Considering that the trip is far away, traffic is a big problem. In fact, these classic areas can be reached by bus, but they need to catch up and don’t want to go with a group. Moreover, there are many mountain roads and it is easy to get motion sickness by car. Therefore, I decided to rent a car and travel by car. The most beautiful The scenery is on the road.

It is said that you must come to Tibet once in your life.

There are colorful prayer flags all over the mountains and plains

There are perennially pure towering snow-capped mountains

There are beautiful temples everywhere

This is a world of blue and white

This is the closest place to the stars

This is the pure land that makes you marvel at how great human beliefs are

follow me

72-hour self-driving Diqing West Ring Road

Look at the mountains lined up in front of you

Watch the Lancang River gallop away

Watch the golden light illuminate Meili Snow Mountain

Look at the ubiquitous prayer flags fluttering in the wind

Praying and wishing next to the white pagoda on the top of the thick fog...

Across the vastness of the glacier, chasing dreams above the blue clouds,

Not afraid of the cold wind cracking the ground, not afraid of the wind and snow pressing on the shoulders,

The sea of stars is in front of my eyes, and the shooting stars in my heart are daytime.

【Experience the Intangible Cultural Heritage - Nixi Black Pottery】

Drive 35 kilometers from Shangri-La to Deqin. Among the mountains and low bushes, there is a small village like a paradise - Tangdui.

Our group set off from Shangri-La County, drove through the Napa Seascape, and arrived at this small village famous for its black pottery.

Nixi is a Tibetan tribe, famous for making black pottery (also known as earthen pot) in Northwest Yunnan. Nixi black pottery craftsmanship has been passed down from generation to generation for nearly a thousand years. The old tea-horse road once brought Nixi earthen pot to all directions. Nixi black pottery is made of a kind of red clay in Nixi Village, Shangri-La. Although it is red clay, the clay after firing is jet black, like a Tibetan man, unrestrained and unrestrained.

Common black pottery products include clay pots, butter tea pots, charcoal braziers, and Tibetan eight treasures. In addition to practical value, black pottery also has unique aesthetic and artistic value, with delicate embryo quality, dark and smooth, and a primitive and simple beauty.

Walking into the Tibetan black pottery firing skill center, I met the son of the inheritor of black pottery. He was concentrating on carving handles for tea pots. Our sudden visit did not seem to disrupt their work rhythm.

Nixi black pottery is very particular about the materials used. The raw materials used are a mixture of several materials dug locally, the most important of which is the unique red clay on the hills near Tangdui Village. After digging, drying, pounding, sieving, and drying the soil, a lot of painstaking effort has been spent on the raw materials before the pottery is officially made.

The production of black pottery can be roughly divided into five steps: material preparation, shaping, carving, drying in the shade and firing. From the preparation of raw materials, manual shaping to firing, the whole process never uses electric wheels or other modern machines, but only uses a wooden table and a few homemade wooden tools. The experience gained will eventually make perfect black pottery works. Slapping, beating, cutting, peeling, these seemingly simple actions contain a lot of strength and skills.

The person in charge here took us to see the black pottery exhibition room and museum, where the production process of Nixi black pottery and the inheritance and development of black pottery are displayed.

In the past, due to the rugged and difficult mountain roads, few people knew the existence of Tangdui Village for a long time, and it was not until the mid-1980s that people began to order this black pottery with a long history. With the rise of Shangri-La tourism, handcrafted black pottery has gradually become a precious gift in the hands of tourists.

The beauty of Nixi black pottery lies not only in the charm of thousands of years of history and the praise of "black as lacquer and bright as a mirror", but also in the fragrant butter tea flowing from its embrace and various delicious delicacies cooked. And this land that silently nurtures the locals.

Due to time constraints, we drove to the next stop.

[Natural Wonders - Jinsha River Bay]

Leaving Nixi Tangdui Village, continue to gallop in the opposite direction of Meili Snow Mountain. The high altitude of Shangri-La makes people sleepy. Sitting in the car, the sun shines on the face through the dark glass, warm, and every time I open my eyes inadvertently, All are breathtaking scenery.

