From October 12th to 16th, 2019, I accompanied the elderly in my family on a self-driving trip to Shanxi. Of course, I would like to thank my wife for staying behind. Shanxi and my wife drove to Pingyao during the Spring Festival more than 10 years ago, and the feeling was not very good. Of course, according to the requirements of the elderly, mainly to Wutai Mountain, so the chosen route is Beijing-Wutai Mountain-Jinci-Qiao Family Courtyard-Pingyao Ancient City-Wang Family Courtyard-Beijing, with a total mileage of 1467 kilometers, and the whole journey is high-speed, especially when going. There are relatively few cars on the Beijing-Kunming Expressway to Wutai Mountain. For two elderly people in their 70s, they can basically see the unique scenic spots in Shanxi. The total cost is more than 5,000 yuan, mainly spending 1,775 yuan for accommodation, meals The fee is 1194 yuan, the ticket is 443 yuan, the refueling fee is 540 yuan, the toll fee is 700 yuan, the Wutai Mountain tour guide fee is 300 yuan, and the parking fee is 75 yuan. The overall impression is that Wutai Mountain, Pingyao and other scenic spots have a good environment, and the service level has improved a lot, but the consumption difference is relatively large, and the overall consumption of Wutai Mountain is relatively expensive. The whole stay is booked on Ctrip, and the restaurants are all based on Dianping. The following is a detailed description of the itinerary and some precautions.
On the first day, we departed at 6.30 in the morning and arrived at Mount Wutai at noon. We stayed at the Rushe Inn. This inn is relatively far from Shuxiang Temple. Although it is relatively remote, the room is relatively clean. When the weather cools down, floor heating is also provided, making the room warmer. The boss is very enthusiastic, sent a map, introduced the key points of the tour, and recommended a vegetarian restaurant, a bright light, with discounts. After lunch, visit Zhulin Temple, Longquan Temple, Nanshan Temple and Puhua Temple. The knife-shaved noodles I ate in Laoshanxi for dinner, the restaurant is relatively clean, but the knife-shaved noodles feel average.
On the second day, continue to visit Mount Wutai. This time it happened to be on the fifteenth day of the lunar calendar, which is the day for offering incense. Since I visited Wutai Mountain for the first time, I hired a one-day tour guide on Ctrip, which cost 300 yuan, mainly for the tour guide's route and the introduction of the main temples and the rules of incense. The main temples for offering incense on Mount Wutai are Shuxiang Temple and Wuye Temple, and they have to go to offer incense before breakfast. Although it is the off-season, there are still more people offering incense, but there will be more people in peak season. Other rules will not be introduced in detail here, friends can understand by themselves. After going to Dailuoding, I feel that this is the most worthwhile temple in Mount Wutai. I originally went to Beitai in the afternoon, but due to the sudden rain in the weather, the tour bus did not go, so I left a regret. After thinking about it, the itinerary was a little unreasonable, and I could go to a station for a tour in the afternoon of the first day. In the afternoon, I visited Yuhua Temple and Fenglin Temple. I ate vegetarian food at Wutaiyun Health Vegetarian Restaurant for dinner. I personally feel that this restaurant should be a better vegetarian restaurant in Wutai Mountain. The vegetarian food is better and the taste is moderate.
Tips for visiting Mount Wutai, first, book tickets on Ctrip in advance, get electronic tickets before entering the mountain, and you can drive directly into the scenic spot by yourself, otherwise it will be troublesome to buy tickets on the spot, and second, if you go for the first time, you can invite a tour guide.
On the third day, after breakfast, start the third itinerary, Wutai Mountain-Jinci Temple-Qiao Family Courtyard-Pingyao Ancient City, stay in Yijintang Inn, the whole journey is more than 300 kilometers. Jinci Temple has now built a big park, which is good, and it is still in time for the Chrysanthemum Exhibition. Jinci Temple was built on the hillside, mainly to commemorate Ji Yu. Everyone is familiar with Qiao's compound, they have all watched this TV series, and the outer perimeter is being repaired now, the parking lot is a little farther from the gate, and the compound is made of brick and stone. I stayed at the Yijintang Inn at night, not far from the county government, near the Xiaxiguan parking lot in the ancient city, you can contact the inn to arrange a car pick-up, as foreign cars are not allowed to enter the city, the parking lot costs 20 yuan a night, which is not expensive. The inn is a small courtyard with good sanitation facilities. After checking in, I sent a map, specially introduced the Pingyao travel route, and sent breakfast. I had dinner at the Fuxing Gong Restaurant, and I ordered a few special dishes, which were okay. In the evening, I went to Pingyao's most lively county government street and West Street. The night view of the ancient city is quite beautiful.
On the fourth day, it rained all night. After breakfast, I started the ancient city tour in the rain. The basic route was the county government office (watching the performance of the case), the southern city wall, the Confucian Temple, and the Chenghuang Temple. I ate sliced noodles with vinegar for lunch. This restaurant is in On West Street, the noodles are good. Then, back to the inn, the old man rested at the inn in the afternoon. I went to Dongdajie, Huoshen Temple, Majia Courtyard, Erlang Temple, Fushenggong by myself, and basically walked around the ancient city of Pingyao. I feel that the ancient city of Pingyao is the west street as a whole, the south street is more prosperous, the east street and the north street are relatively old, and some old buildings are preserved, especially the county government is relatively complete, and there are many inns and restaurants in the ancient city. For dinner, I ate at Tianyuankui. The taste of the dishes and the service were good.
On the fifth day, the light rain continued. After checking out, we drove to the Wang family compound. Fortunately, the rain basically stopped when we arrived at the Wang Family Courtyard. Pass through the Confucian Temple in the village and arrive at the Wang Family Courtyard. The Wang Family Courtyard was built on an earthen hill and consisted of three large courtyards, each of which consisted of several small courtyards, which shows the economic strength and local influence of the Wang Family at that time. Because it is built on the hillside, the houses in each small courtyard have some characteristics of cave dwellings.
