The northernmost county in China is Mohe, and the northernmost village in China is the Arctic Village in Mohe County. On August 6, 2010, at around 5:00 pm, the reporter finally arrived at Mohe, a border town in northeast China, from Jiagedaqi after a ten-hour journey with the "self-driving tour to the Arctic Village".

Recalling the convoy's scenery along the way from Jiagedaqi to Mohe, they are not only beautiful, but also very distinctive. The blueberries in Amur, the hometown of blueberries, the lush virgin forests, and the wetlands with water and green all feast the eyes of riders, and they have endless aftertastes to this day...

Mohe County is located at the northern foot of the Greater Khingan Mountains, on the south bank of the upper reaches of Heilongjiang, in the northwest of Heilongjiang, the northernmost tip of the motherland, and the county with the highest latitude in my country. There are continuous mountains in the territory, and there are 94 mountains above 400 meters above sea level. The highest mountain, Baikalu Mountain, is 1397 meters above sea level. The rivers in the territory are criss-cross, and the gullies and streams are densely covered. There are more than 1,000 large and small rivers, including 98 famous rivers.

On May 6, 1987, a fire in Daxing'an Mountains burned for 28 days, turning the county town into ruins. Today's Mohe county town was rebuilt after the disaster, so Mohe is a new city in front of people.

In order to remember the victims of those natural disasters, there is also a "May 6th Fire Memorial Hall" in Mohe, which was built to reflect on the huge forest fire that occurred in Daxing'anling on May 6, 1987.

Today, looking at this clean and beautiful border town, compared with the scorching heat of Beijing, the car enthusiasts feel very excited after a long journey to this cool place. And the temperature of more than ten degrees in the evening made some female riders somewhat uncomfortable and felt a little cold. I really don’t know the blessings in the blessings... When I finally arrive at Mohe, I will go to the end of the trip-the Arctic Village to explore.

In the early morning of August 7, the convoy set off from Mohe and headed for the Arctic Village along the Mobei Highway under construction. In fact, the actual distance from Mohe to Beiji Village is only more than 80 kilometers, but because this section of road is currently being expanded, it is extremely difficult to walk. Generally, it takes two to three hours to travel depending on the road conditions. On the way, the convoy first passed Guanyin Mountain on the way, so the riders went up the mountain for sightseeing.

Walking into the 108 bends and 468-meter-long wooden plank road in the forest, it feels a bit like visiting Alishan in Chiayi, Taiwan. The mountains here are gentle and beautiful. At the foot of the mountain is the famous Yanzhigou. The creek in the mountain flows slowly down the mountain, indicating that the north water flows directly to the south mountain. The 10.8-meter Avalokitesvara of the Arctic Forest and Sea here faces south, and the 108-meter Buddha statue of Avalokitesvara in Nanshan Sea, Hainan, faces south and north, facing each other from north to south.

The Avalokitesvara in Guanyin Mountain is an integrated three statues. Each Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva holds different instruments, representing different incarnations of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, reflecting the convenient door for Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva to save all living beings. It is said that after the Avalokitesvara of the Guanyin Mountain in Mohe was enshrined, the miraculous scene of "Buddha's light shining everywhere" appeared three times in a year on Guanyin Mountain. After the rainbow, surrounded by the white as jade, quiet and elegant Guanyin statue, the scene is extremely magical and wonderful.

After a short drive from Guanyin Mountain to the north, you will come to Yanzhigou on the west side of the highway. It is located 43 kilometers north of Xilinji Town, Mohe County and 32 kilometers south of Beiji Village. Founded in 1889, it was called Mohe Gold Factory and Mohe Gold Mine Bureau in history, and is now called Laogou Gold Mine. It is said that this was also one of the locations where the TV series "Crossing the Guandong" was filmed.

During the Qing Dynasty, the gold here was exchanged for rouge by the Empress Dowager Cixi, so the name of Yanzhigou was given by the Empress Dowager Cixi. Now the grand scene of the gold rush in those days no longer exists, and all that remains are the silent river valley and the prostitute's tomb hidden in the forest not far away, except for the complicated legends. The prostitute's tomb is located in the depths of Yanzhigou, where four or five hundred prostitutes in the late Qing Dynasty sleep peacefully.