From Nixi Township to Dawan of Jinsha River, take National Highway 214 all the way, with 18 bends in the mountain road, listening to the rhythmic music, driving on the road in the distance, all passing through the mountains, about 55 kilometers, we arrived at the famous The big bend of the Jinsha River.

Standing on the viewing platform, you can have a bird's-eye view of Daguai Bay. The afternoon sun shone unscrupulously at the foot of the mountain. Between the Cangling Mountains, a bay of yellow water turned around at the foot and ran to the southeast. In the northeast, we could faintly see the snow-capped mountains, but we didn’t know which mountain it was. .

I believe that everyone standing in front of you will be shocked by the majestic and precipitous creation created by nature. This is the Jinsha River Dawan!

The Jinsha River rushing down seems to want to relieve the long-distance running, so it slows down here, cut in the middle by the cone-shaped mountain, and draws a big "Ω" in a chic way, like the natural blood of this dreamy plateau land , forming a natural wonder of the world. Standing here and looking down, one can't help but marvel at the uncanny craftsmanship of nature, and the heart is magnificent.

【Pilgrimage Holy Land for Hidden Treasures - Dongzhulin Temple】

On the way to Meili Snow Mountain, you will encounter a Dongzhulin Temple. The Dongzhulin Temple is located on the east slope of Nanyongganding, Shusong Village, Benzilan Township, Deqin County, about 105km away from Zhongdian County, and 23km away from Benzilan.

Looking from the winding road at a high place, Dongzhulin Temple looks more like a temple village surrounded by Tibetan-style houses. It is resplendent and resplendent, standing on the originally desolate and low steep slope in the extension of the river valley.

Although the former Songzanlin Monastery has been admirable to me, when I gently stepped into the gate of this secluded temple, which was built in 1667, I couldn't help but be attracted by the simple beauty here.

There are many large and small temples in Shangri-La Temple, and the favorite is Dongzhulin Temple.

Walking through the alleys, passing through various small doors, and stepping on the old old stone road, the fragrance of white flowers is gently enveloped, and the sound of the city is suddenly far away, only the sound of the breeze, just like in the set of a stage play.

On these doors and windows washed by time, traces of history can still be seen.

This long-unrenovated temple (in July 1985, it was rebuilt with funds allocated by the local government; in October 1986, it was personally observed and donated by the tenth Panchen Lama Master Choji Gyaltsan) has mottled paint, old white walls, and colorful The painted pillars, the solemn and solemn Buddha statues, the kind and pious lamas, and the mysterious religious scenery all make me admire and admire.

The temple is so quiet that you can hear the rustling wind outside the temple when you stand in the temple. At that time, the winter sun was surprisingly bright and could illuminate almost every corner of the temple.

In the empty courtyard of the temple, the front is the Great Sutra Hall. On the opposite side of the Sutra hall is probably the pavilion where the living Buddha lectured during large-scale Buddhist activities. It is connected with the surrounding side houses to form a large square courtyard of the temple.

I only met one simple lama in the monastery. They were very friendly, but they didn't understand what we asked. It turned out that they didn't understand Chinese, and they spoke to each other in Tibetan, which we couldn't understand. We smiled at each other, which was regarded as a friendly etiquette, and we went our separate ways.

They walked in such a hurry that when I quickly retreated to the gate of the temple to snap a photo, the ocher cassock was still scattered like the wind, and quickly disappeared from my side in their respective places. I was caught off guard and could not take a group photo. keep in mind.

When we walked out of the temple and left Dongzhulin Temple by car, there were beautiful single-family Tibetan-style buildings along the way, which was pleasing to the eye.

【Meet the Snow Mountain—White Horse Snow Mountain】

Come out of Dongzhulin Temple, continue to go northwest, and climb all the way. The sky of Shangri-La in winter is particularly blue, and the air feels very transparent, with large clouds wandering in the sky.

When climbing up the mountain, at the corner of a cliff, we saw Baima Snow Mountain, like a majestic giant, standing proudly under the cover of clouds and mists. This time we can only pay tribute to it from a distance. Next time we have the opportunity to visit the holy mountain in person kowtow!

