The original 6-day itinerary was to arrange 4 places in Qianhu Miao Village, Maolan, Jiabang, and Zhaoxing, two cultural areas and two scenic areas. Originally booked to go to the Maokarst Primeval Forest in Libo on September 20, but after the typhoon "Mangosteen" passed, we called to confirm that the Maolan Scenic Area was closed, so we canceled the trip that day and extended the day of Qianhu Miao Village .

The scenic spots in Guizhou are relatively scattered, so free travel is indeed a problem, mainly relying on trains, buses and other means of transportation. We finally got our driver's license last year, so this time we can finally rent a car and travel by car. It is relatively free. If you don’t drive by yourself, you have to buy the bus and high-speed rail tickets between each scenic spot. It may be calculated that the ticket will save time and money, but it is necessary to pinpoint the timing. This is the same as our Buddha this time. The purpose of the trip was contrary to the purpose, so we still chose to drive by ourselves to see the scenery along the way. In fact, the roads in Guizhou are quite easy to drive, and there are many high-speed roads. This time, only a section of the road to the list is bumpy, and the others are considered smooth. .

Encounter the world's largest Miao village

When I was doing a guide before, I heard that the Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang is an open-air ethnic museum, which still preserves well-preserved folk customs such as farming, festivals, silver ornaments, clothing, and food. This time I finally have the opportunity to experience this for myself. Ethnic style.
On the first day, we went through the car rental procedures at the airport. The car rental was booked online about a week in advance.

Departing from Guiyang Airport at noon, it is less than 200 kilometers to Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village. It takes about 3 hours to drive. I thought that the road conditions in Guizhou were average, but it turns out that there are many highways and the road is smooth, so don’t worry.

We went through a lot of caves and tunnels all the way. We arrived at Xijiang around 4:00 p.m. and parked in the parking lot of the scenic spot. Tourists are not allowed to drive in the scenic spot. Only the cars of local villagers can enter and exit. The parking space is very tight. It is estimated that the situation will be better if you come earlier, the parking fee is 30 a day.

After staying in Xijiang for 2 days, we finally drove to Jiabang Terraced Fields, which was the longest section of the trip. It took about 6 hours to drive for more than 200 kilometers. The scenery on the road continued, and there was also a bumpy and unforgettable drive The mountain road makes people feel how hard it is to join the terraced fields.
Jiabang Terraced Fields is located in the northeast of Jiabang Township in the hinterland of Moon Mountain in the west of Congjiang County, 80 kilometers away from the county seat. There are stilted buildings scattered in the 10,000 mu of terraced fields, which is one of the best terraced fields in China.

Congjiang—Jiabang Terraced Fields: There is a shuttle bus from Congjiang Bus Station to Jiabang Township at 10:20 and 14:20 every day, get on the bus and buy a ticket, tell the driver to get off at Dangtuo intersection, 30 yuan per person, The journey takes about 3 hours. After getting off the bus, you can see the minivan to Jiache Village, 100 yuan/car, which can seat 7 people, with an average of 10-20 yuan/person. About 9km on foot, 3-5 hours.
2. Rongjiang - Jiabang Terraced Fields: Take the 13:00 bus from Rongjiang Bus Station to Zaibian, get on the bus and buy a ticket. There is no guarantee that there will be a bus every day, so you can ask in advance. After getting on the bus, tell the driver to get off at the intersection of Dangtuo, 27 yuan per person, and the journey takes about 3 hours. After getting off the bus, you can see the minivan to Jiache Village, 100 yuan/car, which can seat 7 people, with an average of 10-20 yuan/person. About 9km on foot, 3-5 hours.
3. From Jiache Village back to the intersection of Dangtuo, you can call a car from the farmhouse where you are staying and send it to the intersection. After arriving at the intersection of Dangtuo, take a minibus to the direction of Congjiang and Rongjiang. There are many trips, among which Zaibian arrives at Kai The shuttle bus in 9:00-10:00 passes through the Dangtuo intersection.

There are many caves that need to be passed through on the expressway. After leaving the expressway, we started various winding mountain roads.

