A few suggestions for walking the Sichuan-Tibet line

1. Regarding road conditions

The road conditions of most of the Sichuan-Tibet line are relatively easy to walk. In Sichuan, there are winding roads, and when entering Batang After that, the road started to be difficult to walk, and gradually became all mountain side roads. After crossing the Jinsha River Bridge, you enter Tibet. From Mangkang to Rumei, there are broken roads along the Jinsha River, and it is easy to cause landslides and mudslides when it rains. , After passing through Rumei, there is another winding mountain road, and the road conditions are normal. Between Bangda and Basu is the famous Seventy-two Turns of the Nujiang River. The most difficult part of the Sichuan-Tibet line is the Basu, Bomi, Tongmai, Lulang, and Bayi Road sections, which are also prone to landslides and mudslides. After Bayi Town, the section from Nyingchi to Lhasa has now opened the Lalin Highway, which is equivalent to the high-speed section in the Mainland, but it has not yet been fully opened to traffic. In the middle, it needs to turn out and climb over the 5013-meter Mila Mountain. The middle journey will be about 40 minutes later. Turn onto Larin Highway. It can be said that 90% of the road sections of the Sichuan-Tibet line are normal road sections and are all cement roads, but if there is heavy rain, then 10% is enough for you.

2. About high-defense

Before the departure, the four members of the team were all sincerely afraid of high-defense, and they also bought a lot of anti-high-defense drugs. Because the students in Chengdu were too enthusiastic, I was in a state of drunkenness after the happy gathering in Kuanzhai Alley. The first day of the trip was from Chengdu to Kangding County at 2850 meters. I was drunk and had a high fever. I vomited along the road to Kangding. I couldn't sleep until I woke up at three o'clock in the evening. The next day was from Kangding to Yading. The altitude was between 3,000 and 4,000 on the way. Three of the four members of the team experienced high reactions one after another. Some people kept getting out of the car to vomit along the road. The other one was also disgusted by us and was about to vomit. Someone had the idea of quitting. Go Ahead Or Go Home? Fortunately, we persisted. When we arrived in Shangri-La Town, following the advice of the hotel owner, we bought inosine oral liquid, and the headache symptoms gradually disappeared. On the third day, my blood returned to 90%, and I would only have a slight headache above 4,000 meters above sea level. After that, there was no altitude sickness at all. Even in the Everest base camp at an altitude of 5,200 meters, I was bouncing around and smoking small cigarettes normally. After entering the plateau, the air is thin, so many people buy oxygen cylinders to inhale oxygen. I do not recommend this. I have never inhaled oxygen cylinders all the way down. You need your body to adapt to the environment, not rely on oxygen cylinders. I have also been drinking rhodiola, but I don’t think it has any effect. It’s better not to drink rhodiola in the end. After drinking rhodiola, I feel like vomiting, so I stopped drinking it for two days. Of course, high altitude is also determined by each person's physical fitness. My only suggestion is not to drink, because I also drank beer at high altitudes, and immediately felt slightly uncomfortable, so don't drink! do not drink alcohol! ! do not drink alcohol! ! !

3. About the models

We all know that the Sichuan-Tibet line is domineering, and the Lu Xun should not be too unscrupulous. I have seen more domineering and Lu Xun on the Sichuan-Tibet line than I have ever seen before. However, there are all kinds of cars on the Sichuan-Tibet line, and the most famous one is Wuling Hongguang. Don’t they also complete the Sichuan-Tibet line as usual, it’s just a matter of difficulty. Before renting a car, we only had Tiguan and Captiva to choose from, because Wuhan can only rent these two SUVs. At first we chose Tiguan, but after checking the information online, we decisively decided on Captiva. One is that Tiguan has two-wheel drive and Capci has four-wheel drive; the other is that Tiguan plus No. 95 and Capci plus No. 92. Now it seems that our choice is correct. Although the 2.4L Captiva is a bit difficult when climbing the mountain, it has not yet appeared to be unable to climb. Therefore, I suggest that if you drive to take the Sichuan-Tibet line, if you want to worry less, if you want to prevent unexpected road conditions, it is more reliable to choose a four-wheel drive SUV. Of course, the larger the displacement, the better.

4. About Mount Everest

Although the team had a little friction for the itinerary, the flaws were not concealed. Going to the Everest base camp was the most wise decision in this trip. Many people may only come to Mount Everest once in their lives. We were also very lucky. There were no clouds when we went. We saw the whole picture of Mount Everest. After staying for an hour or two, the clouds covered the top of the mountain. There is no such luck. Under normal circumstances, a three-day itinerary should be arranged to see Mount Everest from Lhasa, but we have completed two days, and these two days are also the most exhausting two days of our trip. On the first day, drive from Lhasa to Yamdrok Yongcuo for more than two hours, depart from Yamdrok Yongcuo to Tingri County at 13:00 noon, take a break in the middle and drive to visit the Karola Glacier, and do not start until 23:30 in the evening Arrive at Tingri County; wake up at 8:00 the next morning, and start at 8:30 am after that. It takes three hours from Tingri County to Mount Everest Base Camp. In the middle is the famous 108 bends of Mount Everest. On a relatively flat section, we stayed at the Everest Base Camp for nearly three hours, and then returned to Lhasa. This section was the longest we drove, about 12 hours, and we didn't arrive in Lhasa until nearly two o'clock in the morning. It is 627 kilometers from Lhasa to Mount Everest Base Camp. There are many winding roads, and the speed cannot be driven. The highest altitude is 5200 meters. Driving on the mountain road at night is especially dangerous. Fortunately, the team is all experienced drivers and they are more cautious in driving, but there is no room for sloppy driving on the mountain road at night, otherwise there will be unexpected dangers. Therefore, if you have enough time, try to arrange a trip for three or four days, and try not to drive at night.