Standing on the viewing platform, the snow-capped mountains in the distance are undulating, and the highest peak of Baima is 5,430 meters above sea level, surrounded by snow, a world of ice and snow. At the foot of the mountain are stretches of alpine rhododendrons, but unfortunately, the flowering period has not yet arrived, and we did not see the grand scene of red rhododendrons all over the mountain.

Although Baima Snow Mountain is not as famous as Meili Snow Mountain, it is at least as famous as Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

In fact, every snow mountain has its unique charm and charm. No matter how much you see, when she clearly appears in front of you, you will still keep your eyes on it and yearn for it. Overlooking the main peak covered with snow all the year round, it is really like a galloping white horse galloping on top of the snow-capped mountains.

We took pictures here, and the creative photographer took a picture of the sky mirror for me here.

Then move on, heading towards Meili Snow Mountain. This kind of road doesn't feel long at all.

【Welcome Desk of the Thirteenth White Pagoda—Mist Nongding】

We drove to the beautiful Meili Snow Mountain in our heart and encountered the Wunongding Observation Deck. When we arrived here, we were basically not far from Meili Snow Mountain.

Standing on the viewing platform, the Meili Snow Mountain is quite beautiful. Looking at it from a distance, it is a white area, and the peaks are covered with white snow. It really makes people feel very clean, comfortable and peaceful. It is really reassuring. Practical.

Born in the Central Plains, it is very difficult for me to see such a beautiful snow-capped mountain. It is very exciting, refreshing, and feels very good. It is a good place for taking pictures.

On this Wunongding viewing platform, there are many white pagodas and prayer flags on the roadside. In Tibetan areas, not only Manidui and White Pagodas can often be seen, but they can also be seen hanging on mountain passes, riversides, roadsides, and temples everywhere. There are colorful prayer flags everywhere that are believed to have aura.

The reason why they are called prayer flags is that there are Buddhist scriptures printed on these flags. From the perspective of people who believe in Tibetan Buddhism, if the prayer flags that dance with the wind flutter once, it means chanting sutras once, and they are constantly conveying to God. People's wishes, pray for God's blessing. In this way, the prayer flags become the link between gods and people. The location of the wind flag means the location of the gods, and it also means the place where people pray to the gods.

Meili Snow Mountain is known as a sacred mountain. It is said that a visit here will wash away your sins. When you come here, you can see the majestic snow-capped mountains, the peaks piercing into the sky, and the simple Tibetans, and feel the strong Tibetan customs.

The sky is still beautiful, the hustle and bustle of people in the city and the brightly lit buildings disappear like sea lice and mirages in an instant, and the exhaust gas and dust seem to exist in another world.

【Waiting for Shangri-La Feilai Temple—Rizhao Jinshan】

Starting from the ancient city, almost all winding mountain roads. All the way along the way is the plateau style: bushes, looming snow-capped mountains, and pure sky. After passing through Napa Sea, Jinsha River Dawan, Dongzhulin Temple, and Baima Snow Mountain, we finally arrived at Feilai Temple after 8 hours. Here we can clearly see Meili Snow Mountain and the Rizhao Golden Mountain that people often say.

Meili Snow Mountain is not one mountain, but many peaks. At the junction of Tibet and Yunnan, Meili Snow Mountain has many peaks over 6,000 meters, which are very spectacular. There are also Mingyong Glacier, Ice Lake, Yubeng Village and other attractions.

After about 8 hours we arrived at Meili Snow Mountain, and it was almost dark when we arrived. The hotel is facing the best place to appreciate Meili Snow Mountain, and the price is also very cheap. As it was getting dark, I could only vaguely see Meili Snow Mountain. My first reaction was: where is Jinshan? Where? Isn't this just an ordinary snow mountain?

Later, I heard from my friends that it is not possible to see the Rizhao Jinshan every day, and some people can’t see it even after several visits. However, winter is a good opportunity to see the Rizhao Jinshan. I look forward to the Rizhao Jinshan tomorrow morning.