I read other people's travel notes before. During the peak travel period, riding in other people's vans can bump for several hours, bumping while jamming, and my butt hurts. Fortunately, we avoided the peak period this time and there was no traffic jam.
With apprehension in mind, we finally encountered a bumpy gravel road. It should be a section that has not yet been repaired. The road is very narrow, and the dust raised by the gravel blocks the view, and we have to pass by various large trucks. But there are still tens of kilometers away from the Jiabang terraced fields, and I wondered if the rest of the road would be this kind of road. Fortunately, after driving for about half an hour, I finally re-behaved, and the road was finally flat!
If it is raining, it is really dangerous, and you will worry about landslides, so I hope everyone can travel in good weather.
It is suggested that you can avoid this road from Congjiang to Jiabang.

After going through the gravel road, every section of the road feels so easy to drive, it is simply a paradise on earth, and the scenery looks different.

I finally saw the words "Jiabang Rice Terraces". You need to register the vehicle information here, and then you can continue to drive in. We will continue to drive to Jiache Village, because our inn is booked there. Tickets are required, entry is free.
The next winding mountain road will become narrower and narrower, so you need to be more careful when meeting cars, safety first.

I have to say that Jiache Village has not been developed much. It is a relatively unpopular scenic spot. There is almost no commercial place. It is quite primitive. Friends who can’t stand it or friends with children and the elderly are not recommended to come, but I'd rather this place is not commercialized like this.
Jiache Village is very small, surrounded by majestic 10,000 mu of terraced fields, the village is located on the mountainside, quaint stone roads, intersecting wooden houses and terraced fields harmoniously blend, away from the hustle and bustle of external civilization, the scattered villages are like small villages The isolated island, hidden deep in the mountains, is the breath here.

Jiache Village

We stayed in Jiabang for 2 days, and ordinary tourists only stay for one day, but we really enjoy this simple and pure state of life, so we decided to stay for two days. Because the rooms tend to be full during the Mid-Autumn Festival, and there are very few inns here, we changed to two inns to live in. The environment is very good, and it is newly built. It is recommended that you book a room about one month in advance.

I thought I could take pictures of the Milky Way this time. Unfortunately, the moon and stars are sparse and cloudy. I didn’t see the stars very much, but I caught up with the Mid-Autumn Festival. At night, the dazzling moonlight can occasionally illuminate our entire shadow.
The journey of chasing the Milky Way has not yet been completed, and it seems that it is still left for the next journey.

It is really suitable for walking and viewing. The appearance of each season is different. Every April and May are the seasons for water injection of the terraced fields. The light reflected on the terraced fields after water injection is the favorite season for photographers; the terraced fields in summer are green rice waves. The Jiabang terraced fields in golden autumn and October are harvest time; the terraced fields flooded with water in winter are mixed with some harvested straw and faint green manure.
We slowly found the way into the terraced fields along the mountain path. After walking for several kilometers, we sat down and looked at the mountains in the distance when we were tired. We didn’t do anything but felt full of rewards. I think we will come again in the future. See what they look like in different seasons.

The "New Rice Festival" is a day when the rice is ripe, celebrating a good harvest, and tasting new rice. It is a local traditional festival. There is no fixed date, and it is usually held a few days before the rice is about to be harvested every year. Every time when the rice is ripe, grand sacrificial activities are held to thank the ancestors for their great achievements and to celebrate the upcoming harvest. Therefore, the New Rice Festival has been passed down from generation to generation.
Early in the morning, I heard the sound of firecrackers one after another, and a strong festive atmosphere. Adults and children all put on national costumes, only to find that there are so many Dong people here, which are really different from the Miao people's dress, especially the girls' silver ornaments are very beautiful. It’s very interesting. Only then can the Dong and Miao people be distinguished. The men are slaughtering chickens and pigs in front of their houses, and even plagiarizing cattle to entertain guests. Zhaoxing Dong village is one of the largest Dong villages in the country. It is known as the "No. 1 village in Dong village". This time, we can see the difference between Miao village and Dong village.

When we arrived at the entrance of the scenic spot of Zhaoxing Dong Village, we found that the architectural style was different from that of Qianhu Miao Village. We parked the car in the tourist parking lot. There is no parking fee for the time being, and the parking space is quite sufficient.

We usually come to see the scenery of the terraced fields in the morning or at sunset. Unfortunately, the weather was not good this time, it was cloudy and rainy, and it was a pity that we were not able to hike.