There is a hillside next to the Golden Ditch, on which the Li Jinyong Ancestral Hall was built. Li Jinyong was the first minister assigned by the Qing Dynasty government to take charge of the gold panning here, and he made great contributions to the excavation of the Golden Ditch. The ancestral hall is full of incense, and gold diggers often go up the mountain to ask for the protection of the gods of the ancestors. There is a bronze statue of Li Jinyong on the mountain behind the ancestral hall. Not far from the bronze statue is the Yanzhi Pavilion. Standing here and overlooking it, the scenery of Yanzhigou is looming through the green pines and cypresses.

After leaving Yanzhigou, the convoy drove straight to Beiji Village. After more than 40 minutes of driving, the convoy finally arrived at the Arctic Village. In the reporter's imagination, the Arctic Village should be an original ecological village, but when they came to the entrance of the village, it was quite different from the imagined scene. Now it is a well-planned Arctic Village Scenic Area.

Walking into the gate of the Beiji Village Scenic Area, what catches people's eyes is a wooden archway, and the four big red characters of "Northern Frontier of China" are impressively eye-catching.

Walking in, it turned out that this was inscribed by Comrade Yang Shangkun, former president of the country, in July 1996. Follow the road on the left side of the wooden archway and enter the village not far from the memorial stone of Arctic Village.

Song Fangsen, a tour guide in Mohe, said that the Arctic Village, formerly known as Mohe Village, was inhabited in 1860 and is located at the northernmost tip of the motherland. There are 243 households and 963 people in the village.

In 1997, the Mohe County Government opened up the Arctic Village as the "Arctic Village Scenic Tourist Area", becoming the northernmost tourist attraction in the country. It is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with simple folk customs, a strong local flavor and a well-preserved ecological environment. The vast and misty Heilongjiang River flows through the village. On the other side is the village of Ignacyino in Amur Oblast, Russia.

Arctic Village is famous all over the world for the phenomenon of Northern Lights and polar day. Before and after the summer solstice, it is almost daytime 24 hours a day. Looking north at midnight, the sky is white, the sunset is still in the west, and the morning halo is rising in the east. It looks like evening and dawn. People can play chess and ball outdoors. Every year, the Summer Solstice Festival attracts domestic and foreign tourists from all over the world to watch this annual natural landscape.

The riders took a group photo in front of the Arctic Village Memorial Stone and began to visit the village. After a short walk, I saw the "first house at the entrance of the village". This is a small farmyard with an all-wooden structure house, and the Northeast calls this kind of wooden house "woodcut lenght". After continuing to walk, people will find that there are similar small courtyards on both sides of the road, and these farmhouse courtyards are basically family hotels. The reporter walked into a house at random, and saw that the owner was hospitable and hospitable, the house was very clean, and there was also a bathroom, and the conditions were quite good.

Continue to move forward to a crossroad in the Arctic Village, which has become more prosperous. The northernmost post office in China, the northernmost financial institution in China, some shops, restaurants, hotels, and schools are all in the surrounding area near the intersection.

There are fruit vendors on both sides of the road. The reporter joked with one of the elder sisters who sold fruit: "You should write a sign: the northernmost watermelon stall in China. Make sure your business is booming!" The amusing fruit vendor laughed from ear to ear , Repeatedly: Good idea! Great idea! I never thought of that...

After lunch at the Arctic Village Inn at noon, the riders started to explore the Arctic Village. First of all, I drove along the road along the bank of Heilongjiang to the north for about 3 kilometers, and came to a parking lot at the northernmost tip of our country.

After getting off the car, the riders crossed a suspension bridge on the inland river, came to the small island close to the territory of our country connected with the boardwalk, and walked along the Xuanwu Square to Beiwangyakou Square. The North Pole of China, the northernmost bathroom in China, the stone pillar of "I have found the North", and countless inscriptions of "North" by famous scholars and scholars are all located in this area.

The small Beiwang Yakou Square was built after the rise of tourism in the Arctic Village in recent years. It is said that this is the apex of the "cockscomb" of the rooster-like Chinese territory. Gao's artistic steel carving of the character "North".

Each steel carving has the same half of the character "North", which together form three characters of "North". Each "North" character is not only like a soaring deer, but also like a soaring eagle. The triangular pyramid-shaped steel sculpture of "North" shines brightly in the sun, glamorous, and contains the essence of the Polaris. With the brilliance of the sun and the moon, it is sacred and respectable. The North Pole marks its apex pointing directly at the Polaris, and below it is the location of the Arctic Village on the earth.