In order to get up early to see the golden mountains in the sunshine, I took a rest early at 9:00 the night before, and woke up early the next morning. Fortunately, the weather today is not bad. There are not many clouds, but it is still a mystery whether you can see the so-called "Rizhao Jinshan". Set up your camera and get your drone ready.

Suddenly the sky turned golden yellow, but the sun could not be seen yet. But! Snow Mountain has discovered a change! It turned out that the white snow mountain peaks in the picture turned into gold! It turns out that "Rizhao Jinshan" means: when the sun rises, the snow-capped mountains block the sun's dazzling light, but the sun's rays will shine on the mountains. This is a strange landscape where the mountains turn golden, but the sun cannot be seen.

As the sun rises, the snow mountain seems to be infected. From top to bottom, it is slowly dyed golden, and the color is getting stronger and stronger!

Appreciating it from a distance, it really looks like golden mountains! Shine bright! So exciting! Pictures are really not enough to show its one-ten-thousandth charm.

In just a few minutes, the sun appeared in people's eyes, and the beautiful scenery of Rizhao Jinshan disappeared, and it changed back to its original appearance, as if nothing had happened. Therefore, some scenery needs to be lucky to see. I am very glad that we only went once and saw it. I hope that friends who read the article here can also be lucky, and be able to see the scenery you want to see.

It is a long-awaited thing to see the sunshine on Jinshan. According to local Tibetans, anyone who witnesses the whole process of sunshine will have good luck for a year, so I hope so.

The sun shines on Jinshan very quickly, in about 10 minutes, the mountain peak turns from golden to white, and the sky turns blue.

We went back to the hotel, had something to eat, and prepared to go to today's destination, the Mingyong Glacier in Meili Snow Mountain.

【Damei Meili Snow Mountain—Mingyong Glacier】

It is not far from the place where Feilai Temple is staying to Mingyong Glacier. It takes 35 minutes to drive there. Enter the toll station and continue driving. There are two roads after crossing the bridge. One is to Yubeng, and the other is to today. Destination Mingyong Glacier.

The name of Mingyong Glacier comes from the nearby Mingyong Village, surrounded by undulating mountains, forests, flowing clouds, lakes, snow mountains, horses, tents, and smoke, away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the purity. The walking intensity of Mingyong Glacier is elementary. It is about 8 kilometers from the gate of the scenic spot at the foot of the mountain to the Taizi Temple. It is a relatively gentle uphill road, which is similar to ordinary mountain climbing, but the altitude has increased.

After entering the scenic spot, you first need to take a short-distance shuttle bus, then walk on the wooden plank road, and occasionally need to walk on the original dirt road on the way. According to the local name, this is a sacred mountain, and you must walk up the mountain to go up the glacier pilgrimage. Show sincerity.

There is a wooden plank road built along the mountain in the scenic area, and several viewing platforms of steel structure are built at different heights halfway up the mountain. Walk along the plank road in the forest to the Mingyong Glacier, stand on the viewing platform, and look up at the slips Gebo is high above, leaning over thousands of years of ice in the valley.

I believe that you may want to give up climbing to the top countless times, but standing at the top and looking up at the sacred mountain at a close distance, it seems that your soul is purified instantly, so you, don't give up!

The trees along the Mingyong Glacier Plank Road are full of prayer flags, and Tibetans respect them as sacred trees. How can the colorfulness describe the magnificence here.

The end of the ice tongue of Mingyong Glacier reaches the forest. Here, the holy mountain, holy water, holy lake, and holy tree in the hearts of Tibetans are clearly their awe of nature. It took us nearly 3 hours to reach the viewing platform at the end of the plank road on foot on the 3.5Km plank road that goes up all the way.

I really didn't expect that I could climb the plateau for 3 and a half hours, maybe it was the call of the shocking scenery? Maybe it's the calorie-burning high? Enduring the soreness of the calf and the initial panting, I finally boarded the viewing platform of the Mingyong Glacier. At that moment, no amount of fatigue and pain is worth it!

