July 2013 Ningxia Yinchuan Nanguan Great Mosque ticket 10 yuan

The Hui nationality is a nation whose whole people believe in Islam. It is the main ethnic group in Ningxia, and the characteristics of Islamic culture are the most obvious. Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia, borders the Yellow River in the east and Helan Mountain in the west. It is a beautiful city on the lake.

Ningxia Yinchuan Nanguan Grand Mosque

The Ming Dynasty was the heyday of the development of Islam in China. The Nanguan Mosque in Yinchuan was built at the end of the Ming Dynasty and has a history of nearly 400 years. The original site was in the "Gongbei (cemetery)" pavilion outside the South Pass of Yinchuan. After liberation, it was expanded and repaired in 1953, and became a large temple with 63 main halls and 41 auxiliary rooms, covering an area of more than 20 mu. The original temple is in the traditional Chinese classical architectural style. Unfortunately, it was wiped out in the 1960s as the "Four Olds".

In 1981, Guangda Mu SL raised funds to rebuild the temple at the present site in the old city of Yinchuan. The newly built Nanguan Temple has a novel architecture and is the largest mosque in the autonomous region. It is not only a landmark and symbol of Yinchuan, but also a religious place open to the outside world, and a holy place for Muslims in the Northwest. status.

The new mosque is different from the old mosque. The new mosque is a building with Arabic style and national characteristics, consisting of arches, domes, corridors, courtyards, etc. The construction of the new temple took just over half a year from design, construction to completion. Ingenious design, quick construction and high quality are rare indeed.

The main building of the reconstructed Nanguan Grand Mosque is divided into upper and lower floors. The upper floor is composed of a main hall, a balcony and a large square worship hall that can accommodate more than 1,300 people. The lower floor has a spacious bathing room, chapel hall, female chapel hall, Arabic school, imam bedroom, office, reception room, etc., all connected by corridors.

The worship hall is located on the upper floor. It is square, 21 meters long on each side, and 26 meters high. It sits west and faces east. The top is a large dome with a diameter of 9.5 meters. The top is hung with a crescent moon, and the top is decorated with vases.

The five arched doors of the main hall open to the east—the doors of mosques in China all open to the east. Muslims enter the door to worship, facing the west, which is the direction of the holy place of pilgrimage for Muslims.

There are small domes at the four corners of the main hall, and the domes are all green. There are two square-column "Bunker Towers" (minaret towers) on both sides of the front of the main hall. The height is 30 meters. There is also a fountain with a diameter of 15 meters in front of the hall. The trees are full of shade, and the flowers bloom in spring, summer and autumn. There is a fountain in the middle.

The lower floor of the worship hall is a small worship hall and so on, which are connected by corridors.

Every "Juma Day" or the traditional festival of the Hui people, there will be thousands of Muslims gathering here to engage in activities. The word "Jumah" is a transliteration of the Arabic "juli", a religious ceremony held by Muslims in mosques every Friday afternoon. Ceremonies include religious rituals such as worship, listening to "Khutubai" (doctrine speeches) and listening to "Wolzi" (encouragement speeches).

Nanguan Temple is located in the commercial district of the old city of Yinchuan, and there are many commercial streets next to it, which can meet your shopping and food needs. Delicacy is like hand-caught mutton. Laomao hand-caught and Guoqiang hand-caught taste the best. There are also fried foods such as sprinkled seeds and Youxiang, which are all special delicacies.

There is another very interesting building at Yinchuan Nanguan. Does it look like Tiananmen Square? The locals call it "Little Tiananmen (Square)", but it is actually the South Gate (building) of old Yinchuan.

PS:

The distribution of Hui people has the characteristics of "large dispersion and small concentration", and they believe in Islam (Islam). The requirements of Islamic teachings are relatively strict, so inland tourists should pay attention to doing as the Romans do when they go to Islamic places. Talk about a few basic points.

It's very quiet. In the places in Iraq, it's relatively quiet. Inland tourists should refrain from making loud noises. It's very clean, as long as the residential areas of Musl have this feature. Clean, when entering their places, they must be neatly dressed, and exposure is not allowed. . Mu SL does not allow smoking and drinking, and there are strict requirements on diet. Muslims do not allow idol worship, so you can see that mosques and Muslim homes are never dedicated to gods, nor are they allowed to hang statues of gods. There are only geometric patterns and plant patterns in the decorations and portraits, but no animal patterns. Do homework five times a day.