There is also a huge map of China on the ground at the North Pole, marking the major cities in China and the distance between them and this square. It indicates the vertical distance between the Arctic Village and Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, Nansha, Urumqi, Sanya, Dandong and other parts of the country. The reporter saw that the distance from Beijing here is marked as 1568 kilometers.

Walking into a small forest from the North Pole, not far from the road is the No. 138 Boundary Pillar of the People's Republic of China established in 1993. After walking out of the grove, it suddenly became clear that this is the border river Heilongjiang on the Sino-Russian border.

The Heilongjiang River, the border river between China and Russia, originates from the Mohe River. The river is crystal clear and twists and turns. The scenery on both sides of the river is gorgeous and beautiful. The virgin forest in the territory is lush and lush, which can be explored, hunted, and campfires.

Standing on the riverside and looking closely, the clear river flows quietly. Looking far away, you can clearly see the small Russian-style houses with pointed roofs and the barbed wire fences in the shade of green trees on the other side of the river. The building is the now abandoned Russian outpost, and the new outpost is said to be hidden halfway up the mountain on the opposite bank.

Going back to the fork in the grove and walking to another path, there is a huge sculpture of Dayin supported by four pillars standing in front of you. This is the "Crown of the Golden Rooster" in the Arctic Village. The four characters "Golden Rooster Crown" are engraved on the raised positive side under the dragon head print standing on the top, and the four characters "Golden Rooster Crown" on the concave side are corresponding to the ground. The big seal shape of the entire golden rooster crown is really majestic and magnificent.

Returning to the village from the small island on the side of the Inland River and the Boundary River, the riders drove south to the "Northmost House in China". This two-house conjoined building is also a "woodcut" style wooden house, facing south and backing north, with a field of colorful wild flowers blooming in front of the door. Old corn still hangs on the wall outside the door. The house on the right is now a shop dealing in handicrafts. Despite its small size, it is full of customers. Cyclists feel that it is meaningful to buy some souvenirs here.

After leaving the "China's northernmost family", the riders came to the "Shenzhou Arctic" square. In the circular North Pole Square, stands a stone tablet of "Shenzhou North Pole". Behind the embankment is the rolling Heilongjiang River. On the other side of the river, Russia's hills, cliffs and green forests are like a landscape painting, setting off this section of the Sino-Russian border extremely magnificently.

Exploring the Arctic Village not only depends on the customs and natural features here, but also takes a look at the border post guarding the northernmost tip of the motherland. The first sentinel in northern China is located on the right bank of Heilongjiang in the Arctic Village, and the watchtower has played an extremely important role in the frontier defense. She is not only a lookout post on the Sino-Russian border of a certain company of the Chinese People's Liberation Army stationed in Beiji Village, but also a lookout post in the northernmost part of China.

The entire watchtower is a hexagonal cylinder, and the stairs lead directly to the top of the tower. The top area of the tower is 10 square meters, and high-powered telescopes can be used to watch the scenery of Russia. The watchtower is a brick-concrete structure, the first floor and the top of the tower are relatively spacious, and the other floors are occupied by iron stairs. There are two small two-story buildings on both sides of the watchtower, which are the meeting station and the soldiers' barracks, surrounded by brick walls. Although it is not yet fully open to tourists. But it is a place where anyone who comes to the Arctic Village must arrive and take pictures.

The last place the riders explored in the Arctic Village was the Oroqen National Museum. The museum is located among the green trees in the Arctic Village. Its architectural shape is based on the Big Dipper worshiped by the Oroqen people since ancient times and its original residence "Xianrenzhu", and the whole museum is designed into seven "Xianrenzhu" exhibition halls arranged in sequence.

The exhibition hall fully shows the historical changes and development process of the Oroqen nation through seven themes of Xing'an hunting gods, hunting people's homes, hunting in Xing'an, mysterious shamans, simple folk customs, cultural and sports activities, and new life.

After visiting the Oroqen Museum, the trip to explore the Arctic Village by car also came to a successful conclusion. The reporter and his party set off from Beijing at the end of July. After eight days, they trekked more than 900 kilometers to reach the Arctic Village. Although it was hard work, everyone felt that they had benefited a lot. Some riders also made an appointment to wait until winter and then visit the Arctic Village to enjoy the magnificent snow scenery on the border of the motherland. (Photo: Feng Ganyong)