Mingyong Glacier originates from the east slope of Kawabog Peak, with a length of 11.7 kilometers. It is the longest glacier extending from the snow edge of the peak to the forest belt at the bottom of the valley. With an average width of about 500 meters and an area of about 13 square kilometers, it is the largest, longest and lowest valley glacier in Yunnan Province. Whenever the temperature of the snow-capped mountains rises under the scorching sun and the glaciers are heated and melted, hundreds of huge ice bodies collapse and move down with a thunderous sound, which is thrilling. Unfortunately, due to its low snow line, high temperature, fast melting, and relying on precipitation to survive, such a beautiful glacier is melting at a rate of 7% per year. The glacier has retreated nearly 200 meters in the past four years.

Now the Mingyong Glacier is melting continuously, and one day in the near future, it will disappear, so it is very precious, if you want to see it, it must be soon.

【Weixi Dian Golden Monkey National Park】

After coming out of Mingyong Glacier, it was already 2 o'clock in the afternoon. We rushed back to Feilai Temple to have lunch, and set off for Weixi County along the Dewei Line. The whole journey was about 240 kilometers. This is the provincial road from Deqin to Weixi. Head all the way to the southwest. It was already 7:30 p.m. when we arrived in Weixi County, and we lived in Weixi at night.

The next morning, drive from Weixi County to Shangri-La, and arrive at Weixi Dian Golden Monkey National Park an hour later. Because today's schedule is small, there is only one Yunnan Golden Monkey National Park. I originally wanted to sleep in and wake up naturally to see the golden monkey.

Later I learned that the Yunnan Golden Monkey National Park is open from 8 am to 12 am, because the monkeys will go back to the mountains in the afternoon.

After we arrive at the scenic spot, we need to take the battery car of the scenic spot from the gate of the national park, and get off at the expert reception center of the Yunnan Golden Monkey National Park. After that, we have to hike up the mountain and go deep into the forest to meet the Yunnan golden monkey!

At around 9 o'clock every day, the staff will feed the monkeys for breakfast, so you can meet the Yunnan snub-nosed monkeys at close range. Because the Yunnan snub-nosed monkey cannot live in one place for a long time, otherwise it will get sick, so there will be many different monkey watching spots in the park, and you need to follow the guide signs to walk to the monkey watching spots.

Every day at 8 o'clock in the park, the public account will push the location of the golden monkey to watch that day, so if you want to see the golden monkey, you must check the monkey's activity area on the Internet that day, or ask the guide of the scenic spot, otherwise it will be difficult to find the golden monkey.

The Yunnan snub-nosed monkey has a face most resembling a human being. It is white and rosy, and its black, white and gray fur reveals a halo-like yellow in the sun. It can be called one of the "most beautiful animals in the world". They move nimbly, and their vigorous posture can leap into the air, and walk on the top of the tree like walking on the ground. They are naturally alert, timid and afraid of people. In the deep mountains and dense forests, they can sense the arrival of people a few kilometers away, and then run away upon hearing the wind.

There are five species of golden monkeys in the world, namely Sichuan golden monkey, Yunnan golden monkey, Guizhou golden monkey, Vietnamese golden monkey and Myanmar golden monkey. Different from the hair color of other golden monkeys, the color of the Yunnan snub-nosed monkey is black and white. These monkey papers are unique to my country. In the Yunnan snub-nosed monkey National Park in Weixi Lisu Autonomous County, Diqing Prefecture, Yunnan Province, there is the largest Yunnan snub-nosed monkey in the world. Population, there are more than 500 only.

Unlike traditional monkeys, their food is mainly bamboo shoots, usnea, moss, not peaches.

You won’t be bored on the way to the monkey watching spot. It feels like you’re walking in a primitive secret place. There are a lot of plants in the park, such as Zanthoxylum bungeanum, Rhododendron yunnanensis, privet privet, green thorns, hornbeam in Yunnan, and willow with white back. , Rhododendron chinensis, Rhododendron chinensis... and other plants, the park is like a big botanical garden.

The park is now the only place where ordinary people can watch the Yunnan snub-nosed monkey, and it is also the only national park in China that focuses on the protection, breeding, scientific research, leisure and vacation of the Yunnan snub-nosed monkey.

This is a paradise on earth where people and nature, and people live in harmony. Anyone who walks in the Shangri-La Yunnan Golden Monkey National Park will be intoxicated by the mountains, rivers and human relationships in the Shangri-La Yunnan Golden Monkey National Park.

【City of Moonlight—Dukezong Ancient City】

After driving around along the Shangri-La West Ring Road, on the fourth day, I came to Shangri-La, the City of Moonlight, and decided to take a good look at this ancient city—Dukezong Ancient City.

It is an important town along the ancient tea-horse road for thousands of miles, the paradise described in the book, the moonlight city that Tibetans talked about in the past, and the ancient town of Shangri-La in everyone's mind today. It is an ancient city with a history of more than 1300 years.

The ancient city was built on the mountain, and the road surface is undulating. So far, there are still deep horseshoe marks on the stone road, which has witnessed the prosperity of the ancient tea-horse road.

As the hub of the Ancient Tea-Horse Road and an important caravan town at the junction of the three provinces, Dukezong Ancient City still preserves the largest and best-preserved Tibetan residential complex in the world.

Different from the gentleness and delicacy of the ancient cities of Lijiang and Dali, this place shows the unique roughness and tenacity of the Tibetan people everywhere. In addition, the prayer flags and Buddhist pagodas flying under the blue sky and white clouds show a strong religious atmosphere.

Looking from a distance, the Dukezong under the snow-capped mountains still looks peaceful.

The sky here is blue and clear, the colorful prayer flags are fluttering, and distant Tibetan songs echo in the scattered houses.

With Sifang Street Square as the center, the four main streets extending in all directions from southeast to northwest run through the entire scope of Dukezong Ancient Town.

These streets are all paved with bluestone slabs, and on both sides are Tibetan-style dwellings built with mud bricks and wood.

Walking along the street, walking on the potholed stone road, the quaint wooden houses and earthen houses on the street are one after another, and the fine spots of light are sprinkled from the narrow street top, everything looks so leisurely and beautiful.

The quiet Moonlight Ancient City has lost many traces of reconstruction. Looking up, you can see the largest prayer wheel in the world, shining golden light in the evening clouds. Devout believers with folded hands have circled it three times.

There is also a beautiful landscape here, that is, the prayer wheel. It takes at least 20 people to turn the prayer wheel. When turning the scriptures, it must be turned clockwise for at least three times. Although the prayer wheel is a kind of Tibetan Buddhism Practice method, but in the ancient city of Dukezong in Shangri-La, this Tibetan Buddhist practice method has become a must for tourists to pray for blessings. Accompanied by the prayer wheel, the night scene here still has a little memory

There are several prayer wheels in the ancient city, and it feels great to stand on the side and take pictures! There is a flower alley at the north gate of Dukezong Ancient City. Both Dukezong Flower Alley and Lijiang Dayan Flower Alley are characteristic towns of representative urban tourism complexes created by Cedar Culture and Tourism Group. Tibetan painted wood carvings can be seen everywhere.

Because it is not well-known, there are not many tourists in the ancient city of Dukezong, so it is suitable to come in any season.

Walking on the quiet stone road, only the small Tibetan-style buildings on both sides of the road are still slightly lit with soft yellow butter lights.

In the depths of the alley, the hustle and bustle in front of the numerous shops has not yet cleared up, the moonlight and the lights are soft, and there is a kind of hazy beauty in the dimly lit place.

In Dukezong, we may just pass by in a hurry. If we want to truly understand this place, we can only feel it with our heart.

To feel this quiet and pure world, enjoy the sunshine on the plateau, endure the wind and cold in the snowy area, without dust pollution and noise disturbance.

[Understanding the real Tibetan culture - Shambhala Kalachakra Mandala]

A trip is not only to see the scenery along the way, but also a spiritual and cultural baptism.

【postscript】

This 72-hour self-driving trip in Diqing, Yunnan is over, and the whole journey has been relatively smooth. Let’s make up for the regrets left when we come back next time in another season.

I think the essence of self-driving lies in the road. The beauty of the scenic spots is important, but the various experiences and scenery on the road are also a wealth of life.

I hope that we will meet each other on the next journey!
